Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz. Did you know that bee numbers are decreasing? Bees are extremely important, but they might go extinct, so we need to save them. One reason is all the important foods that honey is in. The next reason is that lots of crops would not grow without bees. The final reason is, without bees, people would need to spend more money. The first reason bees should be protected is that many important foods have honey in them that will disappear when bees disappear. According to The United States Department of Agriculture,"The United States Department of Agriculture has announced incentives for farmers to build habitats for honeybee populations. On local levels, people are being encouraged to plant more and diverse flowers to assist in the growth of bee populations. "Moreover, bees need flowers for pollen to make honey which is in many foods like honey nut cheerios, root beer, some coffees and teas, and more. 80 percent of food comes from honey bees. Critics may argue that many people don't eat honey and it is useless. Honey has been proven to help sleep and get rid of acne, diabetes and cancer.
