As children we always had that desire to have some sort of extradinary power or ability and use it in whatever way we wish so. Shamefully, this fantasy could only be briefly lived in our dreams and imagination. Despite of this, that didn't stop our heroic journey to keep on trying to fly, read minds or move object with our minds. If, by any chance I could gain any superpower in an instant I wouldn't hesitate to ask for the superpower of power manipulation. To be brief, power manipulation is the ability to control any sort of energy, alter the structure or composition of myself and others, and absorb any sort of energy. Now, when I put it that way the first thing you might think is "He will use it for his on gain” which, I will be honest, is not far from the truth. Yes, I will use it for self gain but not in the sense that I will go all Doctor Doom and start terrorizing countries and putting them under my control. Instead, I would rather just keep my power a secret and use it to …show more content…
Well to cut it short, I would have no desire to cause harm or even come near to kill out of a whim. Yet that doesn't mean I would be a goody two shoe. If I had said abilities I would only need to show my strength and do whatever I want since, well, I can alter any type of energy meaning I can technically control light. Well only the ability to control the photons but since photons are in short what compose light. I could, in theory, make a weapon out of light. I could steal anything I want be it money, art, artifacts and even cakes! Maybe even ten cakes at once and then eat them all. Well... Perhaps only eat three or four cakes since having the ability of power manipulation doesn't grant a bigger stomach. Nonetheless, this scenario is pretty slim to happen if I had such power except for eating cake. Their is high chance of me eating cake with or without

When somebody abuses a great amount of power, that individual can lose all their power. The struggle against someone who abuses power is perfectly depicted in the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, by Ken Kesey. When someone abuses their power, they can impose certain feelings and actions onto others. If someone tries to conceal their personality, . Finally, if someone abuses power and is constantly challenged by another individual who is trying to take the power abuser’s power away from them, the power abuser will always be frightened of his or her challenger. In present society, humans constantly use others for their own intentions. In the novel, Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card characters use people's naivety to their own advantage. The adults in this novel use the children's innocence for their own nefarious purposes and consequently, manipulating the children leads to having powerful individuals as the story progresses.

Power has been defined as the psychological relations over another to get them to do what you want them to do. We are exposed to forms of power from the time of birth. Our parents exercise power over us to behave in a way they deem appropriate. In school, teachers use their power to help us learn. When we enter the work world the power of our boss motivates us to perform and desire to move up the corporate ladder so that we too can intimidate someone with power one day. In Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Kurtz had a power over the jungle and its people that was inexplicable.
The power of manipulation is a very powerful tool and can easily be misused to benefit
Power is both a good and evil thing. With power, a person has the potential to change the world. With power, a person’s words would be so influential, that anything would be possible. But when a person uses power for evil, it could possibly provoke the most horrible events imaginable. One person who used power for evil was a character from the movie Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith created by George Lucas. The characters name was Chancellor Palpatine. In a span of about fifteen years, he was able to manipulate the political system of the Galactic Republic so that he would come to power. With various events such as the Clone Wars, he gained more and more power as Chancellor, so much so that the only thing that the Chancellor feared was to lose his power.
Power allows people to do anything they want. They can use it in different ways, they can tell people to obey them, they can use it to hurt someone they hate, and even rob. They can also use it in a positive way, they can help people and do a lot of good things with it.
Some theorists believe that ‘power is everywhere: not because it embraces everything, but because it comes from everywhere… power is not an institution, nor a structure, nor possession. It is the name we give to a complex strategic situation in a particular society. (Foucault, 1990: 93) This is because power is present in each individual and in every relationship. It is defined as the ability of a group to get another group to take some form of desired action, usually by consensual power and sometimes by force. (Holmes, Hughes &Julian, 2007) There have been a number of differing views on ‘power over’ the many years in which it has been studied. Theorist such as Anthony Gidden in his works on structuration theory attempts to integrate basic structural analyses and agency-centred traditions. According to this, people are free to act, but they must also use and replicate fundamental structures of power by and through their own actions. Power is wielded and maintained by how one ‘makes a difference’ and based on their decisions and actions, if one fails to exercise power, that is to ‘make a difference’ then power is lost. (Giddens: 1984: 14) However, more recent theorists have revisited older conceptions including the power one has over another and within the decision-making processes, and power, as the ability to set specific, wanted agendas. To put it simply, power is the ability to get others to do something they wouldn’t otherwise do. In the political arena, therefore, power is the ability to make or influence decisions that other people are bound by.
Power is not generally bad, but each individual contains an evil desire to posses it, and with this
