Cultivate the Plant of Positive Thinking in the Garden of Life I believe in positive thinking because it is like a small plant which can grow huge with the help of some fertilizer and regular care. Similarly, the more I use positive thinking, the better I will be at it, and the more it will grow. I am not saying that it is easy to think positively all the time, but I believe that most of my thoughts and ideas should reflect happiness and positivity. To obtain happiness one needs to learn to be optimistic in even the most difficult situations. Positive thinking helps me find a way in tough situations. Being optimistic is a skill that does not come in one day; one needs to work on it to obtain it. One can always start with coping skills. At least that is what I did. Later on, I started to encourage myself to …show more content…
Almost all my friends were planning to go. I also wanted to go with them, but my parents did not allow me to go because we were supposed to go visit my grandpa’s house for some family event. I was so upset that I closed my door and did not talk to them for the rest of the day. Later after some days, when I was not so distressed, my mom explained to me that maybe it was for my own good. Maybe I will enjoy more at my grandpa’s house, and I did. However, I was still trying to contemplate what my friends must be doing at that time, what would I did be doing if I was with them. When my friends came back from their vacation, they told me that it was raining most of the time and many people got sick because of the bad weather and food. At that time, I understood that whatever my mom said was right: if I would have gone to the trekking vacation, I would have gotten sick as well. I went home and apologized for my rude behavior and learned a lesson that positive thinking can take me a long
Motivation is defined as the process that guides, initiates, and maintains goal orientated behavior and thought (Cherry, 2013). Motivation is what drives individuals to do what they do, whether it is something as simple as getting a drink because he or she are thirsty or something as big as getting up every day and gong to work for a paycheck.
By assessing the personal meaning of events, emotion comes up. What’s more, positive emotions have not only a role of marking happiness, but also a function to continue
Adoration of God; solidarity with a definitive; turning into one with the universe; concordance of body, psyche, soul, and nature; these expressions point to the key objectives of the significant religious customs. The objectives mentioned speak to wellbeing in the most important sense (Meier, O 'Connor & VanKatwyk, 2005). They can be accomplished through a relationship between the broad sense of being of the individual and the group. Religious groups perceive human enduring, disorder, and social unfairness as issues identified with human detachment from an extreme reality and disharmony in the middle of self and world. Cures may include religiously based treatment practices, reflection, a request to God, physical controls like hatha yoga,
Well-being is a combination of physical, mental, emotional and social factors. It is seen, as a stable state of being satisfied with one’s self and their life that doesn’t fluctuate due to a single even, person, or feeling (Begley and Begun, 2000). Well-being consists of eight dimensions, emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social and spiritual (Begley and Begun, 2000). For the purpose of this study we are going to be looking at the emotional and occupational sides of well-being. Emotional state of well being is the ability to recognize, understand and express a full range of emotions and channel our emotions into healthy behaviours that satisfy our personal and social goals (Ryff, 1985). Occupational is achieving personal satisfaction and enrichment in one’s life through work, education, and personal goals and passions (Ryff, 1985).
Whether we are naturally an optimist or more of a pessimist, it’s impossible to know what the future holds. So perhaps the best of both worlds is to be a realistic optimist - someone who tends to maintain a positive outlook, but within the constraints of what they know about the world (actionforhappiness.org).
My primary personal thinking style is the Achievement Style, which is one of the constructive styles. Constructive Styles pertain to self-enhancing behaviors in ways of thinking, which determine a person’s level of satisfaction. These styles also pertain to the capability of effectively working with people, building healthy relationships, and being proficient at the accomplishment of tasks.
In life, it certainly seems that for most people, happiness is the end goal. People do what they do for many reasons, but quite often their motives are simply fueled by their desire to be happy. However, happiness is attained in many different ways. As Aristotle points out, happiness is achieved through goodness, which is also very complicated. After all, life is not black and white, and our actions are not just good or bad. Rather, our actions can have ends that are intrinsically good or instrumentally good. If they are instrumentally good, then they will allow us to attain something that we can "trade" for something else that will bring us happiness. For example, if we win tickets at an arcade, they would be considered instrumentally good because although they don't bring us happiness, we can trade them in for a prize that does. On the other hand, some things are intrinsically good. We want these things simply because we want them; they bring us pleasure or security. When we obtain these things, we are satisfied with them and we experience happiness.
A Positive Behavior Support System (PBSS) is a school-wide approach to help establish the social culture and behavioral supports that are needed for all of the children in a school to ensure the achievement of both social and academic success. Because school principals play a pivotal role in the success of the school community it is, without a doubt, important that the principal play an important role in developing and implementing a PBSS in their school.

It is often said that attitude is everything. This is a particularly important characteristic of a good nurse. Having a positive attitude in ones work environment, especially in the health field, can at times determine life or death. The way an employee perceives themselves can ensure safety and comfort to others, along with increasing the likely hood of a patient or a family members return. Coming off with a negative attitude could potentially cause a patient to loose trust and not have the enjoyable experience that is deserved. There are laws and regulations that must be met in order to preserve patients or resident’s rights. The reasons from where ones attitude might derive from could possible root from many different sources. A nurses attitude

...ed and accepted. This is because not only does it aid those who are have mental illnesses but it is also designed for the betterment of society as a whole. Additionally, there are also medical treatments such as drugs for these kinds of mental diseases and although both have had successes both also have limitations. As drugs come with side effects, have high relapse possibilities and there are also dosage problems whereas, in positive psychology the debate over how happiness is measured in the first place is controversial. As a result, using past experiences like in ww2 psychologists have designed positive psychology so that it is helpful of all people in society and not only those in need of help. All in all, it can be said that although there are limitations to both of these fields under psychology both also have numerous success and benefit society as a whole.
I frequently think about the effects of words on the healing body and mind. One of the things that I focus on in my therapeutic pursuits is "positive self talk," wherein I try to take those automatic negative statements my brain tosses out and change the dialogue to something more productive.
The approach is usually lengthy in order to accommodate the attitude of hope for forthcoming conditions evolving as optimal. The vaster concept of optimism is the understanding that all of nature, past, present, and future, functions by the law of optimization. The word optimism originated from the Latin word optimum, which means "best". Optimism is a deposition or tendency to view the more favorable side of events or conditions and to await the more favorable outcomes. Optimism is the belief that good eventually overrules the evil in the world. Also, the belief that goodness defuses reality. Optimism is the attitude that the existing world is the best of all possible worlds. Optimists often have the impulse of making lemonade out of lemons, and then to see the glass as half-full rather than half-empty. Most optimist persistently attributes benevolent motives to others and illustrate situations in the best possible light; others easily just disassociate an internal mood from external situations, no matter how tenacious. A person can be optimistic in devoirs such as expecting his or her relationship with another to be successful. Now on to pessimism, pessimism is the impulse to stress the negative or unfavorable. The belief of pessimism is that this is the worst of all possible worlds and that
We all need more positivity in our lives, otherwise, we wouldn 't be able to sustain ourselves mentally. Positivity is a platform to hope, a warm greeting or even a smile. It enlightens your day in ways you can’t possibly explain. Judge for yourself through the following example. Imagine someone negative coming across people the whole day and having to go to work like this person always does every day. Now, the fact that he/she is negative is going to cut him/her completely to what he/she is normally supposed to do. This means that he will probably not return someone 's greeting or notice the time passing by. In other words, he/she is going to be distracted by a negative thought. On the other hand, when you have a positive attitude you know more or less how to get back to reality and carry on with your day.
