This essay will encounter The Long Island Rail Road first years making. The rail road was developed because the rail roads planners wanted to expand a way to get to Boston. In order for this view to happen, the service needed to make rail-road through Long Island, so they made the LIRR with the help of legislature supplying the money with 1,500,000$. This caused for New York or Brooklyn to be linked to Boston. Even though the money was good start for making the rail road, it was still very difficult to make so they to find ways to make it more efficient.
The Great Depression was a very difficult time in American history. The Great Depression was the longest and most severe depression that was experienced in the Western World. The movie Riding the Rails is a good example of times during this depression. The movie presents a story of ten men and women in their youth, who gave their accounts about leaving their homes in search of a better life. I think Riding the Rails gives a very clear and accurate view of how life was for young teenagers during these historical times.
Orphan trains and Carlisle and the ways people from the past undermined the minorities and children of America. The film "The orphan Trains" tells us the story of children who were taken from the streets of New York City and put on trains to rural America. A traffic in immigrant children were developed and droves of them teamed the streets of New York (A People's History of the United States 1492-present, 260). The streets of NYC were dirty, overcrowded, and dangerous. Just as street gangs had female auxiliaries, they also had farm leagues for children (These are the Good Old Days, 19). During the time of the late 1800's and early 1900's many people were trying to help children. Progressive reformers, often called "child saver," attempted to curb exploitation of children (The American Promise, 834). One of the people who was obsessed with the plight of children was a man named Charles Brace. He created the NY "Children's Aid Society". This was a program that was best known for "Orphan Trains". In 1853, Brace founded this society to arrange trips, raise the money, and obtain legal permission needed for relocation (the Orphan trains, 1). The reaction to the orphan trains were both positive and negative.

As a freight trucking provider, Knight-Swift Transportation (KNX) faces a litany of potential risks and there is a strong need for enterprise risk management. Given the competitive nature of the industry, small mispricing’s on shipping costs or incorrect fuel cost projections can have devastatingly negative effects on company profitability. New regulation from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), in an effort to enact stricter rules on diver logging and limiting weekly travel hours could have adverse effect on the company. Additionally, talent acquisition/retention poses as a rising threat to Knight-Swift Transportation . The long hours on the road and limited base pay can make it hard to find motived drivers to work. Oftentimes, the world materializes itself into a whirlwind of unpredictable chaos that consumes all of whom try to work through it. These people find themselves wishing the specious ideal that, by some intervention, all control over the world would be theirs. In Michael Crichton’s The Great Train Robbery, a similar lust for ascendancy induces Edward Pierce to his criminal act of robbing the train. Due to his need for control, Edward Pierce manipulates the situation in his favor to show his influence over all obstacles, including the law itself.
The civil rights movement was a period during the 1960s where African Americans fought for social, educational, and political equality in a society that had degraded them for centuries. This ultimately led to more social, educational, and political equality for African Americans in Memphis.

The most differentiating factor between humans and other creatures on earth is humanity's insatiable desires and emotions that defy all evolutionary logic. Michael Crichton’s The Great Train Robbery tells a story of a man driven by these desires and emotions to put his life at risk with one of the most daring crimes of his time. The man, known as Edward Pierce, has little insight to his mysterious character as he is often lacking of emotion and never straightforward with anyone else in the novel. However, there is enough evidence to deduce his primary motives behind the robbery. The Great Train Robbery, conveys its Pierce as an unfeeling sociopath, who is driven not by greed or a desire for fame, but by his extreme sense of self-pride.
One modernization in agriculture was the utilization of the railroads for distribution. Railroads provided farmers with the ability to ship their products vast distances. No longer were their markets limited to their local towns, but they could now reach a market on the opposite side of the country. Competition between railroad companies also contributed to lower fares, which helped the farmers cheaply move their wares to their chosen markets (Text Pgs. 524-525).

Taj Mahal. ( Mahal is the word in urdu language used for Palace) How can I describe The Taj Mahal? You can’t its impossible. You just have to experience it. To gaze in wonder at that magnificent dome and elegant gardens will be a moment that you remember for the rest of your life. It is one of the greatest sights in the world, some say the greatest, and like Victoria Falls, The Grand Canyon, and Macchu Picchu, it simply is one of those things you have to see in your life. The architectural grace and symmetry of the Taj Mahal just takes your breath away. We had chosen our visit carefully--the sun was setting and the light that washed over the Taj was golden in color. The minarets were now stark against the setting sun . The actual dome was a surprise, it is not yellow-white but blue-white and covered in inscriptions and detail. From below it looked like something out of "Arabian Nights." But inside were the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. The central tomb is a lofty chamber with light streaming through fine latticework, and hanging above was an elaborate lamp. Words cannot describe its beauty when you stand on that marble platform overlooking the Yamuna, with the setting sun turning it into a golden ribbon. You may a...
