Neptune was discovered after scientist noticed that Uranus orbit didn't follow Newton's law, it was presumed that there must be another planet. Galileo originally thought Neptune was a star. Pluto's orbit is so eccentric, it sometimes crosses the orbit of Neptune making Neptune the most distant planet from the Sun.
