One of the most key uses of colour is found in the costuming of the characters, which eventually leads to the colour being frequently used to represent that character. David Dunn, this story’s protagonist, is represented by the colour green. He rarely not wearing this colour, even what could b considered as his ‘hero’s costume’, his waterproof security cloak, is green. As a colour, green I commonly used to symbolise growth and as a character David goes through a lot of person growth through the duration of the film. His character goes through a great deal of development as the story progresses and he realises his power as well as improving his relationships with those around him (his wife, Audrey and his son, Joseph). Green is also a colour commonly associated with Life, and in a number of religions with resurrection and regeneration. All of these ideas of the colour green are found in David’s character. Being the ‘hero’ of this story His role is to protect life, his power which he uses to do this is, of course, his unhuman strength, which means that he is not injured by force which is reminiscent of greens religious connotation of Regeneration. Just as David is represented by green, Elijah is represented by the colour purple. Purple ids a colour most commonly associated with royalty, Independence and wealth. One of the first times that we see the color black used as a symbol is when Aaron is introduced. Aaron is first introduced during the scene when he talks to Demetrius and Chiron about Lavinia. The most notable part of color usage in this scene is that Aaron is introduced in front of a light background (43:15). This background plays a large part because it allows viewers to focus on the dark skin of Aaron. It is important that Aaron’s black skin stands out because he is viewed as inferior due to his skin color.
Frank L. Baum uses many colors through the novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the colors he uses symbolize many different thinks and people may interpret differently. All these possessions seem nice, but they really aren't. The meaning of yellow in this book is fake, desire, and cowardice. If there is one thing I need you to understand, it is that there is power in color. Remem-ber I said, within the first 20 seconds, a person has formulated either a positive or negative opinion about you? So, it goes without saying, that your image plays a critical part in formulating that opinion. The colors you wear have the power to repel, attract, and convey meaning and messages without the utilization of words. The amazing thing about color is that not only does it invoke feeling among others as well as ourselves, it has the ability to make us feel so many different emotions. Think about how you feel when you put that red dress on and a pair of heels. You feel sexy right? Red evokes passion and a fieriness in our spirit that we ultimately transcend to the outside. How about the way black makes you feel? There is something about the color black that makes us feels chic and fierce. It just always seems to
Their passionately belief in education being the key to bettering oneself has driven me since I was five years old to pursue learning in all areas of my life. The consistent talk of school and learning has grown my love of it, as well as made me take great pride in my work. This leads into my next colour, yellow. The colour yellow is spread all over my mandala as well as in the middle showing how it is important in all aspects of my life. Whether it be a school project, a job, or an SLC task I always take pride and try to produce a 100% effort. Another value I placed close to the center was purple which shows creativity. Ever since I read Harry Potter at age 8 I have felt drawn to creative aspects of writing such as stories. I also show my creativity in my school projects where I like to make my work look as unique as possible. The colours blue and green show up equally on my mandala, representing how I like to be timely with my work (I have never had a late assignment), as well as how I like to take a risk and learn new
