In 1904 James Matthew Berrie wrote a book called Peter Pan and Wendy which was adapted into a play by Eric Stedman. Several decades later, it was turned into a Disney classic better known as Walt Disney’s Peter Pan. The movie adaptation was directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson, and Hamilton Luske and was released in 1953. Even though the film was based off the play, it still has many differences compared to the original play script. To begin, the begining to both the film and the script are very different. The play script begins with Mr.Darling in the house and he says,”A little less noise there! Help me with this tie, will you, dear?” It then goes on to the children asking Mrs.Darling to read them a bedtime story. The film begins with a shot of a window with Mr. Darling looking for his cufflinks. He asks Mrs. Darling if she has seen them and then accidently hits his head on one of the dresser drawers. Also, in the play the boys do not start sword fighting until after their mother attempts to tuck them into bed before they leave, but in the movie the kids are sword fightin...
