As protesters begin to take action on their opinions about the justice system, a debate has come upon us. Each one of us stand for the flag to honor all those who have died to give us freedom. Kneeling during the national anthem doesn’t get people that are trying to prove a point nowhere, sometimes it even makes things worse for them. Nobody ever gets respect by showing disrespect. Protesting during the national anthem is uncivil and a shame to the flag. Refusing to stand for the national anthem is very disrespectful, especially because america has done so much for the humanity. People come to america for better opportunities and for more rights. Not standing for the anthem doesn’t get people to prove their point like malcolm jenkins said “my grandfather served in the military and this is ia country I love so, me not standing isn’t going to get me the results I want (refusing to stand for the national anthem).” Although it may get the media talking for some time and actually getting people convinced enough that they start going to their side still wouldn’t get the message across because families of people fighting for us find it disrespectful that athletes or whoever is protesting doesn’t show respect for people risking their …show more content…

A parent of a armed force soldier said “ pray before or pray after. Taking a knee during the national anthem these days screams disrespect for our flag, our country, and our troops. My son and the entire armed forces deserve better than that ( refusing to stand for the national anthem).” There is people that understand the message they are trying to get out there but still think that they can show it in a different way because not standing to show respect for the flag is way too
