Having to go to school is something that people dread to do, although education is what drives most people to go forward. An education is an important thing to have because everyone would need it to be able to help in their society. Being able to receive a proper education is essential because one day someone might be able to overcome something that wasn’t able to be overcome in the past. Then any men, women, or even children can make the difference in the world, even if it is just a small difference. Even though with the goodness that someone has, it could help with the education that they have may be too much for them. What if thinking that they would think that they are better than anybody else just because of the education that they have …show more content…
Though, there are some school who don’t help out with those who need it more but there are some that do. In “Underserved L.A.Schools Showing Resilience and Replicable Models Despite Significant Obstacles,” from the L.A. Times, this article talks about Xochitl Avellan who believes that the American dream is education. She is one of those educators who will help every student there is.Avellan says, “ You have to show them, not just with words, but your actions speak louder than words,” (1). With working hard to be able to meet what they are trying to aim for they will get to what they dream for. Helping students and being able to build a relationship that people strive for so that everyone can help those kids go after what they want to be. With going to school everyone can do that to get an education, but there are some who don’t go to school to receive education. They receive it in different ways and become people who we will always remember. In “Learning to Read,” Malcolm X tells his story of how he got to where he was. He never finished school and didn’t go to college but he somehow became very knowledgeable. Malcolm X received his education from prison, by starting to read from a dictionary. “ In fact, prison enabled me to study far more intensively than I would have if my life had gone differently and I had attended some college,” (197). Seeing that you don’t have to go to school to receive some high education. Anyone can receive it any place they are or be self taught. Cause anyone can end up being someone greater than those with a diploma in their
Many great minds believe that education is a powerful tool. Investing in your education is the most valuable and most rewarding thing a person can do to secure their future. Influential people who have brought positive changes to the world have said: “The investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. (Franklin). “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. (Nelson Mandela). “A brighter future starts with an education”. (Montgomery).
Education is one of the most important things about life. Malcolm X ,African American leader and prominent figure in the Nation of Islam, wasn't always as inspiring as he was. He did many horrible things in his past and it lead him to jail. Malcolm X was embarrassed by the way he wrote and spoke. The thing that saved him and lead him to a better future was books. He read books and dictionary over and over again until he memorized each definition and started using those words in reality. In the article, “Learning to Read” by Malcolm X, Malcolm states “I told the Englishman that my alma mater was books, a good library”. This means that the education he got was
The education system has been changing in recent years and the same problems that existed continue to get worse as years pass. Problems that were seen as minor at first have now grown. How to change the public higher education system has been a major topic of discussion but there has still been no major action taken. We struggle to figure out how much funding is needed for higher education and where it should come from. Our people continue to suffer from an underfunded high cost system. The wealthy minority of people continue to be the only ones accounted for and it is time to change this. We need to adapt to the changes and the costs that continue to rise. It is time to help the struggling middle and lower classes. I believe that the best
College education goes about the way to an effective future for people who are not kidding with it. Currently, a college education has turned in the base necessity in securing a job in different companies and although some people might think college is not worth the debt, in a long run it actually is.
The downfall of the US Public Education system is very concerning to me. A number of children are leaving the school system without the proper tools for them to be successful and productive. Over the years, schools have been victims of budget cuts; therefore, they are no longer able to supply children with sufficient and basic needs for success. There are several factors other than budget cuts that contribute to young adults leaving school without the proper tools for success.
Albert Einstein once said “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that is it stupid.” Sir Ken Robinson stated that schools are destroying children 's creativity with their curriculum, there are many facts that support this idea. Students are required to think a specific way, prepare the way teachers want them to be prepared. Students also have their own opinion, because they are not afraid to be wrong, and need a way to move forward.
Education has been a hot topic in every political campaign, top news headline, and teacher’s first thought when they head to their classroom to teach America’s future. The education system is the most vulnerable aspect of a nation. It is the building block for creating successful individuals who dare to dream of changing the world and have the power of doing things people only dream of. A country is only as strong as the weakest link and for America it’s the uneducated. For as long as anyone can remember there has been one thing that the majority of the news headlines, workers strikes, and state questions have revolved around, education reform. Three highly educated authors provide three common overlapping issues that harshly impact the education system in the United States. In the article “Why the United States is destroying
Going to school is something that children do at a young age. The idea of school is ingrained into children at as early as six weeks of age in a daycare. As the child grows older they enter elementary school, middle school, and then high school. Within the schools there are students, administrative staff, nurses, volunteers, and of course teachers. Then questions are asked. What really is the purpose of school? How can a teacher gain student’s attention when they are thinking about things outside of school? How are the students different from one another? What determines between a good and bad teacher? How can character be successfully be integrated into schools? These are a few questions that were addressed in the book You Can’t Teach Through
“We don 't need no education; we don 't need no thought control…All in all you 're just another brick in the wall.” Pink Floyd’s huge 1979 hit “Another Brick in the Wall” annoyed a generation of teachers as children chanted, “We don’t need no education.” Roger Waters wrote this song about his views on formal education. Many across the world related with these lyrics as they felt that compulsory education was an imposed law designed to keep people from truly becoming educated and instead had them bored. Compulsory education teaches conformity—its an agenda that has been followed through out many decades, because even those who teach have had it instilled that this is the right teaching. Students need to be encouraged to have the qualities to
Education gives people the competence and skills to pilot the world. It also allows people to provide and contribute to their society and community. Like Nelson Mandela said “ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Similar to our lives, our educational journeys are different from one another. My educational journey was a very complicated journey. My family and mentors supported me, so was able to overcome those obstacles. The biggest motivation that got me through this journey was my father’s courage and love for education.
A college education is necessary today in society. Students can focus on their academics and try to get a high score. The cost of education for each student has become more difficult to afford. Thus, many students and teachers wonder if free college tuition must be granted. Free education must be responsible and funded by the U.S. government because it will help students focus on their studies, and encourage them to work harder in school. Even thought many people think that education must be free, it is very important for many reasons such as the economy, quality of education, and value of a college degree.
Education is meant to be the key to a successful life. It is supposed to inspire great ideas, and prepare each and every generation for their future. However, school for today 's generation fails to meet those requirements. Every student knows education is important, but when school is not engaging or in some cases, even relevant, it makes learning difficult. Improving the school system is something educators attempt to accomplish every year. Despite their best efforts, there are numerous flaws students see, but adults overlook. There is a lack of diversity for students to learn, an overabundance of testing, and students’ voices are being ignored on how to create a more productive learning experience.
“Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.” John F. Kennedy. The current state of the education system leaves much to be desired. The United States was once head of the class in respect to the effectiveness of the educational system. This has not been the case in recent years. There are a wide variety of reasons for this decline but what are the core requirements that need to be focused on to become the world leader in education again? The three key areas that are necessary for a successful educational system are support, structure, and ownership.
In a person’s life, they learn from everything around them, and take in everything that they see, and learn from all of it. Hopefully, they get a good result so that they may be able to make a difference in the world around them. I feel that I have to tools to make the changes that I want, and the knowledge to know how to make these changes. I look toward the future with a bright outlook, and know that to keep learning is the key to making my bright outlook the truth. For my future and the future of people younger and older than me, education will always be the key.
Education gives us the ability to change our life by opening successful pathways. Education provides us a better future because learning new things and majoring in things that we like could give us better opportunity. Education is the right pathway to a better life because it gives us knowledge that would help us in the future. Education should be prioritized over issues because education is always important. Education is a very important need in our lives because people are able to achieve and strive for a better life style.
