Pursuing pharmacy as a profession derives deeply from my self-interest in studying pharmacology and medicinal chemistry. While attending a seminar held at the University of Minnesota by Dr. James R. Fuch, I witness the importance of drug kinetics, bioavailability, toxicity and how drugs are administered. It is then that ignited my curiosity into wanting to learn more about applying chemistry into health care and research. After completing a Drug and Alcohol Pharmacology course and attending various medicinal pharmaceutical chemistry seminars, I was self convinced that becoming a clinical research pharmacist is the right career path. I learned the significance of compounding Chemo drugs, working with software such as Dosage and how a pharmacist observes and makes professional decisions guaranteeing correct dosages before being administered to the patient. Comprehending the level of expertise gives me a first-hand information on how to be a pharmacist. Additionally I work as a Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Account Administrator at United Community Pharmacy. At United Community Pharmacy I work to recover finances that got lost by the pharmacy since it first was established. I interacted with patient prescriptions records and account histories. Much of my time I work along with pharmaceutical insurance on remittance files and pharmacy management. On the other hand, I support pharmacy technicians in prescription refills, prior authorizations and inventory returns. With a personal interest in the program,
I am determined to become a Pharmacist. My academic strength is in chemistry, biochemistry and research. Pursuing the pharmacy profession, I can have the assurance that the knowledge will continue to build on my prior experience. Having a health care experience and health working background helped me have a head start in knowing the exact values of becoming a future
