Specifically, the African American community has always been the target of such acts. Racial differences make a difference with how certain people see each other. Stereotyping based on perceptions of appearance is a big factor of how one may interact with someone. Police officers must learn to adapt to new culture, new people, and most importantly, new ways of policing in order to establish trust with each and every individual.
