The minimum wage helps the individual to build experience and skills in order to aid him to get into the job market to obtain a higher salary employment. In other words, workers cannot expect to earn more money as an experienced employee. As a matter of fact, the most significant purpose of a business owner is the growth of the business profits. He or she recompenses the employees a fraction of what they provide to the company. For instance, if a restaurant owner is paying $6.00 an hour to ten dishwashers employees and then by a new law increasing the minimum wage to $15.00 and hour, the owner would not raise the salary of those ten employees. Instead, he or she will install a dishwasher machine keeping only two out of the ten employees saving him or her money. In consequence, eight individuals become unemployed and with a low possibility that they would find a job that pays $15.00 to a dishwasher position. In Connecticut, the current minimum wage is at $9.15 per hour. However, governor Malloy signed a bill where it will increase the minimum wage up to $10.10 in the beginning of 2017.
