Principal Hoagland cancel prom, in Kellenberg Memorial High School, in Uniondale, New York. The reason was because parents were planning on spending $1,000 on prom dresses, tuxedos and immoral activities, after prom for teenagers; immoral activities that involved drinking and sexual activities. These immoral situations can lead teens to bad things like lose control of themselves and teen pregnancy, which can cause complaints against the school. Also because it 's a Catholic School, I also agree with Hoagland on cancelling prom to avoid immoral. But at I also disagree with not having a prom for the school.
I understand it’s expensive to buy dresses, tux, limos, and hotel rooms for their children. But the principal has no control over rather

Sex and drinking is one of the sins the Catholic Religion won’t tolerate. If the students attend to a Catholic School they’re supposed to obey the rules by following them. At time the other parents will speak out against the School allowing the students to drink and have sex. Not all teen were a condom when they have sex. Some teens can either catch aids or pregnancy at a very young age. Due to the complaints from the parents, Hoagland could also lose his position as the principal of the Catholic High School.
I understand why the principal would cancel prom. But at the same time I believe the school should still have a prom. Proms are usually when student get together and have fun. Teenager love enjoys fun events, which makes them a lot happier. Prom involves music dancing and food all together. It can also be a social event when friend can get together, young couples can get together. This school event can also bring memories to teenagers, and as they grow older many of them will see it as one of the best times of their

However parents spending money for prom shouldn 't be a problem for the principal. They just wanted to see their kid have a good time together, with friends. It’s good to have a prom in high school when it comes to seniors graduating and they don’t have the very special moment with friends. Its even worst when some juniors and seniors loves a special someone in there heart but can’t share a special moment in school. But because Kleinberg Memorial High School is a Catholic school, Principal Hoagland wanted to save the student from doing things immoral after prom that may harm their
No greater obligation is placed on school officials than to protect the children in their charge from foreseeable dangers, whether those dangers arise from the careless acts or intentional transgressions of others. Although the overarching mission of a board of education is to educate, its first imperative must be to do no harm to the children in its care. A board of education must take reasonable measures to assure that the teachers and administrators who stand as surrogate parents during the day are educating, not endangering, and protecting, not exploiting, vulnerable children (Frugis v. Bracigliano, 2003).
The superintendent and principal are stymied in their efforts to reach a compromise as Mrs. Durnitz refuses to change her position that the policy must be followed to the letter. She appealed to the teachers’ association for support when it appeared that the administration and board might not uphold her position. The local newspap...
...ve way from being exposed to the sexual content. Some feel that they will feel that such things described in the novel are permissible actions since teachers cannot cast a moral judgment on them. In agreeing with Chad Vegas, the Kern High School District Trustees must bring principles, morals and convictions to the classroom and to students (Hunn A1).
The focus on the appearance of the schoolhouse was mainly limited to the private schoolhouses, which wanted to attract the best students. Schoolmistresses decorated the school so that they looked relatively well-off, and conducted the school to give the appearance of a family/domestic setting. Unlike the public schoolhouses, the private schoolhouses aimed to attract a small number of the best students, whereas the public schools wished to attract enough students so as to collect an adequate amount of money for their salaries and other extraneous fees (Pederson 142).
Some schools are trying to alleviate the stress in young girls to live up to ...
Prom is one of those overrated things that many people feel they have to do, but it 's all good. Save your money and just kick it at home. It is unnecessary to do the whole shibang of parties and asking a girl to prom. The idea of asking a girl to prom is essentially like a marriage proposal. It is just an unneeded cycle of dra...
Unlike others some students have no transportation to and from the school. Now, you got a bunch of students stuck at home with nothing to do. Kids sitting at home board out of their minds doing nothing. That’s just not right. Usually parents have things to do in the afternoon like working. After working their butts off all day, the first thing they’d want to do when they get home is sit back and relax. They don’t want to go home pick their kids up and take them back to a place they just came from. What’s the point is that, when the kids could’ve stayed at school
A summary of the meeting included roll call, remarks from both the superintendent and the board president. After the basic introduction the meeting continued with information updates that ranged from human relations to foundation for city schools, to the newest student representatives Abraham from Allen high school and Jamylee from Dieruff high school. It turns out that the student representatives are the newest additions to the board meetings, perhaps it’s for the students to have a voice and an ear to listen to what changes are being made. After the information ...
Along with Meg, Ella, Matt, and Jake a lot of other young adults were attending this party. There was a variety of alcohol. A majority of the kids were underage at the time of drinking. A few boy and girls choose to smoke cigarettes and intake drugs without the consent of parents. Another example of the disobedience is the noise of the party. The music is tremendously loud. The speakers fills both floors of the house with the volume turned all the way up. The noise could be heard from a block away. The final example is the irresponsibility with managing school work and social life. It is about the time of the midterms and finals at University of Central Florida. The kids are going to parties, to the beach, and extra activities for teens instead of
student needs to go, they should be able to go. They should not have to wait for the bell to ring.
The cost to attend a private school is much more than that of a public education. On average, a student attending a private school will pay between $3,000 and $10,000 per year in tuition (Schlesman). Although private school children pay much more, public school children are paying money to attend school as well. Unlike a private school where you pay for everything up front, a public school requires that students pay for most classes through a class fee. After paying the class fees that they may have, the students still then have to pay for any school supplies they may need and any books that are not provided by the school. Most parents will not send their children to a private simply because of the money, but when in reality they will be paying for their children to attend school either way. With this in mind, parents should put their money to good use and send their children to a school that will teach them to have good character, morals and standards according to the Bible. However, a second downfall that a private school may have would be the dress codes. Most private schools have a stricter dress code than most public schools do. Though this is somewhat unnecessary, it can actually be very beneficial to both the students and the parents in the long run. By enforcing such a strict dress code, students are being encouraged to dress appropriately in a place of work. By teaching them at a younger age to dress
Also, the school receptionist would make certain that if a child wasn 't able to come to school because of a family problem. They would keep this information as private.
For many years abstinence has been regulation among the united states for teaching teens about sex. Students are not taught how contraceptives work, where to buy them, how to get checked for stds and other valuable information that people who have sex should know. Instead, the educators decide that just telling the student body not to do it would cause some magical thinking upon the kids, creating them not to participate in sexual activities. What these schools fail to realize is that it is not about what they want the teens to do, its about what the teens are going to feel obligated to do. The schools fail to see how poorly abstinence really works, how poorly it teaches sexualy active teens to be protected, and how poorly it prepares students for potential STDs and pregnancies.
Starting with the claim High Schoolers are losing their freedom of speech politically. “How so?” you are probably asking yourself well let me first introduce to the Diocese of Rockville Centre they run three catholic schools in each of this schools they have stated that if any student
