On March 15, 2012 he chose to call detectives and describe the living conditions in the house. Titusville detectives went to the house on Barna Ave. to investigate these allegations. When describing a physical altercation between two adults, the term is assault and battery. Assault on an individual has more than immediate effects; the effects can last a lifetime in severe cases. In all fifty states, it is a crime to hit, strike or use corporal punishment in any deliberate manner towards any person over the age of eighteen. However, this law does not apply to physical force being used on minors. Spanking, whipping, and paddling are among a few common references to this form of punishment. Physically disciplining children has had many names over the years. No matter which term is used, corporal punishment has a negative impact on every party involved. It is a widely used, socially accepted method of discipline. “Approximately 94% of three and four-year old children have been spanked in the past year (Slade & Winssow 1321). Although spanking is a widespread practice, it is becoming more controversial. The negative effects of spanking greatly outweigh the benefits. Spanking is a socially tolerated view promoting abusive patterns, and has a negative psychological impact in teaching children that pain, fear, and confusion promote conformability.
For my research project I decided to do it on domestic violence. Domestic violence can be described as a violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner. Domestic violence can happen on the street, in one’s home or even in a public place. The people who are exposed to domestic violence can be children, men and women; women are usually the ones that suffer from domestic violence from their loved ones. There are plenty of subtopics to choose from that involves domestic violence, the sub topic that interested me the most was Police Officers that are involved in Domestic Violence acts. I chose to do my research topic on domestic violence because I want to learn more about the topic and who does it all effect and if someone is exposed to domestic violence could it harm them is some sort of way. Domestic violence among police officers happen more than usual and happens more compared to domestic violence in non-police officer families. The reason for this is because I believe it is all of the stress that police officers have on the job and what they have to deal with involving murders, rapist and all of the psychological problems they deal with on a daily basis on the job which causes the offices to drink and do drugs to get the mental pictures out of their heads of deaths and that can cause police officers to commit these domestic violence acts. When police officers are involved in domestic violence acts, what happens to them and can they get away with the assault compared to non-police officers just because they are a police officer?

The bruises of the heart linger forever; these bruises cannot heal as the bruise on the skin does. Emotional abuse does more harm to the heart that physical abuse does (Stosny, 2008). Mentally it will kill one inside, with fear from the heart all the way to the brain, you are affected in so many ways.Yes, physical abuse leaves bruises on the surface and scars in the heart, yet once they heal it seems to get easier to handle and deal with. Once words are spoken, they cannot be taken back, they will cut the heart like a knife with a wound that can never heal; therefore, think before you speak.

Nowadays within modern western societies, men who beat their wives tend to aim for the face, especially around the eyes. Therefore, black eyes are the most common form of direct violence. Some the victimized wives experienced nasal fractures. In assaults of non-spouses, injuries were distributed all over the body. One of their main goals might've been to stigmatized their wives of their physical dominance.
