Stop Animal Testing Animal testing is unsafe for all animals from around the world; indeed, “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year” (Top Five Shocking Animal Experimentation Facts). Various animal examinations, do not benefit the lives of guiltless animals. These analyses are to prove an element is safe to use on humans. The testing behind theses products are relatively dangerous to all animals. Fortunately, in today’s society, scientists have found solutions to help prevent animal testing all around the globe. To begin, there are many alternatives for animal testing. A solution to this problem is human skin, in this case, there is a test called, SenCeeTox, which uses a 3-D, human-derived …show more content…
skin model. Next, human skin is feasible because its results are quick and accurate. The article forwards that the test is, “A skin-sensitivity test developed by the research organization CeeTox, Inc....a model that replicates key traits of human skin more accurately than cruel tests on guinea pigs and mice” (PETA). To justify, this skin-sensitivity test can help save animals by, replacing the use of guinea pigs, mice and other animals, in tests to regulate allergic reactions. With this test, animals will no longer have to suffer from harmful chemicals on their skin. This skin-sensitivity exam will help eliminate animal testing, benefiting each animal’s lives. Similarly, the results to this skin-sensitivity procedure is more precise than in animal testing. In addition, this solution is economically affordable, and it will protect the animals that are in danger. The report enunciates, “Because the initial results have been so promising, validation studies will now be conducted by Cosmetics Europe” (The Ethical Treatment of Animals). To analyze, tens of thousands of animals worldwide will be spared from chemical allergy evaluations. By years, animal testing will decrease in states from all around the world. Moreover, using sophisticated computer programs, is another solution to help terminate animal testing.
There are various choices to help educate the community about banning animal testing. Computer programs are feasible because it is easy and, less expensive than using animals. The report bestows, “In addition to being more humane, non-animal teaching tools such as computer simulations and models are also more economical than traditional animal-based teaching exercises” (ISSUE). To illuminate, many schools can save tens of thousands of dollars each year by implementing reusable replacements for animal specimens; in this situation, using sophisticated computer programs. The solution to using computer programs is financially and legally possible because, it is not pricey and it does not break the law. In like manner, there are a great number of medical schools in the united states, who have made a change in their education. For example, “Stanford, and Yale, have replaced their use of live animals in physiology, pharmacology, and/or surgical-training exercises with humane and effective non-animal teaching methods” (Peta2 Free For All Issue). To refine, research has shown that non-animal teaching methods are more effective than animal testing. Using sophisticated computer programs will keep animals out of dangerous
experimentations. Furthermore, the most effective solution to help terminate animal testing is, Organs-on-Chips. This solution is financially, and morally practical because it is rationally priced, and will easily protect the innocent animals from harmful experimentations. Harvard’s Wyss Institute, who has generated Organs-on-Chips surmises that their instrument, “Contain human cells grown in a state-of-the-art system to mimic the structure and function of human organs and organ systems” (PeTA). To explain, this chip that holds human organs, can be used for lab examinations instead of animals. This will benefit animals by keeping them safe, and alive from deadly inspections. Organs-on-Chips as a solution, is feasible because the chip mimics the human organ system, and is more precise. Additionally, the chip gives a more accurate result in various tests, like drug testing. The article asserts, “ Toxicity testing has been shown to replicate human physiology, diseases, and drug responses more accurately than crude animal experiments do” (PeTA). To illustrate, using Organs-on-Chips for experimentations in laboratories, will not only assist the animals in their safety, but this will give the scientists a more accurate response, than using innocent animals. In conclusion, the world we live in today is making it probable for feasible solutions for banning animal testing. Human skin is a significant replacement for animal examinations. Likewise, sophisticated computer programs are also a great alternative for keeping animals out of the labs. A more effective substitute is Organs-on-Chips, which will truly benefit the poor animals in a way to keep them out of danger, and harmful chemicals. Using these alternatives will make the rate of animal testing tremendously drop. With these existing solutions, animals will no longer have to live in danger. It is important to keep animals out of labs, and prevent them from being exposed to deadly chemicals. Clearly, these viable alternatives will help stop animal testing, along with redundant evaluations.
In modern society, animal experimentation has triggered a controversy; consequently, vast amount of protests have been initiated by the animal rights community. Although these organizations have successfully broadcast their concerns toward animal experimentation, its application continues to survive. Sally Driscoll and Laura Finley inform that there remain fifty million to one-hundred million animals that experience testing or experimentation throughout the world on a yearly basis. But despite opposition, animal experimentation, the use of experiments on animals in order to observe the effects an unknown substance has on living creatures, serves multiple purposes. Those particular purposes are: research of the living body, the testing of products, and the advancement of medicine.
Over 100 Million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned and abused in testing labs every year. Animals are used to test the safety of products, advance scientific research, and develop models to study disease and to develop new medical treatments, all for the sake of mankind. Animals should not be used for scientific research because animal testing is inhumane, other testing methods now exist, and animals are very different from human beings. While animal testing has led to many life-saving cures, animal testing is cruel and inhumane because it involves inflicting pain and harm on the test subject to study its effects and remedies. Testing involves physically restraining, force-feeding, and depriving animals of food and water.
Animals are used as a part of experimentations in order to accomplish new openings. A few individuals think that it is satisfactory, while others contend that it is not moral to sacrifice animals for science. Estimated, that fifty to one hundred million of animals are used for tests in the world. Despite the significance of experiments, the quantity of animals and purpose of research are not under any control. Animals testing should be banned under a few circumstances; we can enhance the situation by using alternative ways such as replacement, reduction, and refinement according to International Society for Applied Ethology.

Nowadays, with the modern technology, it would be really easy to find alternative procedures to find a cure for a certain disease or to test if a certain cosmetic product is safe. Also, it would be easier to find an alternative way to test beauty products instead of making animals blind. Even though it is a fact that experimenting with the help of the advanced technology with no animals involved is cheaper than torturing animals, animal testing is still on-going. This is one of the many reasons why animal testing should be banned and scientists should intensively search for alternatives where no living being will be harmed or killed.
Sadly according to the Humane Society International (HSI) article About Animal Testing “in the United states alone around 26 million animals are tested each year for medical and commercial research” (HSI) even though animal testing is not required to ensure that the cosmetic being sold are safe. From those 26 million animals being tested most are not protected by the federal Animal Welfare Act. The animal welfare act does not include birds, rats and mice bred for research, and it doesn’t include cold-blooded animals. Animals testing should be banned because the animals tested suffer immensely, also animal tested is unethical, and because there are many alternatives.
Every year millions of animals are abused, injured, and hurt. It seems as if humans are not very concerned about animal rights according to these statistics.. Animal rights is the idea that animals should not have to suffer and be able to be in possession of their life. Some people are willing to sacrifice things such as certain brands of makeup or certain kinds of food to improve animal welfare. For many years animals have been experimented on and placed in factory farms. Factory farming is a method of producing food products where the factories value how much they produce and how much they profit over the welfare of the animals. These farms keep animals confined in small spaces and make the animals eat things they were not originally
Current animal testing has been a contentious subject ever since it started off 150 years back. Although a lot of people discover animal testing inhumane and egoistic, it is an important factor to boost our understanding of medication and to improve our understanding of science. Animal testing, to some, is the way to ameliorate our level of living and preserve many lives, and therefore has many benefits. On the other hand, the negatives may not be passed, and scientists are constantly trying to decrease the damage with some methods they create in the process. Even so, to the dismay of numerous animal lovers in addition to those who are endeavoring for animal rights, animal testing will not be stopped every time soon because, for now, it is the most trustworthy form of testing that includes the safety of daily products we use more carefully than any other procedure.
Is animal testing really worth taking away animal’s valuable lives? No, I think it’s wrong, inhumane, and cruel. Animals have feelings like humans do and they should be treated with respect even though they are just animals. When animals are tested over time they live in cruel and harsh conditions. They are tied up and changed to their cages or devices they are being tested on. Almost all tests fail in humans and it is not worth sacrificing an animals life.Think about all the things animals have to go through all the harsh and cruel treatment. They are put in conditions where they are not allowed to eat or drink and move around. Is it really worth killing an animals for eyeliner that will never hit the market or for drugs that all fail in humans. So here are some of the reasons I think we should ban all animal testing.
Animal testing has been in practice since the early 300’s BCE, often used by ancient philosophers to advance the very little knowledge at the time in the field of biomedicine. Some of these philosophers who began animal testing are well known, such as Aristotle and Erasistratus. Another scientist named Ibn Zuhr came up with the idea of using animals to test surgical procedures on animals before beginning them on human patients (Hajar). Rachel Hajar, M.D., states that animal testing began to undergo criticism from animal welfare and protection groups because of the inhumane procedures inflicted on the animals. These groups had laws passed in many countries that gave the animals more protection when being researched upon. Scientists who support animal testing insist that it is necessary to expand our knowledge in the science and medicine world. Claude Bernard, a physiologist, says “Experiments on animals are entirely conclusive for the toxicology and hygiene of man. The effects of these substances are the same on man as on animals, save for differences in degree” (“Animal Testing and Medicine”). Because of the large amount of debate ...
Today, millions of animals are being tested for the use of human products, causing them to fall ill and die, leaving them no choice but to be experimented on. Animal abuse can be more than what meets the eye. Specifically, animal testing is a form of animal abuse and usually ends in the death of a harmless animal. Some might say that there is no other way to test products, but due to the harm that is done and our advancements in science, animal testing should not be tolerated. Our advancements in science have enabled us to create other things that we can test on, instead of harming innocent animals.
Animal testing has long played a part in the science of testing, and it still plays a very important role in the medical world. Testing on animals in order to create a cure for AIDS is one thing, but testing on animals for human vanity is another. Animal testing is used to test the safety of a product. It has kept some very unsafe substances out of the cosmetic world. However, in this day in age, animal testing is not the only way to test the safety of a product. Animal testing in cosmetics has decreased over the years. However, it is still used by many companies in America. Animal testing is not only cruel, but it is also unnecessary in today’s advanced scientific world.
Animal testing is one the most beyond cruelty against animals. It is estimated about 7 million innocent animals are electrocuted, blinded, scalded, force-fed chemicals, genetically manipulated, killed in the name of science. By private institutions, households products, cosmetics companies, government agencies, educational institutions and scientific centers. From the products we use every day, such as soap, make-up, furniture polish, cleaning products, and perfumes. Over 1 million dogs, cats, primates, sheep, hamsters and guinea pigs are used in labs each year. Of those, over 86,000 are dogs and cat. All companies are most likely to test on animals to make patients feel safe and are more likely to trust medicines if they know they have been tested on animals first (PETA, N.D, page 1). These tests are done only to protect companies from consumer lawsuits. Although it’s not quite true, Humans and animals don’t always react in the same way to drugs. In the UK an estimated 10,000 people are killed or severely disabled every year by unexpected reactions to drugs, all these drugs have passed animal tests. Animal testing is often unpredictable in how products will work on people. Some estimates say up to 92 percent of tests passed on animals failed when tried on humans (Procon.org, 2014, page 1). Animal testing can’t show all the potential uses for a drug. The test results are...
Animals have held an important spot in many of our lives. Some people look at animals as companions and others see them as a means of experimental research and medical advancement. With the interest to gain knowledge, physicians have dissected animals. The ethics of animal testing have always been questioned because humans do not want to think of animals on the same level as humans. Incapable of our thinking and unable to speak, animals do not deserve to be tested on by products and be conducted in experiments for our scientific improvement. Experimentation on animals is cruel, unfair, and does not have enough beneficial results to consider it essential.
Hundreds of millions of animals die every year from animal testing in the United States. Innocent animals are used everyday in laboratories for biology advancements, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic testing. They are used to provide information to make better products that are safe for human use. Although animal experimentation has some benefits, the negatives outweigh the positives. Animal testing is killing off innocent beings for the possible human benefit, and with modern technology, there are alternative ways to test products that leave animals unharmed.
