Hunting
Since the dawn of man, hunting has been a part of our DNA. Things that you may have overlooked or you never thought about in your everyday life are often a result of hunting. Hunting itself is a basic instinct that lies in all of us to fulfill the primal need to pursue and achieve food. Obviously there has been a change in time with the commercialization of mass produced food, allowing for this basic instinct to recess into a non-required skill for everyday man. Hunting, or the pursuit of wild game, has largely turned into a sporting activity that allows for the everyday human to be involved with the wild side that we all internally possess. It is quite the opposite, in the twenty-first century, it can be observed as a recreational activity that appeals to the traditionalist or avid outdoorsman; that feels the need to partake in such an activity. Personally, I see myself as one who enjoys the outdoor experience, as well as the excitement that involves itself with pursuing wild game. I believe that conservation is important for a number of reasons, but more importantly this subject impacts me because of my own personal involvement with the sport. I say sport because hunting is not a life or death requirement in the modern era. Hunting is something that I completely enjoy doing in my own spare time. It’s enjoyable to me for a number of reasons such as; spending time away from home, exploring new and different environments, or having the comradery amongst others that are like minded. There are some that see it to be an horrific act that only promotes violence, but it see it as quite the opposite. Time spent with family over a boning activity, which promotes education and conservation. However, that being said, conservation has its place for a number of reasons, mostly stemming from the idea that we need to keep specific species of wild animals healthy and thriving, for years to come. The great thing about hunting is that it can be shared with all who want to be involved.
