In short, saying “One Nation under God” is a way of saying “a unified nation that trusts God to protect us from harmful evil”. This pledge was not targeted at one person but to a united alliance of 50 states that has formed a more perfect union. This alliance strives everyday to be a better version of humanity in order to serve as a beacon in this world. The Pledge of Allegiance is a reminder of the values that define an honorary American. What defines an honorary American does not only mean sacrificing a life, but can serve the country in many other ways. “In the United States, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance is a cherished tradition that resonates deeply with the American spirit” (Kirkland). This tradition that is being said every morning in school fills in deep with the American spirit. The American spirit is defined when representing the ability to freedom in many areas, which has become a beacon for people around the world. “This simple yet powerful act carries a profound meaning that extends far beyond a mere recitation of words.” (Kirkland). The powerful message that the pledge carries helps understand the loyalty and commitment to the United States. This form of loyalty helps express its love and dedication towards this country.
