Some people like camping in tents, while others enjoy sleeping in a camper and hiking for most of the day. People who camp outside most likely enjoy the outdoors. The book, The Trail, takes place on a portion of what is called the Appalachian Trail. From start to finish, the Appalachian Trail is roughly 2,200 miles in length, and starts in Springer Mountain, Georgia, and ends in Mount Katahdin, Maine. For Toby’s specific portion of the hike, he was hiking 400 miles from his grandma’s home in Norwich Vermont, to Mount Katahdin, which is one of the 4 trailheads. Throughout the Appalachian Trail, there are things called shelters, in which people that are hiking the trail can stay at. These shelters provide warmth, food, and company, which are all things that a majority of the hikers are craving. Not
Camping, hiking, kayaking, rafting, mountaineering, and backpacking are all recreational activities that a group of people may do together when visiting the park. Flightseeing, birdwatching, and sport fishing are other activities people may do
The trip began when I took a small green pencil and signed by name on the release forms needed to hike in Yosemite National Park. I and nine of my friends left the ranger station that night with a neatly folded map and a felling of excitement to what lay ahead. The long drive to the park left us tired and in need of a good night’s sleep. We decided to stay in tent city like most hikers do before they set out for their trek. Tent city was a large subdivision of tents that resembled a community of houses. Each tent was perfectly uniformed in its appearance and made up a total of fifty tents. Before we went to bead, we studied our maps and made an itinerary to the amount of hiking we would do.
The Two Methods of Camping and Which Is Better There are two ways that families or individuals camp. One way is permanent camping, and the other is transient camping. Permanent camping is exactly as it sounds. A camper is placed on a purchased or borrowed lot at a campground and is left there year-round. Transient camping is when one takes a camper with them to a campground and then takes the camper back home after he or she is done. Not all campgrounds have the option of going permanent; in fact most campgrounds only allow transient camping. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, but which is the best? Well, that's just a matter of opinion. Transient Camping Let's start with transient camping. Transient camping is extremely common
In conclusion, according to Beddow, Hymes and McAuslan (2011, p. 12), classification both provides an easy life and give a hand to stay alive however, nowadays momentarily classification is not a necessity, but it is in progress without noticing by human beings. Throughout the A.T. backpackers experience wildlife and challenges that help them in various ways. Self-confidence is a great skill accomplished as well as self discovery and commitment. The time it takes gives travelers time to discover themselves while walking the beautiful trail. Hikers who hike for a hobby and/or exercise also take away experiences from a trail traveled by many. Whether traveled non stop or by sections, the Appalachian Trail is a great adventure for almost any hiker to enjoy.
Wilderness therapy is a form of therapy that combines the therapeutic benefits of adventure experiences and activities with traditional models of therapy (Foundations of Adventure Therapy, 2007). Wilderness therapy has a background in experiential education and is conducted in natural settings that “kinesthetically engage clients on cognitive, affective, and behavioral levels” (Norton et al., 2014). In wilderness therapy, clients are given the opportunity to rely upon each other all while using wilderness skills such as “pack building, shelter construction, fire making, and meal preparation” (Bettmann, Russell, & Parry 2013). There are two primary settings that wilderness therapy occurs in: a base camp where individuals remain in the same place for most of the program, and an expedition where individuals travel for most the duration of the program (Rutko & Gillespie, 2013). During their wilderness experience clients focus on treatment, daily life, and the present moment (Bettmann et al., 2013). The activities and challenges encountered ...
There are many reasons the ocean is my favorite place to be. These range from the atmosphere and people at the ocean to the scenery experienced while there. It is a time for me to be free from all the hassles in my life and to "get away from it all," even if it is only for a week. The ocean should be enjoyed for what it is. Loud noise and all the hustle and bustle of boardwalks should not exploit it. At the ocean I can feel at home and at peace because it is my favorite place to be.
The log cabins for example are unbelievably beautiful. Although they are somewhat expensive once you have experienced one of the Smoky Mountains cabin resorts you will see that every penny spent is worth it. As soon as you step foot in

Classification is the way people are classified according by their characteristics and/ or qualities. Classification, has been a process of evolution that has developed over time. Meaning everything has changed over long periods of time by a process called natural selection. We have classified everything around us, whether it is a living or nonliving organism. We humans categorize things because it helps us form a cognitive framework of understanding the complexity even though the framework is still imperfect. Linnaeus talks about the system of classification and when we classify things we impact the way it is interpreted, it is also the birth of racism. Sampson talks about how words shouldn’t hurt others, but should be used to expand our knowledge.

Have you ever visited a place so beautiful and serene that you couldn’t imagine a more stunning place? For me, it is the shimmering and flowing waters of the ocean. The way that the deep blue waters meet the gritty beige sand leaves me in such awe. The water is like a soft blanket, comforting and inviting. The unique wildlife and vegetation that exists on the beach is something I’ve never seen anywhere else. There is no place more beautiful and thrilling than the beach.
