If you wanted to calculate m/s of any part of basketball you could use the average speed formula with is distance/time, or you could calculate the distance by rotating the formula around. For instance, if you wanted to shoot half-court you will need to put more mass onto the ball and increase your speed as the half court is quite far away from the hoop and you will need to use the protractor as an imagination as I said because you shouldn't shoot it in 90° however, it should be in 48 degrees because you increased the mass and speed to it would be more beneficial to hit the back board with then it would allow the ball to get into the hoop.
