Power Corrupts Man In The Fellowship Of The Ring

Man's power tends to corrupt relatively quickly. This fact has been shown in J.R.R.Tolkien's book entitled, The Fellowship of the Ring. It is not power that corrupts man, though. Pride does. In the Bible it says that pride comes from destruction. This was how Boromir's downfall came to be. Power will make a man aggressive. Man will believe that he deserves power. Power will ultimately kill a man.
First, power will make a man aggressive. This is seen in chapter ten in the Fellowship of the Ring. In "The Breaking of the Fellowship", Boromir tried to force Frodo to give him the One Ring. He tried to persuade Frodo to give him the Ring. First, Boromir was speaking about how he could make gigantic armies if Frodo gave him the Ring. When he realized that he would not receive the Ring, he ended up cursing hobbits. This kind of thing happens in reality. In 1 Kings 12, it tells about Rehoboam. In the Fellowship of the Ring, Boromir was killed as a consequence of his thirst for power. This kind of death is not only found in fairy tales. It happens in real life. Uzzah was struck down. He thought that by his own strength, he could hold up the Ark of the Covenant. He did not suspect that God would strike him down just for doing that. In Judges, it talks about Samson. His strength killed him. He was to be righteous for God, but he failed at that. He was the strongest man in the world. He told Delilah the secret to his strength and his enemies captured him. He was weak. He asked God to give him his strength back. Samson ended up killing many Philistines and also killing himself. The Antichrist will also be killed. He will want power.
