Introduction
Policing the cloud is a difficult task as the internet and web are very big places. In my essay I will cover the reasons for the need to police the cloud and how it is policed so i shall start with:
Understanding Cloud Computing.
Hacking - why it is done?
- how its done?
- who are hackers?
Security and how it is implemented into Software as a Service Platform as a Service & Infrastructure as a service
Understanding Cloud Computing
What is cloud computing, well it is the ability to use virtual machine on servers somewhere in the world to get work done, store data and use virtual machine to compute over the internet.
Cloud computing is the ability to use programmes and data on a remote server somewhere in the world that is connected to the internet to get work done. In cloud computing there are 3 types of cloud computing SaaS, PaaS & IaaS. Information is stored on servers, you host your IaaS (infrastructure as a service) service on a server or multiple servers. This is expensive to do for the average person so companies have been set up to do this for you like amazons Elastic Computing and you pay for how many servers you use over a month and you pay for storage. Programmes are run in virtual machines (virtual computers) on servers so users can use these services over the internet at ant time.
Types of Cloud Computing & How They Work.
In cloud computing there are 3 types of cloud computing.
Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
IaaS is the physical type of cloud computing it is all of the hard ware that handles the off site computing these servers are not just a bunch of hard drives. They are computers, with a CPU, RAM, hard drives, a power supply, etc. these machines do the work that is then trans...

...de this look at Policing the cloud, its obvious that the the world is an ever changing place that many steps have to be taken when cloud computing, as there are always vulnerabilities in the system so cautions should be taken. Altho it is a dangerous place in the cloud there are many ways of protecting yourself from these dangers and its worth noting that you need security at every step in your infrastructure to be completely safe any small gap could lead to an unwanted so and so accessing your system. Every possible angle of cloud computing must be examined when designing software to police it, all entry points and exit points must be heavily guarded to protect the contents of the server. After covering this topic its nice to see people like IBM creating initiatives to stop hacking and malware causing problem, creating a self policing cloud where users can be safe.
The idea of accessing, storing, and processing data from online server or virtual server instead of local server is called as Cloud computing. When we store data in our hard disk which is very near to computer that is called as local storage and computing but Cloud computing doesn’t access data from our hard disk.
...common risks and their mitigating techniques are: Unauthorized access to data centers, computer rooms, and wiring closets – this risk can be mitigated by applying policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for staff and visitors to secure facilities. Servers must sometimes be shut down to perform maintenance – this can be mitigated by creating a system to tie servers, storage devices, and the network together and created redundancy to prevent down time on mission critical services. Server operating systems vulnerability – this can be mitigated by ensuring all server operating system environments are defined with the proper patches and updates. And lastly cloud computing virtual environments are not secure by default configurations – can be mitigated with setting up virtual firewalls and server segments on separate VLANs to help prevent failure in the network.
As its core essences cloud computing is nothing but a specialized form of grid computing and distributing computing’s which various in terms of infrastructure , deployment, service and Geographic’s dispersion (Veeramachanenin, Sepetember 2015) the cloud enhance scalability, collaboration, availability , ability to adapt to fluctuation according to demand accelerate development work and provide optional for cost reduction and through efficient and optimized computing. (BH kawljeet, June 2015) cloud computing (CC) recently become as a new paradigm for the delivery and hosting of services our the internet. There are mainly three service delivery model Software as Service (SaaS) required software, operating system and network is provided or we can say in SaaS the customer can access the hosted software instead of installing it in local computer and the user can access these software through local computer internet browser (e.g web enabled E-mail ) the user only pay and the cloud service provider is responsible for management or control of mobile cloud infrastructure some of the company which provide such service are Google, Microsoft , Salesforce ,Facebook, etc…..Infrastructure as Service(IaaS)the cloud provider only provide some hardware resources such as network and virtualization is
Cloud computing is a very ambiguous term as everyone seems to have a different definition of what it means. One definition was suggested by Simon Wardley and Connonical (2009) who believed cloud computing to be a “generic term used to describe the disruptive transformation in IT towards a service based economy driven by a set of economic, cultural and technological transformations”. As a metaphor for the Internet, "the cloud" is a familiar term, but when it is combined with the term computing, the meaning gets broader and much harder to explain. Some individuals define cloud computing as an updated version of utility computing which started up in the 1960’s while others believe cloud computing is a term that defines a much larger range of services that include Saas (software as a service), platform as a service, MSP (managed service providers) and more. Cloud computing came into the spotlight when firms started thinking about a way to increase capacity or add capabilities instantly without investing in new infrastructure, training new employees, or licensing new software. Therefore it can be argued that cloud computing includes any subscription-based or pay-per-use service that extends a firms existing IT capabilities.
Cloud Computing is an exciting concept because it can do much more than just executing and streaming your data from one place to another. It is successful through its flexibility to meet each company's needs. Cloud Computing is generally broken into three main categories b...

Cloud computing is a model for delivering data resources to cloud end users, in which data resources are stored in distributed manner, data resources can be accessed on the internet using web-based tools and applications. Data and software packages are stored in server database. However, cloud server allows the cloud users to access data resources as long as system is connected to the internet.

Cloud computing is sort of like the first computers come full circle – in the early days of computing, users at terminals with no computing power to speak of made use of the number-crunching capabilities of mainframes in a shared fashion – in fact, the model of computer use was called “time-sharing.” As the personal computer grew in power and capabilities while also becoming a cheap...
Cloud computing is defined to be the use of computer programs and applications, to access information, storage, that is not stored locally on a computer’s hard drive, but rather over the Internet. There are five defining characteristics to cloud computing.
Cloud computing facilitates sharing of computing and storage resources with the aim of reducing computing expenses in organizations. Moreover, cloud computing facilitates information sharing among individuals within a cloud. Despite being advantageous, data stored in a cloud is usually prone to hacking and other security issues. This paper addresses the various mitigation measures that organizations are using to ensure that data stored in the cloud is secure.
The term used as cloud computing is a wide term. It includes a wide range of different services. Cloud computing is also known as on demand computing. This name is given to cloud computing because it provide online services to different persons on computer by sharing processing resources in addition with data to computers depending upon different demands.
Cloud storage basic terms, is a way to save information to the web that can managed data storage. Cloud computing services are online services, which store this information to a safe and secure location online. It’s offered a quicker, easier and safer backup than conventional methods of file storage such as bookshelves or cardboard files.
Cloud computing is the transfer of computing data or information into Internet. Cloud computing services allows individuals and businesses to
Cloud computing is a type of computing that depends on sharing computing resources rather than having local servers or personal device to handle applications.
