Pia the Persian cat is a friendly cat.
Pia is too friendly that almost every cat in the neighbourhood knows her very well. However, she can never have the courage to approach a certain Calico cat. Candy, being a Calico cat, makes her different from the rest of the clutter due to her special fur. Unlike the rest of the cats, Candy has ugly spots of black and brown all over her white fur. So, she is always mocked by Pia’s friends thanks to her unique fur. While Pia’s friends, Pete and Pat, think that Candy’s fur is hideous, Pia thought that it is beautiful and should not be made fun of. Nevertheless, Pia could never gather the courage to protect Candy in fear of losing her friends in return. Thus, Pia only stood still and merely watched Candy

Pia turned her head sharply to see Pete and Pat pulling Candy’s tail repeatedly. “Please stop, I’ll do anything for you!” Candy wailed in pain. Even with Candy’s repeated cries, Pete and Pat never stopped what they are doing. That is when Pia decided enough is enough.
“Leave her alone!” Pia stood in front of Candy, protecting her from the two cats. “You’re taking this way too far!”
Pete laughed softly, “Don’t worry about this ugly cat, we’re only having fun!” Pat agrees with a hum in response.
Pia was furious. In an instant, she clawed against Pete’s paw and glared at him menacingly. “Having fun? Both of you are clearly hurting her! Besides, you guys keep disturbing her only because of her fur, so who are the ugly ones here?” Pia snarled. At this, Pete’s and Pat’s eyes widened as big as a tennis ball and remained silent. Eventually, they could not say anything and left, with their tail drooping behind their backs.
After the two troublemakers left, Candy let out a sob. Immediately, Pia grabbed the calico’s cheeks in concern. “Hey, please don’t cry.” Pia says, voice dripping with worry. “It’s going to be okay, they’re gone now.”.
“I’m so sorry you have to go through all that trouble. If it weren’t for my unpleasant fur, they would not have bothered me in the first place.” Candy
“I don’t get it. Why did you have to give me a pet name in the first place? What’s the point?”
and she still hadn’t gone to any classes the first day she got kicked out cause of Nick the second she got trapped indoors because of...nick. he was starting to become a real problem and being his roommate didn’t make it any easier. Both Nick and her were off today no classes which was great. Because through over four showers and a whole lot of scrubbing she still had a few dark spots on her fur. She was worried about today but for other reasons.
" I am going save him, it is happier than anything." Candy said to himself.
For example, Curley’s wife attempts to interact with Lennie. She convinces Lennie to stay and converse with her after reasoning “what kinda harm am I doin’?” (88). Curley’s wife enjoys talking with Lennie and even lets him pet her prized hair. Additionally, Crooks finds companionship with Lennie. “I thought I could jus’ come in an’ set” (68) Lennie exclaims to Crooks the night the other men were out. He kept him company and both ultimately bonded after having a good time with each other. Also, Candy introduces himself to Lennie and George when they first arrive at the ranch. They develop a trust between each other, leading to the planning of “fixing up an’ little old house an’ go living there” (60). Trusting George, Candy generously donates funds to their future property, as a token for George appreciating him and making him feel important. Throughout the book, failure to interact between other characters happens often. For example, the men on the ranch consistently reject Curley’s wife, even her own husband, Curley. The men yell at her and question “why she doesn’t stay in her home where she belongs?” (62). Lennie tries conversing with her, but it only results with breaking her neck from strangling. Furthermore, Crooks tries talking to the other men, but results in exclusion and bullying. The other men discriminate Crooks from their activities, thinking “cause he’s black, he stinks” (68). Finally, Candy speaks to Carlson in the beginning in his bunker. Unfortunately, the conversation only ends with convincing Candy to have Carlson shoot his sheep dog, “to put the old devil out of his misery” (47). The shooting upsets Candy because his sheep dog was a son to him, followed him everywhere, and kept him company on the ranch. Through trial and error, Curley's wife, Crooks, and Candy interacts with other characters, resulting in successful and
In section two, Carlson’s belief that Candy’s old, useless dog represents to us the reality of this cruel world-the strong shall survive and the weak are unworthy. We all know that Lennie has mental disability and hence he cannot escape from this reality likewise. Another new character Curley is introduced to us, we are made to realize underlying threat this character would give. The pair manages to avoid Curley by sticking even closer to each other than usual. However, the only character which has relationship with Curley appears to be even a bigger threat. She is Curley’s wife, the only female in the ranch. When we l...

He unburied the puppy and inspected it, and he stroked it from ears to tail. He went on sorrowfully, “But he’ll know. George always knows. He’ll say, ‘You done it. Don’t try to put nothing over on me.’
Egypt is most often known for mummies, pyramids and other famous monuments such as the Sphinx at Giza. Egypt also made a name in art for its paintings, sculptures and the construction of its pyramids. All of these things were customarily created for the pharaohs and the worship of their gods and goddesses. Egyptian religion is polytheistic and their gods were anthropomorphic, meaning they had many gods that could take on both human and animal forms, including the feline. These animals were very well treated and worshiped just like a god or goddess. One of the most important animals considered divine in Ancient Egypt was none other than the feline. Egypt worshiped cats as gods and goddesses, mummified them to join their masters after death and even depicted them in statues and art (Ions, 126).
I turned over to face the wall so that they hopefully got the message. “George stop bein’ such a baby and grow up already!” Curley’s way of cheering someone up is questionable at times. I stayed quiet for a while. “George, man, we all know Lennie deserved to die!”
... time. She is desperate for company, so she ends up talking to the only people around. Candy, and Curley’s wife demonstrate how people act in desperation when they are lonely.
... character. When he was over they “they hardly ever stopped laughing”(23). He also had treats to give Vanessa when he was over. This shows Vanessa that although life is rough sometime, people have to look on the bright side of things.
but she is lonely for different reasons. Like Crooks Curley's wife suffers from... ... middle of paper ... ...ion. But Candy gets some life back in him when he hears George and Lennie talking about their dream farm. Hearing this gives Candy a reason to live.
Another piece of evidence for wanting a social life and attention is Curley’s wife saying, “...I met with one of the actors. He says I could go with show.” and shows have a lot of attention and more people to talk to after the show. The last decision she made was talking to Lennie the barn ALONE with no idea how disabled he is. This was a big turning point in the story for Curley’s wife and Lennie when she let Lennie touch her hair without stopping, which caused her to panic then Lennie starts to panic when she started screaming and after awhile died when Lennie broke her neck.Candy has some regret about some of the choices he made. When the people in the bunkhouse started complaining about the old smelly dog Candy had, Carlson suggested it to be put down. Candy thought his dog was just fine didn’t want him to be put down but Slim said he had to be put down. Candy didn’t have choice but listen even though he wanted to defend the poor old dog, so he told Carlson to shoot it. Carlson said it would be quick and Candy didn’t want to know or put down the dog himself at the time, but later he regrets not put it down
Miss Desjardin, still incensed over the locker room incident and ashamed at her initial disgust with Carrie, wants all the girls who made fun of Carrie suspended and banned from attending the school prom, but the principal instead punishes the girls by giving them several detentions. When Chris, after an altercation with Miss Desjardin, refuses to appear for the detention, she is suspended and barred from the prom and tries to get her fat...
