Imagine you were told that you couldn't live somewhere or do something because you had a specific look and people felt threatened because of it.Or maybe you look like a bad influence or did bad things even though you're innocent. It's like false judgment for the first time and thinking right away they are a danger to this society. But also they will not let you live your life without being mistreated or stereotyped, is this the right thing to do or fair? (AMVA 1). Well no this is not right, This is the worst thing to do to breeds, but this is happening in our country today and all around this world. “BSL is to ban certain dogs mainly pit bulls because of their look, to decrease the dog bites on humans or other animals”(ASPCA 1). BSL mainly focuses on a certain look or appearance instead of actual breed. Pitbulls are the most victims being used against this breed specific. So many dogs that don't do a thing suffer; With no evidence what breed they are. Some dog owners are forced to give up their breed or move somewhere where to breed …show more content…

A big chunk of BSL is focused on breeds known as “pit bulls” being dangerous or showed any dangerous/ violent behavior. It all started in the early 1980’s when injuries caused by specific breeds caught the public's attention and they viewed them as negative breeds. The USA enacted a restraint of certain breeds. Lucinda Schmidt, author of “global issues in context” in an article published in dogs on a death row, asserts “dog owners are being denied fundamental justice and fairness and it leaves the community exposed because its not working”(3). There is no freedom in owning a certain dog breed. It is unfair for animals to be denied as a breed and the fact that this “law does not improve community safety and all they do is punish”(3) is horrible. The USA needs to loosen its restraint on certain dog breeds because it does nothing for dog
