Processed sugar is found in most of our prepacked foods, then it must be safe? Actually it is the cause for most of our health issues and we need to try alternatives, or we will have serious health issues. In the 1960s, there were 2 scientists and the debate was over fat and sugar health risks. After this debate, fat was declared to be the issue with all of our modern health issues and companies soon started to get rid of extra fat from their products. In the 2000s, the debate opened again and the decision was processed sugar is the issue and the corporations revolted and told the world, exercise is the fixed and this is what people think today. The difference between natural sugar and processed sugar is how the body process it and the difference is like a dripping faucet versus a faucet that is at full blast. Consumers should avoid buying processed foods and drinks that have high amounts of processed sugar because it has a negative impact on the human body.

Consumer need to cut down their sugar intake by drinking more water, or buying natural sugar. Natural sugar has its faults like high blood pressure, but not cancer, or liver disease. There are new things that are found in processed sugar like Somalia, or anything the factory produces. The corporation says that processed sugar is better because it has been cured from disease by using bleach, but they are destroying the natural effects of sugar. The natural effects of sugar are simple, telling the body it doesn’t need anymore. Natural sugars are never bare sugars usually, they are found in fruits like berries and citrus and sugar

This created the fat-free boom in the market in the 1980s. However, food companies began to put more sugar in their products because the taste was bad when they reduced fat in the food. Now, the sugar intake of Americans has doubled compared with before. In the American market, there are approximately 600,000 different food products, and 80% of those include sugar. Although sugar is written in various forms and names, one suggests that it’s bad in any form, especially if taken too much. Sugar consumed naturally through fiber-rich fruit or vegetable should be fine, but the added sweeteners stimulate the hormones that increase insulin. High insulin prevents people from thinking they are full, and thus crave more food. This causes many diseases. Of course one meal high in sugar will not kill them, but the problem is that people generally exceed daily sugar intake in one meal alone when consuming process food. We eat more processed and convenient food instead of fruits, vegetables, and
In the documentary “Fed Up,” sugar is responsible for Americas rising obesity rate, which is happening even with the great stress that is set on exercise and portion control for those who are overweight. Fed Up is a film directed by Stephanie Soechtig, with Executive Producers Katie Couric and Laurie David. The filmmaker’s intent is mainly to inform people of the dangers of too much sugar, but it also talks about the fat’s in our diets and the food corporation shadiness. The filmmaker wants to educate the country on the effects of a poor diet and to open eyes to the obesity catastrophe in the United States. The main debate used is that sugar is the direct matter of obesity. Overall, I don’t believe the filmmaker’s debate was successful.
Coke continuously out-stands Pepsi, even though they share a very similar taste and colour, however Coke should not be the drink that receives all the love and attention for what it offers. Despite their similar soda colour, the drinks actually contain some different ingredients, which produce a different taste, and affect the body differently. Furthermore, the way the companies markets their drinks makes a huge contribution to how successful their products will become. The major element for success however stems from their impact on society and how the companies utilize their social power to evolve. The two major soda companies are constantly head to head with one another, yet it is what they do that sets them apart.

A soda tax aims to stop consumers from buying soda to help those who are obese. This will not be effective. Therefore a soda tax will not be good public policy.

Surveys have shown that sugar-sweetened beverages are the primary source of added sugar in our diets. According to a Coca-Cola history website, the soft-drinks’ bottle sizes have been enlarged drastically over the past 40 years, basically meaning that we are drinking more soft drinks than ever. As an example, half of the population in the US consume sugary drinks every day, in which about 25 percent gain at least 200 calories from these drinks.
