Friends, neighbours, countrymen turkeys, lend me your…what do Turkeys hear with? Is it ears? Whatever, ears is good. Thanksgiving is almost upon us. For too long we have suffered. Being fed extra, and given extra treats and plumped up, well ok not that part, that part’s good. But the next part, where they eat us, that part is bad. Like I knew this one Turkey, Fred, you know what happened to him? He was run over by a truck. Why was he on the road? Because he was being chased by the farmer. And why was the farmer chasing him? That’s right, because he wanted to eat him. This madness has to stop. This year it won’t be just one Turkey pardoned by the president. It will be all of them. Actually now that I think about it that would take too long and I don’t really think he’d be up for it anyway. Unless maybe he just pardoned us all at once? …show more content…
We’re just going to rebel. No longer will we be served with a side of mash potatoes, gravy, corn and your choice of white bread or that weird whole-wheat gluten stuff that that one aunt has really gotten into recently, you know the one who’s always talking about GMO’s and treating serious illnesses with scented candles? No more will parents ask young children do you want white meat or dark, they’ll have to ask do you want carrots or turnip, or some other type of vegetable, possibly a tofu based meat substitute brought by the same aunt as before. No more will parents take Turkey naps while the kids go looking for foil wrapped chocolate eggs. Sorry that’s Easter, I was thinking of
He starts off with the intention of killing the hitchhiker. Pancake states, “I make the big turn at Chimney Corners and see a hitchhiker standing there. His front is clean, and he looks half frozen, so I stop to let him in” (Pancake 84). From this statement, you can gather that he takes into consideration the look of the hitchhikers he stops for. By that, he decides whether or not they are worth his time in being killed and whether they would be a good meal for his hogs.

Associated Press (Jakes, L. 2014, April) published an article stating Jonathan Pollard was eligible for parole in November 2015 and that his release could give headway to the Mideast peace talks even though Pollard’s name has previously came up in the Israeli and Palestinian negotiations. Many have stressed that this is a no brainer and his release shouldn’t be granted and are opposed to it, some...
The description of the road brings suspense to the reader. He said “There may be a devilish Indian behind every tree,” (326) then he spots a figure of a man. Goodman Brown nervously follows the old man as they talk and walk down the road. Goodman Brown notices the old man’s staff “which bore the likeness of a great black snake,” (326). The man rushes Goodman Brown down the trail. Goodman Brown eventually stops and said “It is my purpose now to return whence I came,” (327). The devilish old man persistence to continue down this long darken trail rises suspense. It makes the reader wonder, what is so important? Does Goodman Brown run away or keep going? This brings the third complication.

For hundreds of years Thanksgiving has been a holiday filled with traditions celebrating family and togetherness. The day after thanksgiving known as “Black Friday” is a day for shopping and taking advantage of greatly reduced prices. The recent decision by retailers to move Black Friday to Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, has caused quite a stir among many families. People have become upset over the decision to turn a day of gratitude and family, into another day of greed and violence. Retailers should not open their stores on Thanksgiving Day because doing so will cause many employees to miss out on spending a special day with their families, cause people to forget about the thanks and festivities that thanksgiving represents, and create more violence in stores and violence towards people.
Being vegetarian opens up so many doors for people. For those who do not know what a vegetarian is or are confused on what they do or eat let me inform you that being a vegetarian simply means that you go off of plant-based diets. Although there are several kinds of vegetarian diets, it is all based on what type of food you are consuming. For example, a strict vegetarians or vegans avoid all foods of animal origin, including meat, poultry, fish, diary products, and eggs. Many people become a vegetarian for different reason according to the Calorie King he states, “being vegetarian means different things to different people, and people follow a vegetarian diet for different reason including health, religion, and ethical beliefs.”(Deusen p.1)
People love to eat meat. For over two million years, humans have relied on eating meat in order to survive or simply just because they enjoy the taste. Early humans had more powerful jaws and larger teeth and relied on meat as one of their main sources of food. As evolution took place and humans evolved, they developed smaller teeth and were only able to eat the meat if it was cooked. With humans evolving and being able to survive on foods other than meat, meat does not have to necessarily be a part of human diet anymore. Although many people have opted for a vegetarian lifestyle, most people still continue to eat meat and do not consider it a cruel act. Many have also stopped eating meat due health risks and environmental concern. Whether
Imagine a world where there are no animals anywhere. There are still the ordinary cows, pigs, cats, dogs, but there is not a single tiger or rhinoceros. People all around the world have been killing animals for thousands of years and they need to stop and obey the laws. Make your voice heard for the animals; they can’t speak for themselves so we need to do it for them. Other reasons on why animals are getting put on the endangered species list and or going extinct: habitat intrusion, pet trade, climate change, and disease. Please help to save the animals or they won’t be here any longer.
Many people have always wondered why people who had always ate meat their entire lives, decide to become vegetarians. People would presume that they wanted to lose weight, become healthier, or even just to try it out. Several would say non-vegetarianism is healthier and could help your body; however, vegetarians can be healthy too by what they eat and how much they eat of that particular food. Although I eat meat and I’m not a vegetarian, being a vegetarian can help your body in more ways than one and have many advantages in helping your body. Many become vegetarians to remove non-healthy things from their body, are animal lovers, or even religious or cultural reasons.
Many people in today’s society find pleasure and relaxation by going to a park or public place to feed bird’s old bread or French fries from a fast food restaurant. Little do most people know that this causes problems among birds such as taking from their ability to find normal food, changing their migration patterns to causing protein deficiencies or over intake; that can cause health problems in mostly water fowl species. The most common health concern that is caused from birds being fed by humans is Angel wing, this is caused by birds eating too much protein and this comes from eating things such as bread or foods full of carbohydrates. Angel wing is known under many names: flip wing, drooped wing, dropped wing and many others(Johnson).
