Have you ever felt like someone in your life greatly impacted how you live and think? Do you think minor characters in a story can shape the story of a protagonist? Katniss Everdeen is a great example of answering this question. Katniss has many people to prove that a minor character can shape and change a protagonist's perspective on life. Cinna, Primrose, and Rue are minor characters in the Hunger Games who greatly impact Kaniss's life and journey in the games. How you might ask? Primrose Everdeen is Katniss's younger sister and the former tribute of District 12. until her older sister volunteers to take her place in the Hunger Games, Katniss's choice to take her place shows how much Prim means to her and her dedication to protecting her little sister. Primrose impacts the way Katniss thinks she needs to win and how her only desire is to survive so she can give her family a better life. How does a minor little character like Cinna impact Katniss's character and life? Cinna was Katniss's stylist during the campaigns in the 74th and 75th Hunger Games, He later played a major role in Katniss's rise to prominence in the rebel movement and helped her create her "Girl on Fire" looks which helped win over the the audience during her interview with Ceaser Flickerman. Cinna protected Katniss by helping her appear as unthreatening as possible. It's all a big show. It's all about how you're perceived, so by making her more likable he was able to help her with sponsors which helped her in the games. When Katniss started her rebellion, Cinna understood the importance of it and of how its symbols provide meaning and inspire movements, so he helped her, which led to his death by the Capitol for supporting her and rebelling along with
