Recommended: Life after high school

Greetings Parents/Guardians of MHS and MCHS Seniors, I wanted to extend a warm welcome back to the school year and as you have no doubt noticed, life with a Senior is a little bit different! At 4 weeks in to the Senior experience and beginning to settle down, we continue thoughtfully thinking of and preparing for life post-high school. From my experience, it will reduce anxiety on many levels for students to be organized and have solid options come spring, be that world of work, trade school, gap year plans, or 2/ 4 year colleges. In order to bring that goal into fruition, planning begins now. In that effort, we will be holding a Senior Parent Night on Tuesday, Sept 26 at 6pm to discuss both post-high school plan info as well as financial aid application prep. All senior parents/guardians, regardless of your student’s plans, will benefit from attending this informational evening. ( we know there is an oot volleyball game that night- this is an impacted time of year and we tried our best to meet the needs of most.) …show more content…

The FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Aid) opens for submission on Oct 1 and is the “gatekeeper” to all free state and federal financial aid as well as student and parent loans. The FAFSA is a team effort between parent/guardian and student, both needing to submit information and an “electronic” signature. I strongly recommend that Seniors and their parents/guardians attend this event
