There are a ton of reasons why you might need to park your car for an extended period in a big city. Probably, the most common is going on vacation. But, if you commonly use public transit, your car may not get used for days or weeks. In any case, a parking garage is a good choice for this kind of parking. It offers certain benefits that other kinds of parking do not provide, especially if you use ParkWhiz. The Benefits of Parking Garages for Extended Parking Convenience - Parking the vehicle in a parking garage close to home or work is the ultimate in convenience. It is where you can easily access it, without the worry of street parking. When you are ready, it is a short walk or ride to the garage and the car is back on the streets with
The choice to lower the amount of spaces available is to leave room for a nice park. At the front of the parking lot will be a kiosk and two gates where tourists will grab a ticket and also pay as they leave. This will ensure that the fee of five dollars per hour is being paid by keeping those in who haven’t paid it. The money from that fee would go to maintain the parking lot and bettering the park. To not build a parking garage at this time may anger some businesses, but the city will agree to look into the issue again in five years and decide then what should be done, if
In recent years the full size pick up truck has become popular. That said buying a vehicle has become difficult because there many options available. There are SUV’S, CUV’s, coupes, sedans, sub-compact, compact, and pickups. So this makes it difficult for someone to choose a vehicle that best meets ones needs. A Pickup truck is a good option for you if you enjoy off road trips.
Parking on Campus is a Pain New students entering Concordia College are not permitted to have a car on campus. With each new freshman class entering every year, parking represents an issue. Concordia is as of now constrained in its parking on campus and since first year students are not permitted to have cars, the students are confronted with the problem of having no place to park or parking very a long way from their goal. There are parking issues everywhere throughout the campus, making backups in residence hall and other lots, bringing about students parking illegally to avoid from walking far distances, which can be very aggravating in the bitter cold. Parking nearer appears like the reasonable thing to do, however it is a hazard, which
Sidewalks are different shapes and sizes, people tend to make their own decisions to which way they would want to go. Going through the motions on a sidewalk is similar as going through the motions of life. There are many turns that could get you to your final destination and turns that can also get you into places you would not feel so comfortable being. Staying on the right path and trying to get to where you need to go isn’t so hard but when you have other sidewalks with nice grass and big beautiful street lights that can be a very big distraction to the eye and that could cause problems in your life. Nice sidewalks sometimes don't always tend to continue a nice path so they can be very believing at first but when you make it to the end
One does not have to go far. I am pretty sure that students here at California State University Dominguez Hills experience this every day. One might think that by paying a whole semester parking pass, guarantees a quick parking space. The reality is that is not true it might take up to thirty minutes or more to find a parking space. That is why is good to plan ahead before time. The need for parking is not just here, is all over Los Angeles. I remember when I used to live in the apartment buildings in West Los Angeles, sometimes we were not able to park on the same street we lived on. So we would find parking three to four streets away sometimes even more and during the weekends it was the worst to find a parking
New students entering Western Michigan University are allowed to have a car on campus. With every new freshmen class entering each year, parking poses a problem. WMU is already limited in its parking on campus and since freshmen are allowed to have cars, the students are faced with the dilemma of having nowhere to park or parking quite far from their destination. There are parking problems all over the campus, creating backups in residence hall and other lots, resulting in students parking illegally to avoid walking far distances, which can be quite irritating in the bitter cold. Parking closer seems like the rational thing to do, but it is a risk, which can result in hundreds of dollars worth of traffic tickets, or having your car toed away.
In determining how to make the sidewalks a better place for everyone, one must consider what it is that renders the sidewalks “better.” What does “better” encompass? Would eliminating homelessness, the “broken windows,” cause people to feel safer on the streets? Alternatively, would eliminating the stigma surrounding the homeless allow people to see the sidewalk workers as beneficial contributors to the sidewalk? With these ideas in mind and with knowledge of New York sidewalks from Mitchell Duneier’s novel, Sidewalk, I can contemplate the actions I would take to make the sidewalks a better place for everyone, if I had necessary, and assumedly unlimited, power to do so.
Drunk driving, sleeping at the wheel, and loss of control of a vehicle could be a thing of the past when it comes to new innovations being made towards self-driving cars. When one thinks of a “self-driving” car, it means not having to pay attention to the actual driving and going about putting make-up on or playing on your phone while the car takes you where you want to go, sounds completely sci-fi, but it is likely to happen in the near future. With advances in technology, the car is able to use satellites, cameras, and sensors to take the driver where he or she needs to go. Many companies are researching, manufacturing, and testing different
Parking by the dormitories is almost impossible. Students who live at particular dorms find themselves faced with the problem of having to park on the other side of campus. Those who live in Brown Hall, which is behind the Thompson center, have the most parking problems on campus. This is because the Thompson center is a very large building housing various departments on campus. Therefore it receives a lot of traffic all day. Visitors to the campus are taking over the parking lots around the Thompson center, which is forcing students to park other places on campus and some students chose to disregard the signs posted for reserved parking.
The fact that public safety and transportation suggests to car-pool or take public transportation is absurd and students should have the right to park on campus. Not being able to park on campus creates an unsafe environment for students. Safety is always of the utmost concern in any academic setting, including here at Adelphi. Adelphi is a safe and secure campus; public safety does an outstanding job keeping the campus safe, but safety of the parking lots compared to the other safety aspects of the university lack attention and action. If action is not taken people will not stop arguing and fighting over spots; students and faculty will wait in line for a long time just for people to pull out of a spot.
Purchasing a car is one of the hugest or biggest accomplishments that a person can achieve on their own. However, what happens when that purchase turns out to also be the worst decision that was ever made? The purchase was a success and a goal was achieved, but the moment the key is turned and the engine is started the contribution to environmental harm begins. As the car is driven, the gasoline fumes that are released from the car contribute to the other many factors and pollutants that damage the environment. Not only is the purchase now a contributor to the depletion of clean air, but it could also play a part in the depletion of someone’s health. For example, asthma or bronchitis could develop in an adult or child as a direct result of breathing in noxious automotive fumes. Depending on where one lives, there could be strict regulations on air pollution. One must be accountable for any and all contributions made to the demise of what was once a healthy Earth. One must be accountable for his or her own carbon footprint. Some individuals have taken steps to reduce their carbon footprints and cause less harm to the environment by purchasing electric cars.
People around the world are constantly moving from place to place. Whether that place is work, a restaurant, or home, people require a means of transportation in order to arrive at a desired destination safely and efficiently. One of the most used means of transportation today are cars. Cars play an important role in the world’s economy by transporting goods and people. Automobiles have come a long way since Ford’s first Model T, and the auto industry plans to further enhance the technology and capabilities of the cars that drive on our roads. New technological advancements like rear-view camera, self parking, and auto braking have greatly improved the overall safety of cars today. However, one of the most talked about ideas are autonomous
Serious crisis in America. Karly and Kelsey Richardson, two students at Grand Canyon University, decided to go to the Grand Canyon to see the sunrise around 2 am, but they never made it. On the way to Grand Canyon, the two sisters collided head on with a wrong way driver on Interstate 17 and all three died instantly. Keaton Allison, the wrong way driver, had a BAC level of .25 percent. In Arizona the “super extreme BAC level is .2 percent.
Public transportation is an essential part of a city. A good public transit can encourage a city’s economic activities and can provide its citizen a convenient life. Does our Phoenix public transit work well? Does it provide sufficient service to the citizen? From my experience, the answer is no. This November I tried to attend the popular State Fair in Phoenix. However, I found that there were not any buses or metros could take me to the fair directly. It means I need 2 hours or more spend on the public transits. As the sixth most populous city nationwide (“Phoenix Quick Fact” 1), compared with Los Angeles and other big cities in America, Phoenix’s public transportation is indeed subpar. Due to Los Angeles has 154 bus lines and 30 metros (“Schedule”), New York has 316 bus lines and 28 subways(“Maps & Timetables”), while Phoenix only has 98 bus lines, and the number of metro line is only one! (“Route Schedules & Maps”) The problem is
If they were to build this garage, parking tickets would no longer be a major issue. It would not be almost impossible to find a parking spot anymore because of the multiple levels of the parking garage. There would be an appropriate amount of parking spots for the students in West Residence Halls. However, it could be quite expensive to build a parking garage of this magnitude. The University would not only have to pay to build a garage, but it would also have to pay a construction company to build it. Constructing this parking garage would also take a lot of time to
