Recommended: Chemical and biological control of pests
A pest is an organism that competes with people for food or fiber and interfere with raising crops and livestock. There are four main types of pests: invertebrates Disease agents Weeds
Vertebrates
This paper mainly deals with insects, an example of invertebrate and the most common pests.
Pests can be beneficial, meaning that they may produce a product or a bi-product or their body may contain a dye or food resource. Eg:silk, honey,or insects that are used as bait for fish. There are harmful insects too that feed on plants or on food of humans and on grain storage and on forest tress causing huge economic losses. It is very important to understand what makes the insects to act as strong pests. There are several reasons, the most

Instead , they have hazardous effects on human, plant amd animal health. They also degrade soil quality and fertility. Therefore, there is a need for bio-compatible, green and efficient control measures that are harmless to environment. Research is in progress to employ nanotechnology to pest management.
NANOTECHNOLOGY FOR INSECT PEST MANAGEMENT
Nanotechnology has applications in wide range of fields like pharmaceuticals, electronics, medicine and agriculture including insect pest management. Nanopesticides, insecticides, enhancement of agricultural productivity using encapsulated nanoparticles for slow release of nutrients and water, nanoparticle-mediated gene or DNA transfer in plants to develop insect pest-resistant varieties and use of nanosensors, which would be useful in remote sensing devices required for precision farming are some examples of nanotechnology based insect pest measures.
Nanostructures occur in nature but were not given much importance. Research on nanotechnology have not used these naturally occurring materials. An example of nanostructures is hexagonal structures in the wings of cicada and termites. These nanoparticles help in the aerodynamic efficiency of the
To conduct the experiment, the beetles were massed, then attached to a petri dish with a 30 centimeter piece of dental floss. The beetle’s mass was the independent variable. Afterwards, the floss was tied to the beetle’s midsection with a slip knot. Then, the beetle was placed on a piece of fabric with the petri dish attached to it. As soon as the beetle was able to move with one paperclip inside the petri dish, more were added, one by one, until it could not move any further. After the beetle could not pull any more, the paperclips were massed and the results were recorded. The dependent variable was the mass that the beetles could pull. No control group was included in this experiment.
What is a pesticide?A pesticide is a chemical substance used to kill pests, especially insects. A pesticide is also refered to as a biocide. Most pesticides are applied in spray form but occasionaly you will see pesticides that are in powder or pellet form. Pesticides are used on a variety of things, anything from crops like corn, barley, and wheat, to plants like petunias, marigolds, and rhodadendrons, which are usually found in small gardens greenhouses, and even in your backyard.
The final results of 10 yellow bugs, 10 purple bugs, and 20 green bugs support the hypothesis. The

This paper do the research on the potential ecological and human health consequences of Bt plants, including effects on nontarget organisms, food safety, and the development of resistant insect populations. And it get the alternative insect management strategies. It turns out that scientists do not have full knowledge of the risks and benefits of any insect management strategies. The Bt plants has great benefit.
What is a pesticide? A pesticide is a substance meant for attracting, seducing, destroying, or mitigating a pest. They are known as a class of biocide. The common use of pesticides is as plant protection products. This in general protects plants from damaging influences, such as weeds, plant diseases, or insects (“Pesticides” Wikipedia).
...ortation of plants, fruits, vegetables, and animals. Indiscriminate pesticide use kills the good with the bad. Long term and wide spread pesticide use poisons underground water sources, which, in turn, poison plants, animals, and humans. And, finally, by our uninformed actions, new super races of pests continue to evolve and create even greater dangers than the original.
Firstly, for those of you who are worried about our rising population (nine billion people in 2050), you should know that currently, on the earth right now there are roughly 10 quintillion edible insects, or 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 insects. Now that’s a lot nutritious food. It’s not going to be easy to change this irrational fear, but to the rest of the world, we would be considered strange for NOT eating bugs. Around 80% of the world happily eats insects by choice, and they are all both nutritious and delicious. (That’s the insects not the people). Plus, they are naturally very rich in protein which would help resolve our protein drought in the up in coming future. For example mealworms are around 50%, red-legged locusts are 75% and leafcutter ants are around 58% protein, they are also high in iron and calcium which is excellent news to all the fitness fanatics out there.
As time has progressed, there has always been an overarching need for high amounts of crop production throughout the world. With the rapid rate of population growth, the need for crops and other sources of nutrients is only increasing. In order to meet these high demands and increase yields, farmers and other agriculturalists have started implementing the use of pesticides. These chemical mixtures are being used in order to prevent, destroy, repel or mitigate any pests from destroying growing crops. However, using pesticides on crops can create massive amounts of pollution, negatively affect an individual’s health, and can spark biodiversity loss within an ecosystem. According to Michael C.R. Alavanja, “Over 1 billion pounds of pesticides are used within the United States (US) each year and approximately 5.6 billion pounds are used worldwide”. With all this in mind, it is clear that pesticides should not be made available to farmers and agriculturalists, and should
A PEST analysis is an analysis of the external macro-environment that affects all firms. P.E.S.T. is an acronym for the Political, Economic, Social, and Technological factors of the external macro-environment. Such external factors usually are beyond the firm's control and sometimes present themselves as threats. For this reason, some say that "pest" is an appropriate term for these factors. Let us look at the PEST analysis of the Indian aviation sector:
There are nearly one million species of insects known. Insects are defined by having six legs and a body divided into three segments: head, thorax, and abdomen. Chitin is an organic material that makes up an insects exoskeleton. There are three life cycles of insects, ametabolous or incomplete and paurometabolous or gradual, and homotabolous or complete metamorphosis. These life cycles are important in the aging of insects for aiding in legal investigations, (Houck and Siegel. Entomology).
Insects are some of the most important creatures in our world. They play a very large role in many tasks that are vital to human surviva,l like pollinating and effective decomposing. Insects have impacted science, environment, human development, and food supply in a variety of ways. Insect pollination is one of the primary beneficial functions of insects on human development.
You may associate bed bugs with seedy hotels or dirty homes, but the truth is, even the cleanest homes and best hotels can get bed bugs. You might pick them up on your clothing when you go to the movies or department store. You might pack some home in your grocery bags. Once established, they are difficult to get rid of, but in the early stages, DIY methods may be all you need. Here's how to tell if you have bed bugs in your home and what you can do to get rid of them.
Farming practices that do not use pesticides/herbicides are slowly becoming introduced bit biologically created pesticides are not nearly as productive as found in preliminary testing. Biotechnology has shown to have successfully resisted pests in plants that were destroyed by pesticides but still hasn’t proven itself as a better alternative. William Liebhardt Ph.D. is an Agricultural Specialist at the University of California, Davis and he says, “When you start spraying with pesticides, you disrupt the natural balance that exists in nature. As a result, you end up killing beneficial insects, then insects that were not a problem become problems and this happens repeatedly” requiring more and more spraying.
The pesticide is a controversial topic since farmers are used it to gain their yield. Especially, pesticide is discovered during World War II as a chemical weapon that mixture of multiple chemicals together to kill human. Therefore, Chantries redesign pesticide to kill an organism where and when we don’t want it. Because people want to go to the grocery store to buy the perfect product, pesticide makes it happens and with a little cost for farmers. Nonetheless, pesticide also is the expenditure of life expectancy, which directly threatens people and poses risk of mortality rate. Abusing the pesticide has multiple affects on our society, (Add).
