Philosophy of School Counseling There are various factors which are causing an increase in students with academic, career and social deficiencies. It is imperative for counselors to follow the current guiding principles that specify counselors’ obligations and to be aware and practice ethical standards. Furthermore, a suggestion that is increasingly included in professional codes and training programs for a variety of dilemmas is increased consultation, which constitutes a different kind of breach of confidentiality to another professional under controlled and anonymous circumstances (Issacs, 2014). Furthermore, I must be knowledgeable in state and federal laws. Therefore, planning, preparedness, and commitment to ethical practices can ensure efficacy. Additionally, I will provide students with assistance through individual counseling, small groups, and large groups dependent on the situation. I also understand that it is imperative to collaborate with my colleagues, parents, and outside agencies for the benefit of the students. My goal is to empower students and their families so that they could achieve their goals, and for their emotional and social well-being. Unfortunately crises is an unavoidable part of life.
