Sheldon J. Plankton, one of many antagonists in the animated series, Spongebob Squarepants, is arguably one of the greatest villains of slapstick cartoon history. Although Plankton does not pose as much of a threat in many episodes, rather, he serves as some form of laughing stock, due to his incredibly small size and constant failures in attempt to steal the krabby patty secret formula. Occasionally, however, does Plankton utilize his cunning intelligence to devise an organized plan, along with some device to aid his attempt. Many of his attempts prove successful, only to fail at the last moment, due to the countless efforts of our protagonist fry-cook, Spongebob. This does not discourage our mischievously determined, one-eyed copepod from attempting another supposedly-foolproof plan of his. Plankton, like many other villains, is an evil-genius, having been able to build many complex gadgets to support his attempts at success, including his wife, which is an artificially intelligent robot capable of emotion, or brain-controlling devices. Another good representation of his genius include his knowledge of chemistry, such as his creation of a gas that, when inhaled, turns you into a baby. His great knowledge gives him the upper hand in many of his evil schemes, compensating for his small size and limited physical capabilities. …show more content…
Despite his large mental capacity, he is too often held back by his narrow-mindedness, acting as a filter for his great intelligence. Another notable quality about Plankton may be the fact that he is not entirely evil and is capable of compassion and understanding.
Nevertheless, he is a villain and commits crimes, but he is occasionally portrayed in the story as Spongebob's friend, interacting with one another as friends would do. Plankton especially shows love toward his computer wife, Karen, despite the many times he will ignore her input when discussing his evil plans. It's admirable that even a sliver of kindness exists within that concentrated square millimeter of evil. Not all villains must act like pure manifestations of evil to determine their
worth. Persistence is another key trait that I believe should be prevalent in antagonists and protagonists alike. Knowing to never give up, even when faced with moments of defeat, you shouldn't be discouraged to try again. Plankton has made hundreds of attempts to steal the krabby patty secret formula, gone to jail a number of times, and been inflicted bodily injuries in countless episodes, yet he is always eager to try a new plan, the next day. It'll take more than a couple trips to the hospital or county jail to stop this unicellular copepod from pursuing his goals. Evil villains may have character traits, somewhat similar to that of a hero, only to use those characteristics to their advantage in their evil plans. Many villains are known for their great intelligence and persistence, building contraptions to satisfy their selfish desires. However, many villains may be known for not being all that evil; maybe they have evil intentions, but have their good sides as well. With the evidence provided, one may come to the conclusion that Sheldon J. Plankton is an exceptional example of what a quality villain should be.
When Terry Malloy was first introduced, he did not make any indications that he would strive for the respect that he gained throughout the story. His tough-guy behavior and compassionate attitude has made him what he is: a hero. He never revealed what he was truly made of or what he was capable of. He always had low self-esteem about himself—repeatedly calling himself a “bum.” Despite his stubbornness to change and his ignorance to others, Malloy proves himself by doing what he knows is right to be a true hero.
The book entitled “The Iceberg Hermit” is about a leading character, Allan. This was written by Arthur Roth. This is about a story of Allan who is a living survivor of a wrecked ship and how he is to continue surviving without any signs of rescue. Summary
Squidward Tentacles is an employee at the Krusty Krab. He is a 34 year old male. He resides in Bikini Bottom. His hobbies include playing his clarinet and painting multiple pictures which he has false hope will one day be published in some museum. He has hatred for going to work, and is horrible with customer service. He exhibits a strong desire to fit in with a higher caste than himself. There have been many episodes though where when given the chance to prove himself worthy of a higher caste he will retreat to a safer place like his house. His esteem level seems very low. He never leaves his house other than for work either. He hates being social and that’s very obvious in every action Squidward carries out. He rarely dates and when he does there is never a second date. He is a healthy man of his age. He really doesn’t have many friends. There is his two neighbors Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star, they want to be friends with him but Squidward can barely tolerate either of them. He’s a very smart individual but has absolutely horrible social skills.
The show is a series of eleven-minute episodes. These episodes are jam packed with ironic inconsistencies in terms of plot structure and characters. While most shows have a unified plot that follows a certain order in each episode, Squidbillies takes the scrambled eggs approach to plot structure. The plots of Squidbillies episodes sometimes avoid the traditional elements of plot structure all together. Sometimes the show is anticlimactic. At times the show avoids exposition, slides into a resolution, and then moonwalks into a climax. As far as character traits are concerned, there are running jokes associated with the character's identities. Granny is either Early's mother or grandmother. There are hundreds of jokes associated with their ambiguous relationship. Early has a tenuous relationship with Granny to say the least. At times Early is loving and tender; sometimes he is harsh. Bill Nye is a key figure in the scientific community. His outreach to children and his involvement with educating the public and furthering scientific inquiry and research make him one of the most influential scientists of the 21st century. Bill Nye grew up in Washington DC, after attending Sidwell Friends School, a private school in Washington DC, Bill went to Cornell University and majored in Mathematical Engineering. Bill started his entertainment career with a show called Almost Live, a comedy show where a sketch called “Bill Nye The Science Guy” had Bill do small experiments on the show. Bill then became the main entertainer of the PBS show “Bill Nye The Science Guy”, a show aimed at preteens. The show ran from 1993 to 1999 and aired
Nobody can teach someone else how to grow up. You can’t force someone to mature and realize they need to stop being so profoundly immature. People have a difficult time with letting the past go and/or breaking old habits that they don’t want to change.
I do not therefore obey its laws, and I desire you never to allude to them before me again!" The narrator, Professor Aronnax, states, "This was said plainly. A flash of anger and disdain kindled in the eyes of the Unknown, and I had a glimpse of a terrible past in the life of this man" (73). Captain Nemo is outside of society, living deep in the oceans; he is the terror of the unknown. His ship, the Nautilus, is thought to be a sea monster, and the legend is talked about both in Europe and America, but the true nature of this "sea monster" is far more sinister because of the man that is at the heart of the beast....
The Mysterious Giant Squid About 80 percent of the Earth is covered in water. With the majority of life on this planet residing in the liquid we like to call the essence of life, we as humans represent a minority on this planet. Much of the underwater world remains a mystery to us, with the giant squid being one of the greatest mysteries of them all. How close are we to actually solving the mystery of this deep water giant? For the first known citation of one of these creatures, you would have to go back to November of 1861, when crew members of the French dispatch steamer Alecton spotted what appeared to be a large sea monster off the coast of the Canary Islands.
In “The Shark” by EJ Pratt, the poet tends to use “he” when referring to the shark. The poet also describes the shark in a way that leads us to think that the shark is a symbol representing war. The poet suggests this by using metal descriptions of the shark such as “sheet iron”, “three-cornered”, “knife-edge”, “tubular” and “metallic grey” (4-6, 10, 19-20). So it could be that the poet is doing this to associate the shark with weapons used as war alas the association of metal in the poem. In my version, the shark is “she” rather than “he”. This changes the meaning of the poem. The meaning that I am trying to send to the readers is how women tend to think of each other. In the original version, the poet associates the shark with metal description. In my version, the metal descriptions as mentioned above are now “pennant flag”, “silvery grey”, “keen-edge” and “cannular” (4-6, 10, 19-20). Women are different from men. They do not use violence to solve matters, but rather they use their words and intelligence. When using these words, you can feel the change of tone from a harder tone to a softer one which is similar to the difference of violence and words. In line 15, the shark snaps at a flat-fish. In my version also line 15, the shark only glowers because females are not as aggressive as males. Females tend to look down upon other females just as the shark is doing in the poem.
For my video paper I chose to do a Pixar movie called Finding Nemo. Although Pixar movies are more aimed for the younger generations, it is becoming more popular for these movies to be introduced in the classrooms. In our DeVito text it shows and explains all the different forms of communication that can be related back to Finding Nemo. Along with other Pixar movies, they all portray many different aspects of communication. Nonverbal communication is presented in the movie by using gestures/movement. Although cartoon characters are not actually real people in the movie, they are created by real people who have experienced nonverbal communication in their lives.
The story begins when they moved in to the castle. Coraline´s parents already had their work and had to write a book catalog for a garden store. Coraline seemed to be bored so she told her mother she was but instead of telling her what to do she shouted to her to go and look for something to herself. She went to her father who was also working on the book catalog and told him. He told her to explore the castle and look how many windows and door it had.

As most may only know from what they have seen in movies, pirates ran rather free in the late 1600s. Piracy was an easy means to accumulate wealth by stealing from merchant trading vessels. With the lack of technology during this time, there was no way of monitoring and controlling the free seas. Jack Sparrow, (made famous form the Pirates of the Caribbean series) is a fine example of a free roaming pirate. Jack can and wants to be considered by his company as an elite pirate due to the fact that he is a captain. Through the use of referencing to scenes from The Pirates of the Caribbean movies, this paper will strive to diagnosis jack sparrow of his possible disorders, and attempt to teach him some different treatment options that may help him cope with or eliminate his symptoms in an attempt to ride him to ride him of his disorder entirely.
