While most people know exercise & movement are an important part of their life, this knowledge does not always translate into action. Unfortunately, those who live sedentary lifestyles put themselves at risk of premature death. While millions of people start exercise programs each year, particularly as New Year 's resolutions, many do not continue through with the program. Roughly half of those who join a health club quit within the first six months, and only about 20 percent of Americans are meeting the daily recommended exercise levels. If you are among the other 80 percent, particularly if you rarely exercise, you might be wondering how you can start and stick with an exercise program.
Pick Something You Enjoy
You might not enjoy jogging around your neighborhood or going to the gym to lift weights, but there are likely ways you can get exercise that you find enjoyable. Join an adult sports league. Take a dance class. Play tag with your kids in the backyard. Play a game with your family that gets you all moving. You could even bike or walk to work or to a friend 's house.

In America alone, only about 51% of Americans exercise 3 or more times a week, and 18% exercise only 1 to 2 times a week (Shy). 30% of American sadly doesn’t do any type of extracurricular activity or exercise at all (Blackburn). For the people who don’t exercise, try to because you can really only benefit from it. The one’s that already do know the health benefits for exercising. Aside from just exercising, one activity or activities you could do is weight lifting/strength training. Most people don’t think about this but strength training is actually a big key for exercise.
Physical activity is my weakest area. I only exercised one day of the week and the plan was for six to seven days a week. The most successful and reasonable way that I can work my way up to my goal is to not jump in with both feet and think that I should be over exerting myself because I will lose interest. I. Introduction: You’ve probably heard it a million times that obesity is an issue on the rise in America. Well, why if everyone knows that it is a problem is nothing being done to fix it? I’m here to propose a solution to this problem affecting over a third of the adult American Population.
Have you ever had those moments where you are feeling unmotivated or zero energy to workout? I will be the first to tell you I have had these moments. Being involved in the fitness world, I love every aspect of fitness. For the past 5 years, I was working out 5 days a week and had my ups and downs with results. I am guilty of it, I would pick up a workout magazine and try out this crazy workout and just destroy my body. Sure, I saw some results but I was becoming more and more tired throughout the day. On top of that, I was only getting 5 hours of sleep and not eating appropriately to refuel my body. I know stupid right? I am human and I am not perfect!
Today I will be outlining my plan to help education parents and children alike on the dangers of childhood obesity. With this plan I hope to better education parents and children on how to prevent and fight this current health issue.
