Persuasive Essay On Lord Of The Flies

Lord of The Flies shows use what would happen if little kids were lost on an island alone with no rules, no leaders, and no adults. LOST shows us what would happen if adults were lost on an island with the same consequences. Would they kill? If so, who and why?
Having rules and being civilized can help the country to be a safe and reliable place to live. You need rules, to have rules you need a society and a humane culture. The Lord of The Flies has already elected leadership roles, while LOST has no rules, Leadership role or jobs for the adults. Without rules and order people do bad things like murder. Murder is the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. There are two types of murder, second-degree and first-degree murder. First-degree murder is a premeditation or planned murder. Second-degree murder is by intent, not planned. In Lord of The Flies and LOST people were killed, was it an accident or murder?
A storm was coming in on the island of Lord of The Flies and the little kids were scared running around in the forest because of the thunder. They were scared that the beast would come out and kill them. They were so scared they called for the beast “Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!” again and again until Simon walked into the circle saying that

there was a dead body on the mountain side of the island. When they saw the figure appear in the circle without thinking they attacked. After they have killed the “beast” they realize that it wasn’t the “beast” it was Simon. Piggy and all the others say it was an accident. That they were scared and thought it was the beast and not Simon. Ralph says that they murdered Simon and should've known that it wasn’t the beast and shouldn’t of been out in the storm. “Roger took up a small stone and flung it between the twins, aiming to miss. They started and Sam only just keep his footing. Some source of power began to pulse in Roger’s body.” Roger’s source of power is from missing with little kids and hurting people. Roger with a sense of delirious abandonment he leaned on the lever and the rocks went rolling down the hill towards Piggy. Piggy watched as the rocks came flying on top of him. People watched as Piggy’s body was struck with a glancing blow from chin to knee. Piggy’s body went flying into the ocean, it twitched a bit, then the ocean sucked the body of Piggy into the ocean. Roger killed Piggy and everyone on that island knows that Roger did.
In LOST when the plane went down and crash landed on the island one of the passengers got a larger piece of shrapnel lodged in his abdomen.

Jack got the shrapnel out of Marshal Edward Mars, but he got infected and was dying. To help him get over the pain Kate and Sawyer agreed on shooting Edward. Sawyer shot Edward in the chest to shoot his heart, but missed and hit his lungs. Jack had to deal with Edward in pain and his lungs bleeding. Jack didn’t want Edward to suffer, so he ended Edward life. Edward, Kate, and Sawyer both wanted to end his suffering, but Sawyer missed and Jack had to kill Edward. Jack had to kill Edward or Edward would die slowly and

painfully.
Without rules people will take matters into their own hand. People will kill when they are tired and hungry. People were scared when the thunderstorm came around and thought they could call out the beast, but they killed Simon thinking it was the so called “beast”. Roger wanted to feel power so he threw rocks on the twins when he felt the power he pushed the rock that killed Piggy. Jack had to kill Edward because Edward asked to put down to end his suffering. Edward wanted to be killed and asked Jack, Kate, and Sawyer to kill him to end his suffering. Simon’s murder was an accident, but Piggy was murder by Roger. Roger should've known that someone was going to be killed by throwing the rocks or pushing the rocks down the hill. When people are left with no rules they take advantage of their freedom. Lord of The Flies and LOST shows what would happen if people are left alone with no rules or leadership.
