On behalf of Yanet Duran, I would like to take this opportunity to provide a letter of recommendation for employment. I have worked directly with Yanet for the past five years, and I have known her for over twelve years having been employed by the same company. In my position as a staff pharmacist and being the sole pharmacist when on duty, I function as the supervisor of pharmacy operations and staff. Our pharmacy is a high prescription volume, task oriented service department, located within a busy community grocery store. She was initially put into the job of pharmacy clerk but when there was an opening for a technician Yanet began immediately training as a technician. She successfully obtained her certification within six months. As a pharmacy technician, Yanet is responsible for the intake of prescriptions, obtaining patient demographic information, processing prescriptions presented in store, via fax, via e-script, adjudicating third-party payments, assembly of prescriptions for final check by the pharmacist, inventory management including processing daily wholesale drug orders, updating existing inventory, managing overstock, and processing outdated drugs. In addition, as staffing is highly variable and subject to corporate budgetary restrictions, at those times Yanet assumes the role of pharmacy clerk. Clerk responsibilities include selling prescriptions to the patient/patient's agent, obtaining verification via use of patient demographic information, obtaining documentation of prescription pick up from the customer, and securing proper payment. In addition, on weekends and holidays when staffing levels are at a minimum, technicians must also file prescriptions, re-stock pharmacy supplies, clean the pharmacy, and even take trash to the dumpster.
