Have you ever felt so scared that you acted irrationally and did something you wouldn’t normally do? In most cases when human beings react that way they aren’t punished it’s more of a slap on the wrist. This can go from saying a bad word in school or a mere traffic violation. Warnings are usually given to prevent further mishaps. When the offense occurs again there are more severe repercussions but usually death is the last resort. When a dog acts aggressively death is usually the only option thought of. These animals have no voice, and no one to stand up for them. Dogs are put down without giving the owners a chance to prove their innocence or to merely check if the dog was emotionally stable. In some cases the dogs are trained to attack, …show more content…
But have you ever wondered why it is that dogs bite? Well AVMA a veterinary medical association has done research on why dogs bite. There studies have found that when a dog bites it's usually a reaction to something. That may be defending its territory or themselfs. When an intruder is in their home they react by barking and may even escalate to attacking the trespasser. In these situations dogs are appraised for their act of bravery, and even awarded with a treat. No charges are brought up nor the dog in question is to be put down, that is because it did a good deed. The dog was simply defending its home from a stranger and that's not frowned upon. But like any human being we make mistakes and so do dogs. When someone new enters our lives we aren’t so quick to trust them, it takes time to trust. The same happens for a dog. In a case where a child had been attacked by a dog was to be euthanized for severely injuring the child and mother. What had occurred was that the dog saw that the child had been in their home and the dogs entered defend mode. The dog pounced on to the child and bit her on her face cause her to get many stitches. Like any mother, the girl's mom jumped in to defend her daughter. In that event the dog started to attack the mom. The dog being riled up and in defend mode was just reacting based on instinct. He was not able to detain himself, just like any

Third, you should contact a firm of personal injury lawyers. The legal issues surrounding dog bites are often complex because most states (but not all) are strict liability jurisdictions. This means that dog owners are civilly liable for the dog bite as long as the victim neither trespassed nor provoked the dog. In some states, liability is automatic, while in others there are limitations upon it. A dog bite victim should seek counsel to determine if they reside in a strict liability state and to ensure they receive the maximum compensation allowed under the law.
If you were judged solely because of your race, how would you feel? The answer, most likely, is a negative one. Pit bulls, a breed of domestic dog, are victims of harsh stereotyping and unfair judgement. Many people believe the dog is naturally aggressive, but that is far from the truth. The breed does not matter, the size does not matter, and the age does not matter. The key factor on how a dog behaves, is, believe it or not, the person who raises it. Pit bulls are not a dangerous breed of dog.
Contrary to that popular belief, dangerous animal behavior is the function of inherently dangerous dog owners, not inherently dangerous dogs. One fact that supports this is that pit bulls are the dogs most often shot during drug raids (TELLINGS v. Toledo). Besides the pit bulls that are owned by drug dealers for status symbols and protection, many pit bulls are owned by people that breed them for fighting. These poor dogs have a very slim chance of living a normal and happy life. This is not the fault of the dog, but the fault of the owners that should not have the dog, or should care for them better.
Sadly aggression is one of the most noted accounts for a dog owner to make the judgment to give up a pet. Sometimes, if a dog is considered behaviorally unsound and cannot be rehabilitated, euthanization is the last drastic step.
Of course, if the poor dog is being beaten and tortured soon the dog will react to defend itself. "Susie's Hope", for instance, a movie based on a true story, demonstrates how these stereotypes are perpetuated. Donna the main character, survived a pit bull attack and as a result, had a miscarriage. Neglected and abandoned this pit bull lived approximately two houses down Donna's house. The owner left the dog chain to a tree with no food nor water.
Would you like to try a dog limb with the salad? These are the exact word that I heard from the Korean air hostess when I was first traveling to the USA. I still remember she passed me a wrong serving plate. This incident really affects me a lot because I had never seen meat before in my life. It makes me think about how the meat industry is widely spread and how it is regulated by the governmental agencies. Factory farming is a system of rearing livestock using intensive methods by which poultry, pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions. Today, factory farming dominates the U.S food production to fulfill the excessive demand of the peoples. Most of the factory farms are run by the giant corporations and their
“There can be many reason for animal cruelty, like any other form of violence, is often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, or under control of others. Some who are cruel to animals copy acts what they have seen or that have been done to them, others see harming an animal as a safe way to get revenge against--or threaten-- someone who cares about that animal”. (“Animal… Statistics”) Concerns towards abusing animals have gone up in the past. Although there are not many cases on animal abuse, many have occurred. Abusers are charged with Criminal Animal Abuse and then sentenced to life in prison. Some animals that are physically abused are sometimes rescued by Animal Control, and are taken it to an animal shelter. However, many shelters have not had the space to keep the animals so the workers would have to put them down (Carol Roach). Researchers have shown that the main animals getting abused are dogs, chickens, horses, and livestock (“Animal...
When an animal is beaten, it not only causes the animal to be physically harmed, but it can also result in the animal receiving severe psychological damage. The abuse can cause the animal to become afraid of all humans, whether they are abusive or not. Not only can the victim become afraid of humans, it can cause it to even be hostile towards people and other animals. For example, if a dog’s previous owner was abusive, that can end in the dog being aggressive towards others due to its fear of being hurt like he/she was in the past. A tremendous part of animal cruelty that people do not recognize is the abuse of animals is linked to the abuse of humans in many cases. Animal neglect correlates with human neglect, which usually involves a child, elder, or other dependent (Animal Legal Defense Fund). In a survey, seventy-one percent of domestic violence victims said that their abuser also turned their household pet into a victim of abuse (Animal Cruelty Facts and Statistics). In a study completed in 1983, eighty-eight percent of families under investigation for child abuse partook in animal abuse along with the abuse of their child (Animal Cruelty Facts and Statistics). Not only does this cruelty affect the victims, but it can also affect the ones witnessing the violence. When someone is in the presence of violence of an animal or another person, it can affect the

If one wants to live a more responsible, more active, and a healthier life style they should get a dog. Obtaining the previously mentioned qualities are great but gaining a best friend is even better. Dogs are intelligent animals and their personalities are one of a kind. With training, love, and patience any dog can become a great addition to one’s family. Adoption from an animal shelter is a great way to get a dog although there are adoption fees most of the money is being used to vaccinate the dog before its taken to its forever home. Buying a dog from a reputable breeder is another option as how one gets a dog. Reputable breeders usually guarantee a puppy’s health. One might have to go through a few more hoops to be able to buy a dog from
The abuse that animals endure at human hands is heartbreaking, sickening, and infuriating. Animals are just as delicate as humans, so why not abuse us too? Animal lives should be just important as ours. No animals should be killed or abused for testing, entertaining, clothing, or hoarding. Every year, millions of animals are being killed and torture for testing.

The perfect dog sits, stays, rolls over and shakes .the very moment you decide to take on that puppy thats what most people think the puppy will be nothing but a cute playing little dog with good manners, “you must rely on the solid foundation of these seven things socialization, housetraining, sit, down, stay, come, and to walk nicely on leash. “ (De Vito 16)..From the beginning people have learned that a obedient dog brings upon many benefits for both dog and human. In reality when people get that puppy most realise that it was not born with the commands that most associate dogs with.
It is difficult to believe how some humans are capable of inflicting pain to animals just to satisfy their lowest instincts or for money. The way people treat animals all over the world may defers from one place to another, but in general more people are standing up for animal rights in hopes that one day animal cruelty will be no more. However, this is not a perfect world, and animals, domesticated and wild, are abuse and beaten every single day. For example, dog fighting which is described as “The act of baiting two dogs against one another for entertainment or gain” (Yilmaz, Coskun, and Ertugrul). It is just a horrific and devastating experience that no dog should ever have to go through, “animals have been and continued to
