PR0J01 Aaliyah; Princess of R&B Movie aired on Lifetime Saturday, November 15 and honestly I believe that it was the worst biopic I have ever seen. The reason I felt it was such a bad movie was because of the acting, the way Aaliyah was portrayed and the rushing of it, and when Aaliyah's family publicly disapproved of the role and denied Lifetime any legal rights to Aaliyah music. In June of this summer, it was announced on social media that an Aaliyah movie would come into the making and Zendaya Coleman, a Disney star actor, would portray the singer Aaliyah in the movie. After weeks of speculation about the movie, TV personnel Wendy Williams confirmed it and she also confirmed that she would be the executive producer of the movie and …show more content…
The little girl had the same exact dress, hairstyle and shoes as Aaliyah. Because of her look, I thought to myself this should be a great movie. The movie went to a commercial and came back. Aaliyah was sitting at the table with her uncle and manger, Barry Hankerson. She was eventually signed to his record label and soon it was announced that he signed and would be managing R. Kelly. Barry mentioned at the table that Aaliyah lost Star Search and her mom was saying that she had cried for days. The problem with that scene was that so much happened in act one that I did not understand what was going on. In the next scene Barry picked Aaliyah up from school and told her that she would have a record deal because he made a deal with R Kelly. Aaliyah jumped for joy and screamed out that, "I have a record deal!". The next scene passed in which Aaliyah came into the kitchen and she was already 15. I felt everything went so fast and we didn't really know much about her childhood. All I knew was that her uncle was a producer, she lost Star Search and she had a record deal. She sang "My Prerogative" at the Detroit High School for the Performing Arts talent show. It was pretty awkward because the actress voice was pretty shaky she didn't sound well. In the next scene the writers seemed to want to make it clear that R. Kelly was a hot producer in the '90s. When Aaliyah's uncle , Barry Hankerson, talked to R. Kelly at the club, he tried to convince him to listen to Aaliyah sing. The producers made R. Kelly's character very arrogant because he stated that he's too busy or too famous to listen to Aaliyah , but eventually he did. A good chunk of the movie has just been him leering at Aaliyah from behind dark shades in the studio. Aaliyah begins to fall in love with R Kelly. At one point, she talked back to her
The shrewd publicity stunt generates a wake of teenage hysteria which sweeps the entire nation. The arrangement is that Birdie will administer a final “good-bye” kiss on Kim MacAfee (Ann-Margret), a randomly chosen Conrad Birdie Fan Club member. This kiss, which will also be a symbolic fair-well to all his crazed fans across the nation, will be accompanied by Birdie singing Albert’s latest song, “One Last Kiss.” However, Birdie's arrival in Kim's hometown of Sweet Apple, Ohio, for the TV broadcast on the “Ed Sullivan Show,” creates havoc for all, including Kim's father (Paul Lynde) and her boyfriend Hugo (Bobby Rydell). Inevitably, a heated feud is created between the genders, but all ends up fair in this musical tale of love and war.
Her first part was a bit part in the clique top choice, F/X (1986). She had a key part in the fundamental hostile to posse film, Boyz 'N the Hood that shoed the struggle African American men in particular faced in Compton, California in the 90's (1991). After a year, she handled the part of Katherine Jackson, mother of the Jackson Five singing gathering, in The Jacksons: An American Dream (1992).
In addition, this musical either surprised or fascinated me. I was skeptical about going to this show because I 'm not into love movies. I assume this show would be the same. But I am glad that I was mistaken because the show was great. Seeing some of my favorite R&B artists acting was a pleasant surprise. I was blown away at how good these chart-topping singers performed as actors. The way in which the actors interact with one another and the countless hilarious

While waiting for the movie to play there was lots of laughter and chatter. Everyone, including myself was excited to see this particular movie for many reasons. For me I had heard that it was a good movie for other friends, also I had previously viewed the trailers and was excited to see the actresses together in a movie. The theater instantly got quiet as the movie began. The sound track
I like that there are stories within the main plot. I liked watching the musical more because it was amusing and entertaining to watch because of the characters and the dialogue that was given. Act One of the book and the musical was about the baker and his wife who couldn't receive a child. They went through many obstacles to retrieve the four items they needed for them to receive a child. The witch, who they had come across, told them that in order for them to get a child, they will have to find four objects such as: a cow that is white as milk, a cape that is red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as
It was just a simple plot wherein the little girl writes a letter about her father, who has been a superhero for his daughter and had done everything just to provide the things needed. The little girl noticed the sacrifices her father had made and thanked him for them however; toward the end she wrote that her father was a liar.

Will modern-day film adaptions overcome the staple fairy-tale plot that makes romantic comedies so endlessly appealing? Yasmin Perry Reports. Despite the increased demand for more relatable adaptations of predicable plots and whirlwind romances, directors and screen writers refuse to appease modern day audiences. Preferring to construct a storyline that plays heavily into the cliché rescue of a female protagonist from her helpless existence by a wealthy, handsome hero.
