Once, women were considered a burden by their father giving a dowry to their husbands, letting the men to control the women, keeping them as a trophy wife or property. Today women are given equal treatment and can occupy any job and be the boss of many men. Families today are very have been dramatically altered over the years with the stereotypical mom and dad not being the only family dynamic. In today’s society, parents vary depending on their sexual orientation, the impact technology has played in families, and purpose a family has been altered.
Recently, gay marriage has been legalized giving many the freedom to get married to whom they choose. Thus, giving

everybody an equal foundation to start a family of their own. This has changed the roles of parents because some are not the conventional mom and dad one is used to seeing. this allows for parents to have their roles set by their area of expertise, unlike before where society set these roles. For instance, for many years the mother was the one to clean and cook, because that was all she had been taught. However, this practice has slowly been outgrown in the last decades due to women being able to get jobs and equal pay. Women are now allowed to attend school to earn a degree and become a professional in their chosen career. ALthough not all women may choose to work, the option is there. As a result,parents have been able to share these roles whether their parents be man and man or man and women. ON the other hand, A child may be raised by a single parent with the same opportunity as any other child. For it used to be frowned upon if you get divorced or had a child out of wedlock. It has become more common therefore adding to the acceptance. A single parent today is better equipped to raise their child through help like child support. Although a child be exposed to hardships, this them a different outlook on life.

Versus the old times in which if you were infertile, you had no kids and could potentially lose your bloodline. Parents now rely on tv and game consoles to entertain their kids where as before one encouraged their kids to go outside to play in the sun. This causes a change in communication within families bc their interactaction is very little due to their time on twitter, instagram or facebook. Consequently, children are exposed to stories and beliefs that may create a rift between a parent and a child. For example, they see television shows in which the norm is to drink and party, so they go to parties to try to fit in. This results in a child rebelling against their parents and they start to despise them. Which contributes to the higher pregnancy rates or number of accident among teens to have rise due to teens ignoring their parents advice.
A family’s role in today’s society has changed, in which the whole family is expected to all do great.

Unlike old times in which only the eldest obtained the rights and land to curate while the others were just expected to marry well. Every parents’ goal is to get their children to have a better life than what they endured. HOwever, not wanting their children to suffer they spoil and enable their children to the extreme. Thus, children are unprepared for the real world because they had never been exposed to the truth. Parents tend to disregard their children's actions and blame others for their mistakes. For instance, if a child is given a F in class, parents go to the teacher demanding a reason as to why that happened. Versus holding their kid responsible, for they know the rules and requirements that are needed to obtain an A. Parents are forgetting to instill key character traits like discipline and responsibil in order to succeed in life without the help of mommy and daddy. Hence, the generation of teens that complain about everything and are unprepared for a job or college that are essential to them being thriving

adults.
