Trim-Down Diet
The easiest way to shed those extra, unwanted pounds is by consuming vegetables and fruits on a daily basis. But, wait a minute you may say . . . “Are you really suggesting that I give up all my favorite snack foods – chips, candy, popcorn and ice cream to start chomping on baby carrots and slices of green bell peppers or even an apple?”
Yes, I am suggesting that you give up all the junk food that is filled with empty calories; but, I am not suggesting that you “chomp” on anything!
You can trim down and consume plenty of fruits and vegetables with their abundance of nutrients and very few calories by following the steps outlined below, which includes adding freshly-made juice to your diet each day.
For example, an excellent juice combination that can be added to a healthy breakfast or for a mid-afternoon snack is a cup of spinach, carrot, and apple juice - less than 50 calories. Beets, celery, spinach, and tomatoes make another great morning juice, while fresh grapefruit and orange juice will help satisfy your sweet tooth in the mid-afternoon.

Studies have shown how a low metabolic rate is closely linked to a low consumption of nutrients; and, both are linked to weight gain – that ever-increasing waistline, which is also a biomarker for an increased risk of developing heart disease. You can remove both problems (extra pounds and risk of heart disease) by eliminating processed, packages foods from your diet and replacing them with fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
The Trim-Down Diet is not intended to be an extreme weight loss diet, it is meant to do exactly as the name implies – to help you “trim-down” in a healthy and reasonable
Hyperlipidemia or increased cholesterol builds up causing narrowing in the arteries, which reduces oxygen rich blood flow to the heart and tissues, also increasing the risk for myocardial infarction. Obesity increases the risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia, increasing the risk of atherosclerosis, and therefore increasing
One of the most important parts of any persuasive essay is the counterclaim. This is where the author states the opposing side’s opinion, and then states why their opinions are wrong. In the article “The Skinny on Low-Fat Diets”, the author talks about the why some people continue to follow the low-fat diet, and why they think it works. It is not only important that the author includes this in his article, but it is mandatory. The counterclaim is what really pushes the article that extra mile to persuade the reader.
In a typical healthy adult, reductions in food intake is quite rare. Reducing the caloric intake of a typical adult inhibits our ability to fight diseases.
-- The weight loss isn’t permanent and may return when you go off the diet

Due to the radical nature of an all-juice fast, the information necessary to begin such a fast is not self-explanatory. The final chapter of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead is written by a nutritionist who details the process of completing a juice fast. Included in her explanation is a ten-step guide to commencing the Reboot. Step 1 is purchasing a juicer; though a juicer is a one-time investment, that initial financial hurdle may discourage people from beginning a Reboot journey. Besides that one-time financial barrier, there are ongoing financial obstacles created by the price of produce used for juicing. Subsequent steps include nutritional advice for beginning the diet (Cross, 2011). Restricting one’s diet to only liquefied fruits and vegetables creates the need for sound nutritional knowledge. Properly nourishing one’s body with only juiced fruits and vegetables is difficult, especially in obtaining sufficient protein from juice alone. The Reboot is not a do-it-yourself diet; professional advice and guidance are imperative for safe and effective results. The cost and preparation associated with an all-juice adventure are also likely to prohibit a large group of people from engaging in
While growing up we learn that the best way to stay healthy and look great is through proper dieting and regular exercise. As we get older and feel the pressure of obtaining perfect looks, the sensationalism of fad dieting can seem like a dream come true. With the desire of a tiny waist plaguing America, it can be difficult to decide between healthy dieting an exercise, or extreme fad diets promising fast results. When choosing which method will work best for you can be stressful, it is important to think about what is really best for your body. Each form of dieting has different long term results, can affect your overall health, and can have an effect on the rest of your appearance.
No one wants to be or feel like they are overweight, unhealthy, or unattractive. When someone in the general public looks in the mirror or steps on the scale, and they are not satisfied with what is being shown, one of the first ideas to bubble to the surface is dieting. There are so many dieting solutions out there and one of the most popular are the fad diets. Dieting should be about getting healthy and losing weight in a healthy way. Fad diets however, are about losing a lot of weight in a disproportionally short amount of time. Due to the loss of weight that the dieter wanted, when they reach their goal weight, they stop doing the fad diet and go back to their regular diet. This causes the weight that they shed to be put back on again in a disproportionally short amount of time, which is also just as unhealthy. This cycle of losing and gaining weight is only one of the many dangers of fad diets.
America is one of the most obese countries in the world, and the reasons are quite obvious. Take a look around. Fast food chains on every block, more and more technology to make our lives easier, and high amount of stress are just a few factors to weight gain in our country. There are many different views on obesity and how the people think it should be resolved, whether it's government making the change or the people taking care of themselves. Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and tripled in adolescents in the past 30 years. Are we doing enough to bring these statistics down? No. In the last 40 years, there has been a growth to more than 160,000 fast food restaurants in America (“Adolescent and School Health”). Restaurants (such as Wendy's, McDonald's etc.) serve more than 50 million people per day, generating about 65 million in sales annually. Only since obesity has become a national epidemic have fast food restaurants changed their ways. But we need to do more than just change the kind of oil the french fries are fried in. Better yet, why don't we remove, or intensely decrease the number of the unhealthy fast food chains, and spread more healthy fast food chains, such as Subway? Is it something government could take act in? Should the United States government take measures to fight the rise of obesity in the country, or are choices concerning diet and nutrition better left to the individuals, free of government interference?
These restrictive or yo-yo diets have lowered rest metabolic rate by 20%. So basically say you ate 1800 calories per day to maintain weight after these diets you would drop to 1440 calories. Sounds nice up front, right? Guess what… you’re not going to eat 1440 you’re going to eat 1800 and you will put those pounds back on plus!!
Eating Responsibly To eat responsibly means to know what you are eating and knowing what you are putting into your body, whether it is healthy for you or not. It’s a sad fact that the typical American diet (high in meat and processed foods) is not healthy. There are a lot of different ways to stay healthy, but it can also be very difficult to follow a good diet plan all the time. I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I have tried to eat well before all of my classes. I include the necessary protein of eggs and sausage, and include a fruit of some kind.
