Imagine your 17 years old and you just got your license and you're leaving your party and it is about 8:00, and you leave the party an hour early to get home. Your car, then breaks down and it has then been about thirty minutes since you have called triple “A”. So you then gapes a cop car coming down your way, do you think they would have been satiated with your explanation? The government feels like kids under the age of 18 should have a legal curfew. As a rule for people under 18, they make it a legal situation not considering what could go wrong with a teens responsibility. If anything, why not make a legal curfew for kids 13 and under? We as teens have priorities and responsibilities and with a legal curfew, we wouldn’t be able to take care of those things. The government cannot just put a legal curfew out there and not think of the emanation that comes with it. If I were to say that curfews are effective of crime and danger, I would have been lying to you. I will go about my debate on the side of not having a curfew because for one it can bring a false sense of insecurity, they are unauthorized, and last but most importantly it would be an abridgement.
As shown above, curfew laws can play a very critical role in a teenager’s life. It can assist with keeping the city safer, help them get enough sleep, and help them build their personal skill under a well-structured system routine. A lot of people might find curfew laws for teenagers unconstitutional and contradict the first amendment, so they decide not to abide with it. But by doing so, they are placing more a bigger experience to teenagers who are still working on developing their skills to take on new challenges. After all, Teenagers are the future of our society if we don’t teach, coach, direct, and offer guidance their future will be unstable and unproductive and that will affect the entire nation.
Most if not all teens look forward to several events in their life. One of those events are getting a driver's license. This small piece of plastic is their ticket to freedom. This ticket is more than just freedom to be able to drive their friends around but also freedom from the ritual of their parents having to drive them everywhere and embarrass them in public. Also this is a freedom to the parents as well they may save more on gas from not having to drive their children around. However, some teens are not as safe as they possibly could be if they were to take a few steps to promote good driving habits. This is evident in the article “Teen Driving”, as the author gives the reader teen driving statistics, as well as explanations of programs and steps that can improve teen driving.
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him” (G.K. Chesterton). A soldier is a soldier no matter what. If they fight behind a screen, on the front line, or from a controller as long as they’re protecting this country, the people in it, and the people fighting for it they are honorable. Some think that because one does their fighting from a remote control drone means that they have no understanding of war, and in some ways that is true, but they are still taking someone’s life when they choose to press that button just like the solders on the front line takes someone’s life when they pull the trigger. Both people are fighting the same fight: they love the country they are defending the people in it they just do it from different standpoints. Drones
Should Schools Start Later? Many high school students, including myself, do not get enough sleep. The idea of sleeping in sounds like the best thing ever, especially after those late night study sessions. Often times, teenagers are not able to sleep late because of school or work schedules. There are many side effects of sleep deprivation, but proven benefits of starting days later.
Mandatory minimums, harsh prison sentences imposed on offenders by law, where discretion is limited. Offenders, most of the time nonviolent, are faced with prison terms that are meant for a drug kingpin, not a low level first or second time offender. Mandatory minimums have been proven not to be the answer in our criminal justice system and need to be changed. Mandatory Minimums has created a problem within our society where we send everyone to prison and don 't present offenders with better opportunities. We have turned into a society focused on retribution and deterrence, and have forgotten about rehabilitation.
Don't you hate waking up early for school in the morning? Most high school students wake up before the sun rises just to become ready for school. Teenage brains do not begin to function that early considering many are tired from staying up late the previous night. The National Sleep Foundation reported that most teens do not retain enough shuteye, one study found that only 15% reported sleeping eight 1/2 hours on school nights. That fact was extremely true for me when I attended high school. I barely was able to wake up, get dressed, and be in school on time since I was so tired. In my opinion school days should start later, precisely in between 9- 10 o'clock. If the school day started later attendance would improve, students will be more prepared, and student's attitudes and grades may improve.
Curfews are here to stop teenagers from roaming the streets at night and causing trouble. In consideration of having a curfew for teenagers, the crime rate has greatly decreased. Many tests and studies have confirmed that curfews do keep teenagers out of trouble. Curfews have helped keep many of the streets safe and free of crime in various cities around the world, even cities in Michigan.
Should teenagers be restricted to a curfew? That's a question many parents question themselves. What is my son up? What is my daughter doing? How do I know if they're safe? What time will he/she be home? When following curfews, teens tend to stay out of trouble more because criminal activity or high-risk behaviors is more likely to occur later in the evening when parental supervision is not present. Therefore teenagers need have a curfew, imposing curfews would help keep young teens out of trouble legally, set strict boundaries, and provides safety.
People have been constantly at war over whether high school should commence at 10:30 and end at 4:30. However adjusting school schedules would be disadvantageous and result in many unwanted struggles. Consequently. if school commenced later and ended later it would give students less time to study in the afternoon, furthermore, it would decrease the amount of extra curricular activities for students and finally it would encourage students to party at night and later at night because they have time in the morning. To sustain a safe and educational learning environment, the schedule should remain the way it currently is. Cities all over Canada start earlier and have been for many years and has proven to create strong and educated graduates.
For most of the delinquent students got caught from their slightly misbehaving act for the first few times is not really a problem. What they don’t know about is that there is a program that can literarily handle even the most delinquent student must also bow down in surrender. The program is called “Weekend School”, also known for many students as “Hellish Torture School.” It was considered the most terrible and awful program and most students were afraid of. Because they believe that if they get into the weekend school, they have only one percent chance of survive. This programs it only available to most of the South East Asia countries middle school and high school. The purpose is to deal with delinquent students who get caught for their
In today’s society, some parents create curfews for their children while others allow their children to create their own curfews. Numerous people argue that setting curfews for teenagers help them refrain from taking part in mischief and help them to develop into superior adults. The remaining group of people state that curfews would make teenagers rebel. Teenage curfews produce many different positive and negative views in parents and teenagers. Different opinions on curfews are expressed through parents, teenagers, and mayors; and there are numerous reasons for people not supporting curfews.
I am lying in bed, and I hear a loud non-stop beeping noise. It is seven am because my alarm is loudly reminding me. It’s Monday morning and the beginning of a new school week for my children. I roll out of bed and begin my routine of assisting my children to get ready for school. As I drive them to school, I hear their conversations of excitement. Then my eldest son Sergio interrupts everyone and reminds us it is time to pray. As we pray together, we ask God to keep the children safe at school. Safety in school has become a big issue of concern. Schools are no longer as safe as they used to be in the past. As a parent, school safety concerns me. I want to drop off my children at school and now they will remain safe. However, in our society, our schools are filled with some undisciplined students that bring violence to the schools. It is the parent’s job to train and guide their children into sensible individuals. Children need the discipline to grow and become responsible students. To help keep schools safe discipline should start at home.
Curfew is the time at which you should be back home and safe. Most High Schooler’s will argue that “it’s stupid” and “I won’t get in trouble anyways”. Curfew for High Schooler’s and younger children is an excellent idea because it keeps students in line and out of possible trouble. If curfew was enforced it would eventually help kids be more responsible and trust worthy. Although some might think otherwise, High Schooler's are irresponsible and can not be trusted enough to not have a curfew.
In the late 1900’s a massive trend took over America. Smoking became a huge hit especially among teenagers. It was cool, and those that smoked sat at the top of the social ladder in high schools across America. The success of smoking and its popularity among teenagers was due to the public perception about smoking. At the time of its success, the public perception was wildly positive. There were claims that smoking had great effects on individual health and that there were no negative side effects. There is nothing more telling about the American perception of smoking than the movie Grease, where the nice girl becomes queen of the school after a lifestyle change that includes the addition of smoking. However, America has changed. Americans
