Persuasive Letter

Dear Carroll County School Board Member,

I have heard that you are debating on weather to add or not add one and a half hours to the school day. Other personnel may disagree, but I agree that you should add extra time to the school day. I believe that with the extended school day will help us students now and in the future. We must be able to go the extra mile now. If we are to make a life for ourselves, we must get used to giving more effort. Most other students think that you should not only because they would get bored, but I care a lot about my future. You addling Extra time will not stop me from reaching success.
To begin with, we could do more activities. The activities will include field trips and field days. We could also do a

lot more projects with our work.I have always been a fast learner and understand things a lot faster than others. I am more of a visual learner though, but with the projects I could understand certain subjects better. Activities could rest are mine from school, but also be educational. When I was in elementary school we used to go walking on trails for field trips and had to identify trees for our grades. Soon I will be going on a Washington D.C. trip to learn about our country's past. Extending the school day will make school more fun.
Additionally, we could focus more on certain subjects. like I've already said, I'm a fast learner but not as fast as in some subjects. English is my worst subject. I would even consider that I am a little slow in english. I don’t understand a lot of the criterias. With the extra time I could excel in english. Spending more time a t school could be crucial for my grades. Spending more time on more difficult criterias could help me do better on the SOL test. Extra time could help my grades.
Furthermore, the school year has to be shorter. I know that you base the time we go to school is based on hours, not days. If the school day is longer, summer will come sooner. If we have longer summers then we will come back to school more calm, relaxed, and ready for the school year. We would be able to do more activities over the summer. These activities could include 4-H and other school camps. Friendships could be further bonded. Friendships could be made. Extending the school day will make summer longer.
In conclusion, you should add to the school year. I only stated a few reasons, but there are several more. I know that this decision will be debated a long time. I hope my opinions will influence your decision. I believe all students will benefit from this. I hope you will extend the school day. In time, an extended school day will be natural.
