Persuasive Essay Can I ask you a question? Do you enjoy recess and lunch? Well, I do. The reason why I'm asking you this is because some school has very small amount of time for recess and lunch, and school may not have recess nor lunch. That's why I want to make our recess and lunch longer. Also people can be more healthy. If you don't why it's healthy to play let me explain why it is. I want to make our lunch and recess a little bit longer than we have. The reason why kids need recess and lunch is because kids like us needs Vitamin D which are from sunlight. Vitamin D absorbs calcium to promote our bone to grow. If you just stay in classes and barley get any sunshine you get a diseases called chronic diseases. Also your bones can become
softer and weaker. Not only it gives us sunlight for the Vitamin D, we just need more fun and we need exercise. We need to have more time to play around because just learning is boring and some people might be better with home school because you can play with them after. If students don't get to hang out with each other by having fun then there are no reasons why you shouldn't have to go to school If we had more time we would be able to maybe make new friends or if you are a slow eater you can take time. The finale thing about have a longer time in recess if you make friends and you can have some you trust. If the time is up and if you are still eating you might lose protein or you might just throw it away. What i'm trying to say is that students should have more times to hang out or eat. The school should have students to have more sunlight and recess for growth of our bone. We should have kids to meet other people and to have more fun.
From 2011-2017, 20.5% of children from 12 to 19 years old were obese. Supporters believe this is so because of unhealthy eating choices and not getting enough physical activity. The percentage of children with obesity in the United States has more than tripled since the 1970s. Today about one in five school children ages six through 19 have obesity. Not having recess in middle school is causing a lot less physical activity and that is causing a higher rate of obesity in America.
Are teachers enforcing discipline mechanisms in a healthy way for children? Researchers would answer no to this question because of one major factor: removing recess from a child’s school day. In Jessica Lahey’s article, “Students Who Lose Recess Are the Ones Who Need It Most”, she states that “schools continue to take away recess privileges as a penalty for academic or behavioral transgressions”. Many teachers follow this procedure because they assume that they are teaching the child how to act with appropriate behaviors. However, it is a proven fact that eliminating a student’s recess results in a negative outcome. Therefore, recess should not be removed from a child’s school day because this recreation plays a role in their physical health,
Based on the article on The National Sleep Foundation, when it's time for school the average teen body still thinks it's the middle of the night.
When kids are getting their necessary period of interrupted play it has great benefits in the classroom helping their cognitive skills to grow. As children get to play at regular intervals through out the day, they children are able to diminish stress and other types of distractions so when they sit down they are more attentive and productive.
School days should be shorter fro students because they do not get enough sleep, have to much homework, and have barley have time to participate in extra curricular activities. A majority of students have sleep depravation due to school. If school would either start or end late students will have a greater opportunity to get more sleep. Teachers expect students to pay attention for 90 minutes while the night before they were up late finishing their homework for there classes. Some teachers do not realize that students have a life and work or have other obligations that take up a major portion of the students.
The first reason why young children should play sports is because it keeps you healthy. Sports help them to stay in shape because, the Aspen Institute, a nonprofit organization that does humanistic studies said, “Exercise is
When I was in kindergarten we were allowed three recesses. This seems like a lot compared to today's students who are only allowed one fifteen-minute recess. During my recesses I do not remember focusing on academics. I was usually playing with friends and working on problem solving without even realising it. Most of the time we would play two hand touch football. At first glance this does not seem very academic, and to be fair it wasn’t exactly. I was not learning academically but I was learning in other areas. Playing sports is a great way to build teamwork, as well as learning how to work together to solve problems. In the classroom I was learning how to solve math problems by myself, which was not giving me a chance to try and solve problems with my peers. This playtime gave me the chance to work with friends and build relationships, which is hard to do in only 15 minutes. So, while I believed that I was giving my brain a break from learning, I was actually still learning in different areas. My experience with recess leads me to believe that allowing playtime throughout the day is not only a good thing for learning academically, but is also very important because it gives the students a chance to work on other areas of development that are usually brushed over in school

To start with, Physical activity helps the brain, It also gives children a chance to socialize, lastly, it gives children time to let the brain relax. Yes, I think that we should definitely have recess. Firstly, Physical activity helps the brain.
Having recess can help kids be more physically active. For example, The American Heart Association News, a news organization, stated that, ”Recess time has been championed as a way to help combat the nation’s childhood obesity problem. Studies also have shown that the
Since we were in kindergarten, we were taught to follow rules, form single file lines, and always told what to do. This “order” continues for the rest of your life if you decide to follow the education system. Why was school created? Everything school teaches has shaped our world for decades. School has influenced students to be on time and let them believe that a letter grade determines whether they are smart or stupid. Also, it teaches students how to memorize and not actually learn material. What is the purpose of school? Is it to make us smarter? Many students ask themselves this question right before a big test that will determine whether he/she receives a title in a specific subject. School is said to be place of greatness. However, it slowly teacher students how to be prepared to work in factory and office jobs. The next tardy goes from punishment to termination, the teacher turns
I am against having a longer recess do you wan’t to know why?. I wouldn’t mind a longer recess but the longer recess, makes lunch longer that makes the day longer at schools you could be stuck at School for 8 hours. I understand you want more play time but it will extend your day. It will interfear with how well your learning. If you are learning less you could potentialy fail in collage and not get a job!
Should school start at 7:00 or should it start later in the morning? In Douglas High School, start times are at 7:30 in the morning. Changing the school schedule to a later start time would result in many other changes affecting a lot of people. According to the Sleep Foundation, "The change will affect the entire community, from students and parents to businesses, libraries, police, youth sports clubs, bus drivers and many others." Altering the school schedule would influence numerous aspects of people’s lives. Highly coordinated routines would have to be changed and adapted to the new schedule. A later release time would take time off of students’ free time in the afternoon. Clubs, sports, jobs, and other after-school activities would have
The principal is making the whole school to do an after school activity. What if the kids have other important things to do like having a ride home or too busy doing other things after school that isn't school related? I think this is strongly unfair to kids that don't have time for any after school activity or can't afford to do an after school activity. Kids have a myriad amount of reasons for not staying after school. These are some reasons why I strongly disagree with forcing kids to do an after school activities.
For most of the delinquent students got caught from their slightly misbehaving act for the first few times is not really a problem. Outdoor Preschools Most of the parents enjoy our regular schools without thinking that there are better options available for their little preschoolers. Try to imagine a preschool where kids spend all of their time outside in the park or forest. Can you picture it? Good!
