The Dangers of the Assault Weapons
In today’s society, it is not difficult to get access to assault weapons. In California, as well as many other states in America, obtaining a gun license is very easy: any twenty-one-year-old and above legal resident can apply for a gun license. The requirements of the gun license are: pass the written gun safety test, pass the federal background check, pay a small fee and present a valid ID. If the applicant fulfills all the requirements, then he or she can legally buy a gun from any legal vendors. In addition to legal purchases of guns, there have been notorious cases of illegal gun trafficking among the nation. The number of people who have access to guns is a surprisingly large number. It does not matter how strict the gun control policy could be, it is still very difficult for the government to have control over what kind of people that are using guns because there are many guns got stolen throughout the year. Those stolen guns were the main source of guns that were used in crimes. Assault weapons put people in danger in so many ways …show more content…

There are many cases where the gun users injure themselves or even end up dead while they are examining their guns. Last month, one of my neighbors passed away because he accidentally shot himself in the chest while he was trying to fix the gun. It was unknown whether or not he knew the gun was loaded, but this kind of incident can be prevented if guns are not so easily obtainable. Similarly, a man in San Francisco also shot himself to death by accident while he tried to take a picture with the gun. Assault weapon supporters believe that as long as the gun is not loaded, it will be safe. In fact, it does not matter how careful the users think they could be, there are still chances that they forget whether or not the gun is loaded like the two cases listed above.
