Plagiarism, what is it and how to avoid it has been a major question on every students’ mind. Of course it is pretty easy to simply just copy and paste, but do we really know what that means? The words “copy and paste” are an exact definition on what plagiarism is. It is basically the taking of someone’s work, pasting it, and taking all the credit that should initially go towards the author or publisher. I personally despise this filthy act of profound immorality, and injustice, but several students around the nation are participating in this unlawful act. These people simply had a choice, made the wrong choice, and expect to get away with the fact that they had cheated. As stated in source A, “Forget passing handwritten notes underneath desks or inking your arm with essential math formulas before a killer test. If students today want to cheat, they have a more insidious tool at their despoil: Cell phones. More than one third of teens with cell phones admit to having stored information on them to look at during a test or texting friends about answers, a new survey finds.” This basically tells us there is a new way of cheating because it proves that there are too many incidents of plagiarism and cheating, but most of all it tells us that the source of cheating in the classroom is the use of cell phones. If parents take away cell phones, or if the school bans the use of technology in the building, the rate of cheating on tests would automatically drop. Source A says just that “Families should establish open communication about the use of technology in school-including a strict set of guidelines for kids to follow-and understand that kids are cheating.” I agree with this quote, because if students follow a set of orders instructed by an official, they would be more hesitant to cheat, and would think twice before texting their friends the answers on a
