South America is the fourth largest continent in the world. It is a continent that is located in the Western Hemisphere and it can also be considered the subcontinent of America. South America is divided in twelve independent counties and their names are-Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Guyana, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, over sea department of French Guiana, Suriname, Ecuador, Uruguay and Paraguay. South America is boarded by Pacific Ocean in the west, Caribbean Sea in the North West and Atlantic Ocean in the north and covers an area of 17,840,000 square kilometers.

The Moche, Inca Empire left behind some amazing architectural designs which makes this city a beautiful place to visit, one can also see some of the ruins in this country like the Nazca Line and Sillustani. Visitors can also go to some famous museums in the country to have a better knowledge about the history of Peru.

Colombia lies in the northern most part of South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea the Bogota is the capital of Colombia. Bordering between Panama and Venezuela and bordering the North Pacific Ocean, between Ecuador and Panama. The size of Colombia is 1,138,910 square kilometers less than three times the size of the state of Montana. Mainland territory divided into four major geographic regions. Andean highlands are composed of three mountain ranges and overriding valleys and Caribbean lowlands; Pacific lowlands; and llanos and tropical rainforest of Eastern Colombia. Colombia also has small islands in both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. Climate in Colombia has unique variety in temperature resulting in changing differences in elevation not much seasonal variation. The rocky terrain cut by large rivers that flow into the Caribbean the Pacific. BOLIVIAN PARADISE Bolivia is an amazing country that is breathtaking and is similar to a paradise. Bolivia is an interesting country that practices an interesting style of living. Locals always have plenty to do. They can go out for pizza, go see movies, or simply sit and talk.
Before the Europeans even thought about finding a way to China and accidentally found the America, a group of Indians lived in South America. These Indians were called the Incans. Incans ruled the West side of South America. The empire ran through parts of many present day countries: Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. The Incan Empire was a great civilization that thrived for many years and paved the way for modern civilation.
The colonial times of Peru left behind the legacies of the social system, economy, and education. Peru was known as the land of abundance and Pizarro’s goal was to conquer the Inca Empire. All legacies that were left behind impacted the country of Peru in different ways. The education system of Peru was completely changed and because of that change Peru is now a Spanish speaking country. The Inca believed that harmony between the relationships of the human being, nature and gods was truly essential. They had multiple gods, but the main god was Viracocha, the Inca even considered their emperors as demi-gods. They had several sacred objects and locations. The Vilcanota or Wilcamayu, the “Sacred River” which is a section of the Urubamba River. The sacred valley of the Incas, the Inithuatana stone in Machu Picchu, the Golden Sun Disk, a disk shaped object which represented the Sun, it was one of the most important Inca treasures that many explorers have looked for, and still are.
Scientists can surmise about who built it, who lived there, and why it was abandoned and forgotten, but they still are not one hundred percent sure. Machu Picchu was used for religious observance, astronomical observation, a royal retreat, and a secret ceremonial city. Therefore, I have partially proved my thesis. I said that Machu Picchu was created by the Inca culture for religious observance. Machu Picchu was used for that and many other things and that is why it is such an amazing civilization.
Both cultures governments are finding was to respect the Indigenous culture, by providing funding that supports the Indigenous languages, visual arts and culture.
For those who don’t know what Machu Picchu is, it can simply be described as a 15th century citadel nearly 8,000 feet above sea level. In my eyes, it is much more than that.
