Introduction
The United States is one of many countries that has a less corrupted political party system compared to a country like North Korea. The U.S has a two party system, which has been the foundation of their political arena. Even though, many political parties can exist in the U.S there are two parties that dominate in the U.S. The two party system is a more stable and less complex compared to other political systems. The two main political parties in the U.S, are the Republicans party and the Democratic party. The two main parties have many differences and similarities in many ways when it comes to their political party. Freeman mentioned that "the two parties are different not only in name, program, and coalitional components but also in type” (1986, 327). The type is in relation to their philosophical beliefs that the party has for the country. In addition, Freeman discuss in his research that when it comes to “the Democratic party power flows upward and in the Republican party power flows downward. The second is attitudinal: Republicans perceive themselves as insiders even when they are out of power, and Democrats perceive themselves as outsiders even when they are in power” (1986, 328). The decision of the case in Roe vs. Wade case the issue of abortion to be more divided. The decision in the case was that women had a right to abortion because it’s under their right to privacy because of the fourteen amendment. However, the decision was not accepted by many states which caused them to add more regulations when it comes to abortion (Strack, 1999, 7). The topic has been very controversial when it comes to the freedom that women have with their body. According to Bradberry, there is a difference when it comes to the two political parties pertaining to Abortion rights (2016, p. 15). Bradberry research focused how conservative Republican candidates are on issues such as abortion. In addition, the researcher showed that Republicans religions identity mostly, Evangelical, “conservative mainline Protestants and Catholics”, do not agree with having the right to have an abortion (Guth and Bradberry, 2013, 21; Bradberry, 2016, 3). Bradberry (2016, p. 2) stated how when it comes to politics and decisions for the party, religious voters are the top priority because they affect whether the party will win or not.
