Academic stress, which is something I believe students struggle with the most is what I will be focusing on in this paper. The idea I wish to address is how students can get organized with their work to reduce stress. The purpose is to inform GGC students that creating a schedule and a quiet study space that works for them can go a long way in minimizing stress in order to encourage them to learn ways they can manage stress in school. Making a schedule and creating a quiet study space will help students to stay on track and also to study effectively, which is why I have decided to get this information across to my audience by making a colorful flyer with pictures and procedures on how students can get organized to help them reduce school stress. …show more content…
Is going to be at the top in a cool blue color that brings calmness and also attracts people’s attention. The flyer is going to answer questions anybody might have such as why the flyer is important. The flyer is going to contain bullet points of how students can reduce stress by creating a study schedule and a quiet study space written in fonts that are easily readable from a distance with pictures that convey the message.
Making a reasonable study schedule will help students to stay on track. Many students have jobs and many other responsibilities they take care of that takes most of their time, which makes them get caught up with many school work to complete which can increase stress. I know making a study schedule can be boring and time-consuming, but it can be the easiest thing one can ever do, which is why I want to make it easier for them by working them through some easy steps they can take to build a reasonable study schedule to reduce stress. Firstly, there

I know students have trouble studying, some doze off, and some can’t do without pressing their phone, watching TV, and even playing video games. Finding a better study space that works for them might be the best way for them to study effectively without any problems. I plan to work students through some steps they can take to help them create a quiet study space. Firstly, according to Wikihow, students need to find a desk or table and a chair somewhere between their waist and ribcage when they sit on it so that their elbows can rest easily upon it without having to hunch their shoulders forward. Secondly, students need to make sure that they have adequate lighting because a study area that is too dark will make it easier for students to nod off, which can worsen eye strain. Thirdly, students need to make sure that they have all the materials they need for studying close to them. The use of clocks is also a great way students can study effectively. If students use a clock, it will remind them of when their time is up to stop studying and do something else which is a good
4 Giancola, J.K., Grawitch, M.J., and Borchert, D. (2009). Dealing with the stress of college: A
Stress is an important problem faced by many college students, especially first year students, and it can have some large impacts on college freshmen. For example, according to Hirsch and Keniston (1970), about half of first year students do not graduate from college due to dropping out (p. 1-20). Also, David Leonhardt (2009) agrees that the United States excels at putting “teenagers in college, but only half of students who enroll end up with a bachelor’s degree” (p. 1). In addition, the level of stress seems to increase each year. For instance, the National Health Ministries (2006) claim that many college students have become “more overwhelmed and stressed” than the student generation of the last fifteen years (p. 2). Also, the percentage of first year students feeling stressed is greater than thirty percent (National Health Ministries 2006). If the problem of stress is not resolved properly, th...
One of the most stressful aspects of high school and ultimately college is the ability (or lack thereof) to form good study habits. One may often hear the dramatic tale of a college student staying up all night in order to receive a good grade on his or her test the following morning. This student either completely fails the test, or does really well. These results depend on the students themselves and their ability to study in this manner. In this essay, I will compare and contrast fellow two of the most popular forms of studying—periodic and cramming—in an effort to allow high school students to effectively choose which form may best work for them.

Harris Cooper, a researcher on homework from Duke University, claims that too much homework causes stress. In this I paper will talk about the damaging effects homework has on a child, how homework causes students to dropout of school, and some ideas for an alternative to homework.
Going to college can be an exciting new experience that can challenge a person more than he or she thought was possible. Attending college, especially for the first time, can be a very stressful time in a person’s life. Some of the stress that is associated with attending college are living in a new place, having to meet new people, having new responsibilities, and of course the homework that goes along with taking classes. If a person does not learn to cope with these stressors in a healthy way, that person may become very overwhelmed and possibly depressed (Hoeger & Hoeger, 2010) .To keep one’s body and mind safe from the overexposure of stress, they can practice the following techniques.
A significant percentage of college students spend their time on campus with a lot of stress. This is due to a tight schedule that requires them to balances class time, assignments, tests, projects and extra curriculum activities. Other students are attached to the corporate world notably adult education offered in our campus. The working lot fined it challenging to meet extra workload in their courses. The final exams have a difficult feeling for the candidates due to anxiety of passing.
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” (Dr.Seuss). Society often thinks of peer pressure as a negative implement. Often times the community imagines peer pressure as teen influencing one another to experiment with drugs, alcohol, and sexual intercourse. But really all peer pressure is, is the encouragement of changing values and behaviors of an individual. Peer pressure can be thought of as positive for teens, because it allows and individual to become a leader in an environment, strong encouragement to work hard in school, and lead a healthy lifestyle.
In today’s world, education is more important than ever, and with education comes homework. However, many teachers give too much homework, which makes students extremely stressed. In addition, some are into sports or after school activities, and some have part time jobs they have to work at, which adds additional stress to the already overworked students. Mounds of homework can cause students to be under so much stress that it affects them mentally, physically, and emotionally. Stress can make students sick with colds, stomach aches, high blood pressure, sleep disorders, and/or anxiety disorders (Menninger and Dugan).
It’s absolutely normal to feel powerless when you encounter stress. But to think that there’s nothing you can do about it is absolutely not normal. You can avoid things from getting out of control by taking charge of your thoughts, emotions, lifestyle, and your ways of facing certain life situations.
During the first day of school, a variety of different students enter the classroom. These students are excited and nervous, they have their parents by their sides who are observing the classroom walls and arrangement. From the minute the students enter the classroom, students are observing the classroom environment and notice the everything. Everything in the classroom needs to have a purpose, but provide a pleasant environment. When preparing and organizing the classrooms, teachers need to consider the different variables that impact the classroom. Classrooms can be disorganized if the walls are cluttered and have no meaning The organizations of the desks, the wall decorations, and the seating arrangements significantly impact the physical environments. Students are like sponges, they soak up everything that surrounds them. In the article A comparison of actual and preferred classroom environments as perceived by middle school students in the Journal of School Health stated “studies have shown that classroom environments are closely related to a number of aspects of student
In addition, academic work can make a student also be stressed out. Many student worries are about earning a high score in test, quiz, also classwork. My experience in earning a grade has been stressful, because certain teachers make learning hard even if the work is a simple step. For example, there was a teacher whose teachings was very different, instead of showing the fastest way to complete a problem, he chose the longest way. I think the reason ...
A Student 's life on University campus revolves around going to classes, studying in the library or in their own room, getting involved in co-curricular activities made compulsory by the university and sometimes hanging out with their friends to have fun after an exam. For many students who live in students accommodation being away from their family will require them to be independent and some students need quite some time to get adjusted to their new environment or they will be homesick or stressed. They need to practice housekeeping, to manage a budget, and to find their way around new place. Stress is also a part of every student’s daily life. It can be very damaging for students when stress becomes excessive. It can harm student 's health, happiness, work performance, relationships and personal development.

I will make and keep a regular study schedule. Through the time schedule, I can properly allocate my time. Study is important, but we should also allow ourselves to have some time for rest and relaxation. Next, study at the right place is also an important method to study. The right place is useless without the right surrounding conditions. For me, I will choose the same place to study everyday. For example, library is a good choice to study, it was also a place that with zero distractions. When you are studying, you should keep away from all the distractions, such as music, television, movies, friends, mobile phone and so on. In addition, we must maintain the correct attitude when we were studying. Do not waste time, the time will not wait for you. Don’t be childish, don’t think than I can’t, allocate the time for study and the time for play. I never start to study while I’m stressed. You’ll get frustrated and it isn’t going to help de-stress you. When you are stressed, you should clear your mind for a little while and study when you can focus on
