Among the many reasons Jennifer Lawrence is such a unique actress is the fact that she remains true to herself. Unlike so many actors, she doesn’t let Hollywood change her. She lets hate roll off her back, she’s completely honest in her interviews as though she’s having a casual conversation with a friend, and she’s comfortable with who she is. These are three things that many teens struggle with, ignoring the hate, being honest, and feeling comfortable in their own skin. There are many reasons people send out hate about Jennifer Lawrence: They call her rude and fat, they say her fans are annoying, and sometimes they hate on her for the most random reasons, for example, because of her quirky, odd, slightly insensitive brother or even because she uses strange words, such as the term “quark”. But JLaw doesn’t care. Despite all the harsh critisisms sent out, she doesn’t respond, she stopped on many social media platforms, and she doesn’t let it get to her. “I can …show more content…
name a lot of things that taste better than skinny feels.” She jokes in response to body shaming. “Bread, potatoes... a Philly cheesesteak and fries.” Even if it’s embarassing, Jen will still say it in interviews. Some celebrities have denied some of the stories she’s told, but it’s more likely that they just don’t want to admit it. Not many celebs are willing to make fun of themselves. Meanwhile, JLaw is telling stories about her puking at an Oscar party and comparing her dancing to Gumby getting electricuted. You can’t get any more raw and unedited than that. Of course, it does cause problems. The more honest she is in interviews, the harder it is for some people to tell when she’s joking. However, the honesty and jokes put together are what her fans love about her. She admits everything from, “I was just like a pathological liar when I was a kid,” to, “Once I’m obsessed with somebody, I’m terrified of them instantly.” “I’m a big believer of accepting yourself and not really worrying about it.” Says Jennifer.
In the end, that’s what makes her so special: ignoring the haters and the liars and being confortable with who she truly is. Although this wasn’t always the way it was since she’s had to deal with bullying and middle school drama, she’s become resilient through the years. She’s comfortable with herself and encourages kids to be comfortable with themselves too, spreading an extremely important message. Among the many messages Jennifer Lawrence has for teens, especially girls, perhaps the most important is, “Girls see enough of this body that we can't imitate, that we'll never be able to obtain, these unrealistic expectations... it's better to look strong and healthy.” Laughing off the hate, being honest, feeling comfortable in your own skin, these are the keys to being strong and healthy not only on the outside but on the inside as well. If teens can take her messages to heart, their hearts will grow a lot
stronger.
From a young age, Lohan was constantly starring in ads such as Gap and Pizza Hut, and modeling for Magazines like Vogue and Elle. She continued to go on, securing a role in Another World, an opera that previously starred Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. Later, she earned roles in big movies, such as Freaky Friday, Herbie Fully Loaded and Just my Luck. She got her first breakthrough in the movie, The Parent Trap, which earned 84 million worldwide. The hit movie, Mean Girls, marked the peak of Lohan’s career. The film earned 129 million and earned her multiple awards from places like MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards. For a limited amount of time, she became the highest paid actress of her generation. Lohan then began to launch a singing career, releasing an album calling, Speak, which generated loads of money due to her high celebrity
If you were in this situation how would you feel? If you're patiently waiting for your husband to come home and you give him a kiss as he returns. As he walks and talks little to you then he puts it out there like it’s nothing. Would you cry or would you be shocked? would you fight or would you fall ? tell how you would feel if you were like mary maloney were your husband's going to leave you like he left her. I think that mary maloney is innocent because her husband was a cruel and not very kind man. Not only was he having an affair with another woman he was disrespectful to her he yelled at her and how do we not know he wasn't abusive to her. His fellow officers called him a “lady's man”. I think that mary should not be convicted of murder.
In today’s world, with the media exploiting every single thing about a celebrity, it easy to know their accomplishments or the scandals in their life. The actions that one demonstrates especially when being a celebrity, influences the public and determines whether they are someone to look up to or not. One of the star that are in the public eye is Jennifer Lopez but she is mostly known as JLo. Many people know her as an American singer, actress, dancer, fashion designer and businesswoman (Jennifer Lopez). Everybody out there has their own opinion about her, those who look up to her describe her as a strong, independent and hardworking women who fought to be in the position that she’s in. On the other hand, the haters out there look at her as someone who exposes her physical appearance, isn’t latina enough and is talentless. However Jennifer Lopez is worth knowing about because of her influence in the hispanic community, her support for feminism and her ability to adapt to a variety of roles as a celebrity.
The thing that I specifically admire is the way she copes with the way she was brought up. She was brought up, to learn to use her power when she could to get money or food, or whatever she needed, but she knows that it isn’t right to steal, and it isn’t right to use a power that nobody else has to get something that you actually don’t deserve.
Societal constructs of bodily perfection have a massive influence on both genders and on all ages. If you look at any magazine, you will see women constantly being compared to each other, whether it is in the “who wore it better” section or in the “do’s and don’ts” part of the magazine, comparing body images and overall appearances. All parts of the media that encompasses our daily lives are especially dangerous for young and impressionable teens because they see people being torn down for trying to express themselves, and are thus taught to not only don’t look like “don’ts”, but also look like the “do’s”. This is dangerous in that women in the magazine set very high standards that teens want to emulate, no matter the cost to themselves or their health. Celebrities have the benefit of media to make them appear perfect: Photoshop and makeup artists conceal the imperfections that are often too apparent to the naked eye. Viewing celebrities as exhibiting the ideal look or as idols will, in most cases, only damage the confidence of both young teens, and adults, and warp the reality of what true “beauty” really is. It makes teens never feel truly content with themselves because they will be aiming for an ideal that is physically impossible to attain and one that doesn’t exist in the real
It's been a few years now but America is still obsessed with "Keeping up With the Kardashian's". What is this obsession all about? Are we fascinated by their luxurious lifestyle? Perhaps we're entertained by their zany antics. Whatever reason you may have to watch the show, it's undeniable that Kim Kardashian is the "star". Never before has someone been so universally loved and hated at the same time. However these days, the reasons to love her are seriously diminishing.
...she is happy. In general, all the actors in the movie make the audience feel what they are feeling and this is essential for the movie as the plot is deeply emotionally charged.
“There’s no magic bullet; there’s no pill that you take that makes everything great and makes you happy all the time. I’m letting go of those expectations, and that’s opening me up to moments of transcendent bliss. But I still feel the stress over ‘Am I thin enough? Am I too thin? Is my body the right shape?” –Anne Hathaway. It seems as if every young girl’s desire is to become a model. Eating disorders affect an increasingly large number of people, especially young women, in today’s modern societies. One study even found that some girls are more afraid of being fat, than of a nuclear war or getting cancer. The most common types of this disorder are anorexia, bulimia, and purging, each having a discrete effect on different people. Right now, one percent of all American women- our sisters, mothers, and daughters, are starving themselves to death.
An actress who has become a tabloid magnet after gaining the celebrity status is known other than beautiful Lindsay Lohan. She is praised for her work in the various projects, Mean Girls, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Bobby, A Prairie Home Campanion. Her album's Speak and A little More Personal (Raw) was loved by people as it grossed the sales of million copies. Lohan starred in the industry when she was at the tender age of three years.
Selena Gomez shows this in a great way. She wanted to focus on her emotional health and take time for herself. “She decided to clear her calendar for the year in order to have this be her priority for future happiness and didn’t want to leave any promoters at bay,” a source close to Gomez told PEOPLE at the time about the star’s career break. “She feels relieved that she can now make more sense of why she was feeling the way she was and is optimistic about the future.” Even though Selena was going through hard times in her life she knew the right thing to do was take time for herself. She was stressed, overwhelmed, and depressed and she didn’t want that negativity in her life so she had to find a positive way to help herself. That’s what everyone should try to do because if she were to deal with that in a negative way she would’ve had more stress and it’s not good for you. Negativity can affect your
Acting, donating, and being unique is what the famous actress and philanthropist Jennifer Lawrence strives for. With a net worth of over $110 million as of 2017, the actress plans on using her money for the greater good (Jennifer Lawrence Net Worth). Jennifer Lawrence was discovered in New York during what she thought was a week-long vacation that turned into a move to the busy city. Lawrence’s big break was acting as a leading role named Katniss in the 2012 award-winning Hunger Games. When not acting in Hollywood, the actress created two foundations directed towards children. Jennifer Lawrence continues to contribute, benefit, and inspire society to this day.
...ow hard she tries, but its okay because she loves who she is and has amazing family and friends who support her. The quotes “I am proud. It will get me into trouble someday, but today it makes me brave,”(Pg66) really shows her self-awareness and her will to keep going through it all.
She does not care about how people think of her as long as she is happy with her
In American culture today, society's view of beauty is controlled by Hollywood, where celebrities are constantly in the lime-light. The media watches Hollywood's every move, and is quick to ridicule “A-listers” whenever they dare to gain a few pounds or to let an uncontrollable pimple show. The media has created a grossly distorted mental image of what should be considered beautiful, and with almost every junior high and high school-age girl reading and viewing this message, the idea has been instilled in them as well. This view of beauty is causing many teenage girls to become obsessed with a highly problematic and unattainable goal of perfection.
However, it is evident that the media usually presents and sexualizes women who are “young, fit and beautiful” hence probably creating self esteem issues more than confidence especially in younger women who are religious towards the media’s expectations. This stereotype of being a desired body shape only forces women to meet unattainable perfect physical standards (Gill 2015). The media bombards the youth with gender representations and the types of bodies that are deemed to be attractive. Many teenagers all around the world are desperate to lose weight to be “beautiful”.
