Did you know that wrestling was one of the first sports that ever existed to mankind? I believe that wrestling is one of the best sports to help you with everyday life and, getting you healthy. Wrestling gets kids physically and, mentally fit and healthy, teaches them how to manage their time during wrestling, and gives them an opportunity to make new friends.
The first reason that kids should consider joining wrestling is that they will feel healthy and become physically and mentally fit. Wrestling is listed as one of the top ten toughest sports. It makes participants physically fit and healthy because the body needs vital nutrients such as Vitamin B to wrestle other people. You can also become more physically fit because you jog up to three to four mile every practice, and you lift people your weight or a little heavier or just lift the weights provided in your gym/wrestling room. Childhood obesity has double in children and quadrupled in adolescence in the last thirty years. If kids would become more involved in physical sports like wrestling, they would be more likely to lose weight. Kids who participate in sports are 33% less likely to become obese. Also, if you wrestle you can build on your mental strength because if you think in your mind that you’re gonna lose you’re more likely to lose than win but, if you think your gonna win you have a higher chance to win. Another way to get mentally tough is to set goals for yourself because when you set goals you get stuck on achieving your goal In wrestling and, you have to wear singlets that are really tight and to me it makes you sweat more so you lose more water weight. About a quarter of the young wrestlers lost 10 pounds or more during the season, and 11% fasted longer than 2...

...our team pumped up to get your team back in the game to win. Also you can make friends because since 2002 to 2003 over 40,000 kids joined school wrestling thats just boys! the amount of girls that joined wrestling in the year 2012 to 2013 was 1,700. Also I believe you can make friends is that in a match if you get a takedown you get two points and, if you do get a takedown kids on your team are like cheering you on and it makes you feel good. Then after that match when your off the mat people are slapping you on the back and it puts a smile on your face.
I believe kids should wrestle because you can meet friends because of time spent with the team, get physically and mentally fit by setting and achieving goals, and it teaches teaches you time management because you need to keep you need to stay at your weight class. That is why I think kids should join school.
Smack smack smack the sound that just grinds my gears. Everyone has that one thing that just drives them up a wall. Nothing makes me more mad than when people smack their food. Ever since I can remember I've had this total hate rid towards the sound of people smacking their food. This what is the problem in this day and age people just don't have the manners that they had in the olden day. Coming from a family that is very strict at the dinner table, I've developed a set of standard of mine own. First of all smacking is just horrible manors, second it is just disgusting, finally smacking is an easy thing to fix.
Today I am taking a break from the series of articles I usually write, to bring you a subject I have thought about for a long time. I only started paying attention to wrestling in my teen years, so the "Attitude Era" was what I considered wrestling. I won't go into what made the era special, because that would be insulting to your intelligence, everyone knows what made the era successful, and why some fans still pine for it. Needless to say, it was "cool", it suited the times, and it broke the mold formed over the previous decades.
I have many things that I love in this life, one of those things is wrestling. I have been wrestling for seven years and I have developed quite the passion and love for it. Wrestling has always been an interesting sport for me. Growing up in Oregon I watched my uncles wrestle in high school. I watched both of them win their state tournament in their respective weight classes, this is one of my fondest memories of my childhood. One of them went on to wrestle division one, I thought this was the coolest thing in the world. I looked up to my uncles and wanted to be just like them. I did not always wrestle though. The process of pursing my dream as of becoming a wrestler started of with basketball, then went to a rocky start, then being on Worland High School wrestling team.
Cheerleading isn’t a sport. Loads of cheerleaders have faced this controversial statement. An image of peppy girls, twirling in short skirts for the football team fills most people’s minds when considering the topic of cheerleading. The truth is, we are a strong team that works together to lift each other up, literally. Although we work day in and day out to perfect our stunts, tumbling, and routines, our talent still goes unnoticed by our peers. Negative stereotypes often surround cheerleaders. In my high school, we constantly battle to gain the respect of our classmates not just as athletes, but even simply as people. Some of the most involved and highest ranked students in our school make up our cheerleading squad, but those traits are forgotten
Erin Franklin Mrs. Bauch 5th Hour Speech 18 May 2016 How many of you know that the Summer Olympics are in Rio this year? What has been happening to Brazil will possibly serve as a lesson to other countries wanting to host the Olympics (Navarro-Garcia). The 2016 Summer Olympics are expected to bring in around 500,000 people to Brazil (? Zika concerns mount?).
I had little to no motivation for a while and thought that maybe wrestling wasn’t the sport for me. I had shown promise in practice but as soon as I got on the mat for a tournament or duel I just drew a blank. I wasn’t executing any of the techniques I had learned after so many repetitive drills. I wasn’t the only one that had faced such miserable losses but it felt like it. My teammates helped me through my rut by giving me additional advice during practice and being in my corner while I wrestled matches. It was a great feeling knowing that I had people who had my back whenever I needed help. The wrestling team was a close knit group that dealt with all our problems together. We worked hard and played hard together till none of us could go any further. We were each other’s motivation, rivals, and family on and off the mat. If I had any doubts about a match my team thought the exact opposite and made sure that I understood why they believed so. But what made us a strong unit was the fact that we had similar goals and values. None of us wanted to lose and planned to make it past districts. We all wanted to take home hardware not only for our own self recognition but also to bring back a trophy to put on our principal’s desk who just so happened to love the wrestling program about as much as our team. All of us valued the effort that was put into every early morning practice so no one looked down on each other. The connection we had as a team made my experience wrestling all the more worth
Whether it’s 7a.m, 10a.m, 4:30p.m, etc. I find myself feeling tired. It could be from just waking up or from a long day, but during any of these times I find myself dragging. I could resort to coffee or any form of caffeine to wake myself up, but it is not nearly as effective as going to Crossfit. When you walk into the gym you’re surrounded by the sounds of “workout” music and weights dropping to the ground. You’re greeted by your fellow Crossfitters and you chat about the workout ahead. Strength work comes first and that’s when my first jolt of energy comes. There’s no better feeling than completing heavy lifts; the adrenaline is unexplainable. It is especially energizing when you PR a lift, receive cheers from the others at the gym and
...lives. Without wrestling, there would be no fighting, no self-defense options or maneuvers, or any way for someone to be in the best shape of their life, without being in the military or special workout programs. Involved and used in everyday life, wrestling is not given the credit or respect that it deserves, for the sole fact that it is no football or basketball, and people don’t usually grow up doing it everyday in the local neighborhoods. (Myself).
Wrestling is a great sport to better yourself and earn a bunch of awards and titles to look back on later on in life. It 's something i will never forget and cherish always. But the memories of losing all the weight and making myself miserable for all those seasons is something i will not miss. People around me were only worried about the medals i had gotten and not about my personal being, that 's where wrestling goes wrong. That 's what needs to change in the future for not only wrestlers but the people around them as well.
There are many great benefits to playing school sports. Some main benefit topics I am going to discuss are Health Benefits, Social Benefits, and Emotional Benefits. First is the Health Benefits you get from participating in a high school sport, like eating healthy. You may say that’s not true, but most dedicated young athletes are likely to “consume more fruits and vegetables”(Taliaferro, 2010). Along with eating healthy to keep up with the team, these sports “encourage healthy decisions such as not smoking or drinking”. Being a part of a team you become close to your teammates which “boosts friendships, and builds relationships with peers and adults”(Mariana Jean Shile, 2013).
When a person walks into a building to see a live wrestling event they do not know what to expect. They wonder who will be wrestling. They wonder where their seats are. All of the suspense gets them ready for the show. The suspense gets them pumped and ready to for the show to start.
Organized sports help keep teens out of trouble, give them an opportunity to meet positive influences, provide an opportunity to develop a higher self-esteem, and enables students to set goals. Staying with sports through school helps teens stay on the right track. Students should be interested in their sport and enjoy participating and always should try to have fun!
The main goals behind Sport Education are to help students become knowledgeable about different sports and activities to the point where they can participate in these outside of the classroom to stay active. Also it teaches execution and strategies and encourages competitiveness. It is important for kids to be competitive because they will have to be in life and it will teach the importance of winning and losing the right way. “Sports offer kids a great chance to work cooperatively toward a common goal. And working coope...
...ing was found at the time of Sumarians five-hundred years ago. Wrestling was a full body contact sport which involved a physical and mental strength. The only way to win is when someone would admit defeat. As where today there are rules and regulations where the winner can be determined through points. Wrestling was known as an art for the Greeks a way to show your strength as a man. Boxers on the other hand would put straps around their wrist to strengthen them. As the years went on the strength of the straps progressed to protect their hands and demolish the opponents face.one of the toughest sports was pankration which included both boxing, wrestling and martial arts. While equestrian events involved horse races and chariot races in a hippodrome. Over the time of the Olympics many more events started developing such as swimming events and events used in the snow.
