There are many different types of pill mediums on the market, but the real question is which medium is the most effective. It is crucial to determine the most effective pill medium because it allows consumers to access the best medication on the field that is guaranteed to ease their comfort while they are sick or in pain. There are many ways to determine the effectiveness of medication mediums, but dissolution will be the main focus. Dissolution refers to “the process of a solute dispersing/dissociating in a solvent, forming a molecular level, chemically and physically homogeneous dispersion, called a solution” (Remington Education…). Therefore, in this scenario, the main goal of a dissolution test is to identify information on drug release.
It is important to consider dissolution in pharmaceutical technology because the test is used to analyze the performance of drugs and their dosage forms (Siew). With the help of a dissolution test, it ensures consumer satisfaction in the medication they are buying with the intention of relieving uncomfortable symptoms presented by illness and injury. Over the years, dissolution tests have evolved to include more than the common tablets and capsules (Suresh). In addition, many different apparatuses have been developed to test dissolution rates. The different apparatuses contribute to the different pill mediums available. In addition to the dissolution rate, the pill mediums should be examined. There are the normal tablets and capsules, but there are also gel cap and coated tablets. However, does the fancy appearance really contribute to the effectiveness of the medication? Gel caps are said to maybe increase the absorption speed, but are also big to accommodate the amount of medication needed to be packed within the cap (“Gel Caps or Coated?”). Coated tablets go down easier, but may delay the absorption rate. Therefore, the following experiment will determine which pill is the most effective in its dissolution rate. In conclusion, a dissolution test is a satisfactory tool of measurement when determining the effectiveness of pill mediums. With further examination, the ideal pill medium can be determined because of the rapidness of its dissolution rate.
The quicker the tablets will dissolve because there will be more water. particles to collide with. So the rate increases. * If the amount of tablets being used is increased for the same amount of water, i.e. as concentration increases, rate will increase. increase as well because there will be more collisions between particles.

To begin, Crystal Eastman first published her article in 1918. She produced the source for a large target audience. The article was originally published in a radical journal called Birth Control review. The source’s purpose was to inform women that, whether the law stated so or not, they had a choice as to whether or not to conceive a child. The purpose of the source is to demand that women take control of their bodies. “I would almost say, that the whole structure of the feminist’s dream of society rests upon the rapid extension of scientific knowledge about birth control.” (Eastman, Pg.510).
The solubility of a substance depends on the used solvent and the temperature and pressure. Solubility results from simultaneous and opposing dissolution and phase joining. To dissolve is to break into smaller pieces.Even if something’s dissolved, the solute is still there. When something is insoluble, you can’t dissolve it, and you can see it floating on the surface of the water.

contamination, toxicity, and side effects. Most people believe these medications are compounded or mixed by a trained and licensed individual. However, this is inaccurate because the pharmacy technician actually compounds a large percentage of a patient’s medications. Compounding involves a techn...
In this mind baffling speech by Margaret Sanger, she explains the importance of attaining birth control as a female. She believes that “birth control should be available to every adult man and woman” (The Morality of Birth Control). In her opinion, every person over 18 should at least obtain knowledge of it, and try to practice it as much as possible. “Not only will birth control reduce the rate of disease and famine, it will also help heighten the standards of civilization towards teen pregnancy and child abortion” (Population Growth and Resource Depletion). Only then will people attain real morality.
In today's world, the subject of abortion is a very controversial issue. Some people are totally decided on pro-life or pro-choice, but most are somewhere in between and have mixed feelings. Abortion has been a very important issue since the early 1980's when the topic started to gain popularity. Since then, horrible things have happened to put abortions in the hot seat. There have been bombings on clinics, murders of abortion doctors, and protests that have turned violent. There should be a more discrete and private way to have an abortion without all those hassles. There has been development of a new pill that can help to cool down some heated abortion issues. The new pill is called the RU-486, or commonly referred to as the morning after pill. If the new pill is made legal, it can create a private way for women to have an abortion without having a surgical procedure done, and the pressures of the surrounding world would not be there influencing their decisions.
Contraception, contragestion, (preventing the fertilized egg from implantation - morning-after-pill) and the chemical or surgical induction of abortion are all types of birth control routes to prevent or end pregnancy (“What”). Contraception is the devices, drugs, agents, sexual practices, or surgical procedures to prevent a pregnancy. Contraception tends to help a women decide if and when she would want to have a baby (“What”). There are around 17 different types of birth control methods. According to the article from Oxford there are three main categories of contraception. They are the barrier methods, intrauterine, and the hormonal methods (“Contraception”). They vary from a pill, patch, shot, an implant and a condom to name a few. The most common type of contraception for women is the birth control pill. This pill includes estrogen and progestin to stop the release of the egg and thin the lining of the uterus. If the contraception device is used correctly, only about 3 in every 1,000 women will beco...
San Francisco “a self-proclaimed gay city” is home to two gay men who are partners. One is a HIV- and the other is HIV-positive. Max Cameron and Drew Sebastian are not only a gay couple with ordinary jobs, but both work in the porn industry. According to a documentary PSA from Fusion TV, they work for Treasure Island Media, who was under fire for health law violations, having their actor perform bareback scenes, which is sex without a condom, and having fellow HIV-positive actors star in their productions. Max admits on camera and is shown to be taking an FDA approved pill Truvada produced by the Gilead company according to Barmann. Truvada is pill that prevents the spread of HIV and from people becoming infected from the disease regardless of an individual’s status. When the topic of sex becomes the conversation, many people falter back due to their preconceived notions about sex, and many become uncomfortable. With a controversial subject of HIV, Truvada has been treading the waters for some time; the pill introduced in 2012 is barely making headlines. Truvada a pill that prevents HIV, is hardly being promoted with the fear people would start to have unsafe sex, but if properly endorsed and educated it can present a new way of thinking toward sex and HIV.
Hormonal contraception refers to “birth control methods that act on the endocrine system” (Correa, Petchesky, 1994, p.3). Throughout history the development of hormonal contraception has been viewed as a wonderful, more convenient method to avoid unwanted pregnancies. This is seen to many as a positive thing for women’s equality. However, hormonal contraception has only been developed for females. Current methods of hormonal contraception have many harmful side effects that can alter the mental and physical health of an individual. These side effects negatively impact on heterosexual women’s lives, as many feel “pressure and responsibility” (Lipton-Lubet, 2012) to take hormonal contraception if they do not want to conceive.
Dissolution is the process of a solute dissolving in a solvent. There are three steps to the dissolution process. The first step is the solute particles to break apart. The second step is for the solute ions to enter the liquid. The third and last step is for the solvent molecules to surround the solute ions.
Solubility is the property of a solid, liquid or gaseous chemical solute to dissolve in a solid, liquid or gaseous solvent to form a solution [1]. The solubility of a particular substance is dependent on the physical and chemical properties of both the solute and solvent [1]. The temperature, pressure and pH of the solution also has an effect on the solubility. The extent of the solubility of a certain solute in a particular solvent is measured as saturation, where adding more solute will not increase the concentration of the solution and will precipitate the excess in the solution.
Others are progestin-only. Pills contain hormones that work in different ways. The condoms are a sheath made of thin latex or plastic to cover the penis before intercourse to keep sperm from joining the egg. No matter how old one is it is very important to use condoms with another method of birth. There are a large variety of birth control options on the market these days.
