Pierre Trudeau has significantly impacted Canada
The government has truly been molding Canada into the wonderful country that it is today. Whether the changes have been good or bad, the government has always been trying their best to solve problems such as takes high income, racism, and making sure that Canada is seen as the cleanest and economically friendly place that it is today. However, Pierre Elliot Trudeau was unique and impacted Canadians in a positive way. He was an intelligent, and strategic man, when dealing with many different types of crisis’s, such as the economic crisis. Always put his citizens before himself, and felt that everyone should be treated equally with their own individual rights. Obviously, without Pierre Trudeau,

the way that we live today would not have been as valuable, or favorable. As a man who vowed his words, Pierre Elliot Trudeau always put others before himself. For instance he fought and won to keep Quebec as part of Canada. When doing this he could have risked his life, and many people could have assassinated him because adding or taking away a province from another country can create other numerous amount of issues. Also, this shows that Pierre Elliot Trudeau put others before himself because he knew what was right for Canada as a whole and did not think about all of the haters he may receive from other places around the world for keeping Quebec as a part of Canada. Thus, creating a higher chance of him not being elected as Prime Minister in following years because people will not be realizing how his plan of keeping Quebec a part of Canada will do for Canadians in the future. Finally, Pierre Trudeau fighting to keep Quebec as a part of Canada shows that he has put his citizen before himself because he truly knows what would be the best for citizens in Quebec. If he were to let Quebec go, he would be having less stress on himself having to deal with the provinces. Clearly, Pierre Trudeau wanted what was best for his citizens and was more important to himself than making sure that his own life was safe. Pierre Trudeau also shows his ability to self sacrifice by having no tolerance for terrorists, even if it meant that he would become a main target. He made sure that all terrorists are stopped with any means. This puts more of a target on his back because others will think that he is the main problem of the issue, and will want to overcome him to succeed their goals. His no tolerance for terrorist shows that he is self sacrificing, and only thinking about his citizens, because he was creating orders that may have made him look like a bad, and useless Prime Minister because he might use a lot of money to stop Terrorists from attacking. This proves that he was not doing his job for glory, but for his love of the citizens. Finally, having a no tolerance for terrorists shows that he cared more about his citizens that himself because this means he would use a lot of his own free time to make sure that the world is aware of terrorists and this means he will be using most of his time with his citizens than by himself creating more things to work on, and making him busier than he already is. A final reason that Pierre Trudeau has put his citizens before himself is because he was able to separate Canada from Britain. This shows that he cares more about the citizens than himself .Since he was able to do this, his citizens did not have to follow the laws Britain had to. Thus, giving his citizens more rights, and capabilities. Separating Canada from Britain also shows his love for his citizens because he had to fight for it, and had to fight for many things people may disagree with. A final reason that this shows how much he cares about his citizens was because he had used a lot of his free time to prepare, so that he would be able to win the rights to separate Canada from Britain; Similarly, of how he was able to let Quebec stay as part of Canada. As you can see, Pierre Trudeau was a very selfless person who cares about his Citizens more than he cared about himself. Not only was Pierre Trudeau a selfless man, but he was also a very intelligent and strategic person. For instance, he created the War Measurement Act, this made sure that all people who may have seemed to be enemies were put in jail without question. This proves that he was a strategic person because he was highly reducing the amount of any type of criminal attack his citizens, or himself. It was a very intelligent act because it made others think before they act because they would know about the consequences they would have to face if they showed any signs of it. This would make them not even think about the plan, and to simply forget about it. Finally, this act shows that Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a very intelligent and intellectual person because it was able to put an end to the October Crisis, which was a crisis that many thought would not even for a long time. Without a doubt, being Bilingual shows that Trudeau was an intelligent and strategic man. After all, he was able to persuade people in the language that they better understood. Also, this trait shows that he was a very hard working person, because learning a language takes a lot of time and effort. This shows that he was very dedicated and would do whatever it would take to make Canada better. Finally, being bilingual relates to Pierre Trudeau being a very intelligent and strategic person because he could use it to create allies with other countries, and make sure that other countries would help him when he needs them. Lastly, Pierre Trudeau is known to be a very strategic man because he studied law at the University of Montreal. This shows that he knows all the laws, meaning that he was prepared if Canada was ever being accused of doing something that was not allowed. Pierre Trudeau will know how to counter the person, so that nothing extreme would damage Canada. Also, he was able to go to University, and at the time when Pierre was studying, the curriculum would have been much harder, and difficult. Therefore, if he was able to get an education in law that proves he was a very strategic and intelligent person. Finally, being able to study law at the University of Montreal shows that he was a very intelligent person because he was able to get his degree in that University, and that University had majored in law. This means that it was even harder to get the degree in that certain University because it was very intense. Since, he was very intelligent, he had the pleasure of being an assistant professor at the University of Montreal teaching law. As you can see, Pierre Trudeau was a very intelligent and strategic person. This proves that Pierre Trudeau’s intelligence had a significant impact on Canada. A final reason that Pierre Trudeau has had a significant impact on Canada was because he felt that everyone deserved their own rights.
For instance, Pierre felt that nationalism was not the right thing to have and was not necessary. This was because it was racist and threatening to individual freedoms. Also, he believed that nations were formed based on common language, religion and or background. Pierre Trudeau felt that nationalism was discriminating, and in a way dividing everyone up, and separating people from one another based on religion. Pierre showed his belief in individual rights by reforming the laws on divorce, and homosexuality. This let people express themselves the way they wanted to be treated without being in trouble. For instance, men were allowed to dress, and look the way that they wanted to look without being reported for disturbance. This charismatic politician felt that judging someone based on their gender preference was ridiculous and immoral. Furthermore, it helped people realize that being unique from others is a good thing, and that they should never live their life in a way, so that they do not feel comfortable. This also made people more accepting of the way others lived. Finally, it gave people the chance to be able to divorce without being judged. Pierre Trudeau also changed the abortion laws. This allowed people abort children without being judged which would help them not have to have a child if they did not want to. This gave others more freedom. This also allowed people to abort children if they felt that having a baby was too painful, and unbearable. Many people felt that having a baby was something they would not want to go through because it would affect the way they could live for the next nine months of their lives, and how they could spend their money for the next 20 years of their lives. This rule also allowed others to live life more peacefully. People would have less stress in their head. Finally, people we are able to
make their own decisions and follow what they believe. Before this rule, people would not be allowed to abort children, and would physically emotionally damage the woman who was pregnant. Some felt that they were not ready to be parents, and others may not have had the money to help support a child for at least the next two decades of their lives. Pierre Trudeau felt that everyone had their individual rights, for themselves. Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a powerful man who significantly impacted Canada in a way so that everyone would be happy. Many Prime Ministers have wanted to become Prime Minister for the glory, and appreciation. Later, some failed to recognize the importance of what being a Prime Minister was, and do not portray Canada the way it should be. However, Prime Minister, Pierre Elliot Trudeau not only made Canada an easier place to live in, yet a much enjoyable place. For example, Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau has made sure others were safe, happy satisfied. He made sure citizens had their own individual rights, and finally, his intelligent and strategic thinking. He never failed to have a plan. As far as one can see, Pierre Trudeau affected Canadians in a positive and beneficial way.
...e to power in Quebec. This indicates that Quebecers supported non-violent methods in order to achieve independence for Quebec, rather than the violent methods of the FLQ, also indicating that the efforts of the FLQ would have been subdued by the Parti Quebecois. The death of Pierre Laporte was another unfortunate occurrence as a result of the War Measures Act which could have been avoided, yet some still believe his death is not related to the invocation of the War Measures Act. Justification is required for all actions which spark debate, and in events where the justification is provided under false pretences, someone must be held responsible. In this case it remains the Trudeau government. Trudeau may have had an admirable political career in which he made many wise decisions, however, the invocation of the War Measures Act in October 1970 was not one of them.
Louis St. Laurent managed to prevent the government and cabinet from collapsing, during one of Canada’s largest crises. He also helped assert Canada’s independence, by separating the influence of American culture, and providing more Canadian tradition. As well as succeeded in convincing Newfoundland to join confederation, after it failed to do so many times before. Overall there were many challenges to face during Louis St. Laurent’s years as a politician, however in the end he managed to maintain himself, succeeded in achieving many great accomplishments, and even created many historical moments for Canada along the way.
The years following the Second World War were bleak in regards to Canada's future as a country, with the public and politicians alike set against each other, but soon a Québec man by the name of René Lévesque entered journalism, and then politics, voicing his views for all to hear, with great success and vigour. Though obstacles presented themselves often in his life, he changed the views of Québec, Canada and the world as a whole. René Lévesque was a passionate and charismatic politician who greatly contributed to post-war Québec and even today through his beliefs in separatism, founding the Parti Québecois and passing Bill 101.

...ich are educated in and more. He set out the rights that Manitobans deserve. He got us into the country we call our own and finally, he gave us a hero, an icon, a leader to admire and look up to. It is clear that he changed Manitoba forever and without him who knows where we might be.
In conclusion, Pearson strengthened Canadian nationalism, promoted equality that is now an integral part to the Canadian identity, and he introduced several important social programs that continue to support Canadians. The ongoing benefits to Canadians from his contributions make him the most significant post WWII Prime Minister of Canada. Without the leadership of this influential Canadian, Canada would not be as strong a nation as it is today.
Canada experienced the revolution of changing politics and new ideologies, it was a necessary wave
Many Francophones believed that they were being discriminated and treated unfairly due to the British North American Act which failed to recognize the unique nature of the province in its list of provisions. Trudeau, with the aid of several colleagues, fought the imminent wave of social chaos in Quebec with anti-clerical and communist visions he obtained while in his adolescent years. However, as the nationalist movement gained momentum against the Provincial government, Trudeau came to the startling realization that Provincial autonomy would not solidify Quebec's future in the country (he believed that separatism would soon follow) and unless Duplessis could successfully negotiate (on the issue of a constitution) with the rest of Canada, the prospect of self-sovereignty for Quebec would transpire. His first essay (Quebec and the Constitutional Problem) explores
The result of the Second World War fundamentally changed Canada and its economy started booming. There are many reasons for this change and if you remember, World War I also made a big impact on the development of Canada. However, in the next few paragraphs I will talk about how Canada gained much more respect and autonomy from the Second World War than ever before and also the change from a country into an industrialized nation.
...n of their cabinet, while others may choose to create a new political path without consulting the views of their party. Mellon thinks that the Canadian government is under dictatorial scrutiny, whereas Barker contradicts this belief. The idea of a prime-ministerial government is certainly an over exaggeration of the current state of Canada. There are too many outside and inside forces that can control the powers the Prime Minister of Canada. Furthermore, there are several outside sources that indicate a good government in Canada. The United Nations annually places Canada at the top, or near the top of the list of the world’s best countries in which to live. These outcomes are not consistent with the idea of a one ruler power. Canada is not ruled by one person’s ideas, suggestions, and decisions, but by government approved and provincially manipulated decisions.
Pierre Trudeau is the greatest Canadian of the twentieth century due to the fact that he declared Canada’s independence from Great Britain, he abolished the death penalty, and he created the Official Languages Act, making our nation entirely bilingual.
“Canada emerged from the First World War a proud, victorious nation with newfound standing in the world. It also emerged grieving and divided [and] forever changed by the war’s unprecedented exertions and horrific costs.” Some of the social impacts of World War I on Canada include the fact that during the war as mentioned above, the status of women improved and resistance by men against acknowledging the abilities of women were gradually set aside. Also during the war women participated in many activities that promoted their cause for social, economic and politic equality, such as suffrage. Moreover, political impacts of the First World War on Canada involved, the suffrage political goal finally being won in 1919 when women got the right
If I were the prime minister of Canada, I would strive to accomplish and strengthen three major things. First, I would make sure that our educational system maintains strong and will make others succeed in life, second, I would make sure that everyone has equal and fair treatment in our society, and lastly, I would make sure every Canadian family can live happily by reducing tax.
Harold Cardinal made a bold statement in his book, The Unjust Society, in 1969 about the history of Canada’s relationship with Aboriginal peoples. His entire book is, in fact, a jab at Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s idea of ‘the just society’. Pierre Elliott Trudeau made great assumptions about First Nations people by declaring that Aboriginal people should be happy about no longer being described as Indian. His goal was to rid Canada of Indians by assimilating them into the Canadian framework. Considered by many as a progressive policy, Trudeau’s white paper demonstrates just how accurate the following statement made by Harold Cardinal at the beginning of his book is : “The history of Canada’s Indians is a shameful chronicle of the white man’s disinterest,
The post-war time was a period where major changes were occurring. After being involved in two international conflicts, Canada was ready to reestablish their economy. During this time, Canada had started working on ways to become stronger and reputable. It is evident that Canada had matured through the post-war era. Canada’s economic progress left a positive impact on the growth of the country as consumerism became popular, and economic ties with America became stronger. Moreover, the removal of racial and ethical barriers contributed to Canadian social affairs such as the huge wave of immigration and the baby boom. The Canadian government also had become more aware and involved in issues impacting Canadian citizens. Canada as a whole started identifying itself as an independent nation and participating in events that brought a positive reputation amongst them. These economical, social, and legal changes helped Canada mature into the country it is today.
